BP Oil Spill: "People are getting sick all over the Gulf Coast"

You sure don't here about this stuff on CNN....do you? This entire nightmare is just being swept under the rug....And by the way...I was just listening to CNN about the 5000 dead birds. They have experts saying it was stress from New Years eve fireworks...causing them to have a heart attack. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? OMG...We are sooooo screwed if the public believes this.
From the article...
One such crew she encountered had brown spots on their bodies. Her friend on the same crew currently has bruising across her stomach, she said.
"It didn't look like someone punched her in the stomach," Arnesen explained. "It looked like the blood vessels underneath the skin surface were literally breaking and the blood was slowly coming to the surface."
"People are getting sick all over the Gulf Coast," she added. "If people who live here can get sick, then people who come here can very well get sick."

BP Crud...high amount of illness on Gulf Coast

It breaks my heart to read the negative comments and hateful accusations towards the people here on the Gulf Coast. Our non profit Guardians of the Gulf has worked on the issues here for the last 11 months and I beg to differ there are thousands of people of all ages here up and down the coast that are very sick! We have the scientific data and medical tests to back up what we say.....the seafood is not safe ....the FDA raised the acceptable levels of toxins in seafood and based their information on a 176 lb man eating 4 jumbo gulf shrimp and 1 ....6 to 8 oz piece of fish per week. give me a break....the fishermen and crabbers wont eat their own catch...Feinburg has done a lowsy job of paying claims...it is an entire cluster you know what......the oil is still washing in ....the beaches are not properly cleaned and its not safe to visit the coast! I hope folks do not treat and talk this way about you and your area when a horrific disaster like this lands in your backyard....cause wake up people it will before long!!!!!!!

Illness Plagues Gulf Residents in BP's Aftermath
ORANGE BEACH, Alabama, Nov 15, 2010 (IPS) - Increasing numbers of U.S. Gulf Coast residents attribute ongoing sicknesses to BP's oil disaster and use of toxic dispersants.
"Now I have a bruising rash all around my stomach," Denise Rednour of Long Beach, Mississippi told IPS. "This looks like bleeding under the skin."
Rednour lives near the coast and has been walking on the beach nearly every day since a BP oil rig exploded on Apr. 20. She has noticed a dramatically lower number of wildlife, and said that many days the smell of chemicals from what she believes are BP's toxic dispersants fill the air.
Yet her primary concern is that she and many people she knows in the area have gotten sick.
"I have pain in my stomach, stabbing pains, in isolated areas," Rednour added. "The sharp stabbing pain is all over my abdomen where this discolouration is, it's in my arm pits and around my breasts. I have this dry hacking cough, my sinuses are swelling up, and I have an insatiable thirst."

we have strong activists here, like the poster of this video -- takeaction -- who have gone to the Gulf Coast to see for himself and report back to DP... what's going on down there, takeaction? You've been pretty quiet after posting this item..

'Cause there's a monster on the loose

All you do is lash out.

Why. I was going to go down there and decided to go to Costa Rica instead. I still find it amazing that you always have to jump in on all BP posts. You stay silent on other posts...then when a BP post hits...you jump to action. And if you would like to challenge my activism....put your money where your mouth is.
Ahhhh Yeah,,

Do you see that it's GOM residents that are disagreeing with you

You are not here. You are telling us we are in denial but... WE'RE HERE! YOU"RE NOT! Do ya see something wrong with your statements?

"All you do is lash out."

Or, perhaps, try to get a more sensible perspective on topics like "people are getting sick all over the Gulf Coast".

"you always have to jump in on all BP posts" - Hey, I work in the industry, have a MS in Geology, understand the way oil rigs & wells work, go through Louisiana every time I go offshore. Yes, when a topic on the oil spill pops up with ridiculous claims, I'll be there. Sierra always posts on the gold threads... because he knows more about it than most here... do you criticize him for that? I don't.

"You stay silent on other posts" - wrong. Unlike some, I says something when the situation warrants. Some prefer to say something about everything, whether it has value or not.

"And if you would like to challenge my activism" - what I challenge is this... here's what you wrote:

.But I am going down their and I do want to see for myself. I have never done anything like this before. A couple of friends and I are going to party it up in Tennessee for the 4th...and then my journey will go from their onto Louisiana...just me....a rental car and a camera. I want to talk to some people myself. Have you ever just felt like doing something....Well...I am!

I will be posting on here everyday with my photos and what I see. I just can't stand it. I have to see for myself!

Then you brag about going to Costa Rica instead, and then Australia.

You are free to continue to post crap like this one, of course, but I am free to criticize you for doing it as well. IMO, it makes us DP & RP look bad.

'Cause there's a monster on the loose

So... one woman, who isn't a scientist or doctor, says that everyone is getting sick and we're supposed to be concerned? The DP is better than this. C'mon people!

You can whats going on in

You can whats going on in some ways by this:

Google flu trends. Look at the area.

I have no idea what caused

I have no idea what caused the massive bird and fish kills in Arkansas, however, if I had to guess, I would not dismiss the possibility that it was the result of government testing of military weapons for possible crowd control. On many occasions during the past ten
years I experienced a concentrated energy force hitting the side of my house similar to a basketball being thrown against the house. I had a set of French doors and several windows located on that side of the house. My house was a two story structure located in the open sitting on top of a hill. Whatever hit the house came from the East and did no visual damage. A sitting duck for an experiment. I no longer live in the house. It will be interesting to see if the new owner has the same experience after he has lived there for a few months.

I found an interesting article on the following web site, however I do not know anything about the site and/or its credibility.

Can't believe this is on the front page!

the title is a gross exaggeration... think about it: "all over the Gulf Coast"?? Really? I live on the Gulf coast and nobody's any sicker than usual.

The Gulf Coast is a huge geographical region, stretching from the southern tip of west Florida to the Mexican border of Texas.

Even if people were actually getting sick because of the spill in the local area where KA lives, including the entire Gulf Coast epitomizes the hysteria that some gullible folks here fall prey to.

'Cause there's a monster on the loose

Come on people, do we all

I agree 100% with Bugman.

Come on people, do we all love to see a F'in conspiracy? Are we searching for the truth or just bullshit that suits our cause?

I also live directly on the gulf and none of my family or my neighbors are sick. Stop following blindly and get the damn facts please for the love of God!

This kind of crap is what will destroy all we have worked for, WE NEED TRUTH, NOT FICTION, this is why I can't stand AJ, he does the exact same thing, mixes truth with lies to suit his own agenda.

thanks neverquit...

Asking questions is all well & good, but we have the tendency to take a relatively small story and make a grand hysterical event.

It's clear that the story is at best a huge exaggeration. Having it on the front page is an embarrassment to DP, and thus Ron Paul himself.

Please, one of you mods... man up, woman up, but get it off!

This woman is right there observing

government ineptness, lies, utter contempt for the people and irresponsibility about the environment.

Her "solution:" "Call your senators." Are people incapable of learning it is up to us? We the people, individuals on the spot -- who know what the local situation is and who care the most -- are the only ones to do what's appropriate and helpful. The government ALWAYS screws up whatever they touch. How is this not obvious by now? Ok rant over, out.

Actually she wasn't.

she was invited for a one time tour of the restricted area then gave an all too convenient interview. She has since claimed she moved out of the Gulf Coast a short time later and begged everyone to evacuate too. So it's really confusing, if you read all the blogs, where she's seeing all the sickness if she's not there anymore.

Water Sample EXPLODES

from the Gulf. Yeah....I would swim in that and eat the fish! NOT!

For Pete's sake...

"When Naman added an organic solvent to separate the oil from the water [collected at Dauphin Island Marina, near some boom], just like he did with all the other samples, this sample exploded right in his lab. “It was almost instantaneous. Actually, maybe one second. that’s just weird.” The result surprised even our chemist."

They took a sample from a boom... that's where oil is concentrated, of course it's full of oil! I'm not a chemist, but perhaps adding solvent to oil would create a flash?

"Almost instantaneous"... oooohhh, scary!

'Cause there's a monster on the loose

Another wise post Bugman. To

Another wise post Bugman.

To many love a good conspiracy instead of finding the facts.

So it was oil

not really a water sample if it was near a boom.

Another neoliberal scam....

It looks like the whole thing is yet another neoliberal scam which will have British Petroleum netting millions.

RawStory's paid shills are pushing FOR evacuation.

The commentary section is completely inundated.

What's with the fish and birds?

They say there is no connection between the Fish and the Birds..I say there is no connection between their Head and their bodies..This I'm sure will be just another Media cover-up..

"I have found that being rich is not about having the most but about needing the least"

Look out for evacuation talk.

Between the earthquakes, dead fish and dead birds, there's either a volcano busting through the earth's crust or planned events to spur depopulation. I'm guessing #2.

Why would they want to deceive everyone to move away?

Is this so British Petroleum can take over the whole area?

Any legal scholars out there? Is this a class-action conspiracy to defraud BP's competitors?

IE: "There's no more people there anyway, so we can just loot everything....Not even Conaco Oil is around anymore!"

The US has wanted to make the Gulf coast

a militarized zone since the 40's.

So that was the real reason....

...For the Gulf War.

British Petroleum's Land Grab. Bunch of traitors.

good find -- Thanks for posting.

Here's the deal

SHE WAS SELECTED BY BP to tour the region by boat then she was interviewed by CNN. The above video was made in EARLY NOVEMBER and was newly re released. She was hired to VACATE the Gulf coast.

How many more credible sources made claims that were thwarted by the press? The only opinions Louisiana was allowed to see were the doom and gloom "everyone needs to leave or die" stories.
