this was posted in my local meetup from someone who did three minutes worth of research:
the "RP supporter" that threatened his life is not a RP supporter -

Couple of things I'd like to
Couple of things I'd like to point out:
1. Glen Beck did exactly as promised. He gave the good doctor an hour to voice his views and it's played in Old Media over and over. Definitely one of the best interviews ever.
2. Beck has ratings to consider and can certainly be forgiven for doing a big of grandstanding to boost ratings (as if having Paul on didn't do enough).
3. Why grandstanding? Because instead of hiring a SWAT team to protect him, wouldn't it have been a little easier to hire his neighbor's 15-year-old to track down the guy threatening his family and report him to the Department of Homeland Security? After all, isn't EVERYTHING a threat to national security these days?

Make no mistake, Beck loves Beck first. He has his agenda. There was no need for him to sensationalize (sp) this on his TV show, he had his reasons. RP would have had a private meeting or phone call with GB at anytime if this was real. This was just a scripted piece for ratings and to pound on RP in front of the world. Ron Paul finally told him, "It was preposterous and he should not have to answer to anything like that". Had to hire a SWAT team and armed security? BS! If he did hire these people, he did it for drama and attention.
You think other controversial celebs don't get wierd messages and death threats? I'd love to read Rush's, Howard Stern's, Alex Jones', etc., emails.
I still do not give GB all of the praise that is being heaped upon him. French kiss on the mouth? WTF was that? Is that the way an "intelligent" man talks to a 70 year old sitting Congressman? Beck isn't worthy to wash Ron Paul's shoes, let alone be an advocate.
I thought it was great and am glad he talked about the crazies
and conspiracy people.
It let Ron Paul state un-equivically that he does not believe them at all and that 9/11 was done by terrorist.
He was allowed to refute all the garbage Faux news has spread about him being in with conspiracy nuts.
Beck had made millions
Saying inflammatory things. He thinks of himself as an entertainer first.
But it was probably a big shock to realize that if one is going to incite the masses with inflammatory rhetoric, there is always "blowback".
It's ironic. He is the the tough guy who advocates bombing entire nations into oblivion because of less than .00001% of that population's illegal activities.
When faced with the same kind of reprehensible violence of facism, only this time directed inward, he cowers like a gutless turd.

C'mon guys... was Beck grandstanding a bit? Sure. Could he have been more grandiose? You betcha.
Fact of the matter is, someone threatened his family. I have a wife and 2 kids that mean more to me than anything in this world. If you threaten them, I don't care who you are or what your motivations are. I'm coming at you and I'm coming at you hard.
In my mind, this explains some of GB's past comments. Could he have handled them better? Sure... but in hindsight, he sure has heck could have handled them much worse too.
I thought the interview was overwhelmingly positive. He went out of his way to compliment the "vast vast majority" of Ron Paul supporters. But the man wanted a personal issue addressed. Given that he gave us so much positive airtime, I think he allowed to do that.

I have no idea why people are praising that interview. Beck was looking for ratings and controversy. SWAT teams and bullet proof vests? RIGHT.................I hope Beck fades into obscurity. He's a two bit hack.

Sensationalized
Even if it was a Paul supporter that threatened him, the way he announced it was to sensationalize it. He left if as a cliffhanger before a commercial to get the maximum negative impact. That was really very rude. While a great overall interview, it's like the many that start off good and by the end, he's alway a longshot or something to discredit him.
If I were going to thank him, that thought has been removed. I won't write and knock him as I do appreciate the interview, but he does not deserve praise either.....french kiss or not!

It's very clear this guy is only out to hurt Ron Paul if you look at his videos. That being said, Glenn said that he also showed Ron Paul a video clip during the break that threatened his life. I don't know who that video was from, but this guy with the comments is clearly no Ron Paul supporter, and Beck should issue an apology for even suggesting that he is. That was either complete stupidity on Beck's part or a blatant attempt to discredit Dr. Paul.

You don't sound like a Ron Paul supporter, but a troll in supporter's clothing. A true Ron Paul supporter believes in the message of Dr. Paul and would never be swayed away from voting for him based on who his supporters are or what his supporters do. Only a McRudyhuckromnpson supporter would vote according to what everyone else does instead of according to principles and beliefs. Your sheeple-like comments give you away.

I agree with you on the name-calling
That makes me automatically suspect-mindless-troll these days, too. I don't see many people who complain about Paul supporters without resorting to name-calling immediately, as in this case, and it does tend to weaken their underlying arguments.
But going beyond the mindless name-calling he makes what might be a good point. How do we know this nut is the correct nut? There are LOTS of nuts out there claiming to support us with various levels of credibility. Unless Beck spills the beans (if he has, I'm not aware of it) all we can do is suspect this is the one.

but that still doesn't rule out someone posing as a Ron Paul supporter to discredit him, which seems extremely likely judging by Beck's reaction, it must have been some major threats.

Why should we remove praise? It was still a good interview. Put youself in becks position. If some stranger made a video threatening my family I'd have no choice but to take it seriously. Also I think Beck was giving Dr. Paul the opportunity to put to to bed once and for all and that it had nothing to do with anything Ron Paul or his real supporters stand for. Let it go and lets move on to getting Dr. Paul elected!
Stop looking for the negative and lets focus on the positive it seems some folks all they want to do is find something wrong with every little thing.

If it wasn't so late I would do it myself tonight, but I can say that Glenn Beck has today given RP the best MSM publicity that anyone has, and he even addressed this issue. This is scary. Don't blame Beck for this crap. Let's please let him know about this so that it can be cleared up and maybe this ahole, who scared him half to death, and made all of us, and Dr. Paul look like terrorists, can be tracked down and exposed to all. Glenn Beck is as much a RP supporter as any of us. We should help him. People threatened him because of his alliance with our guy.
