AZ Sheriff Points At "People Who Make A living At Inflaming The American Public!"Submitted by mac_hine on Sat, 01/08/2011 - 23:35
Here we go... A senseless act of violence committed by a psychotic wacko is now being blamed on free speech.
Remember these words from Jay Rockefeller?
Krugman's terrible response to shooting
Krugman as Scum http://www.economicpolicyjournal.com/2011/01/krugman-as-scum...
I'm sorry, but Paul Krugman's attempt to link opponents of government healthcare, with alleged killer Jared Lee Loughner, is absurd, distorts the situation and is malicious. He knows better than to write this :
And for those wondering why a Blue Dog Democrat [Gabrille Giffords], the kind Republicans might be able to work with, might be a target, the answer is that she’s a Democrat who survived what was otherwise a GOP sweep in Arizona, precisely because the Republicans nominated a Tea Party activist. (Her father says that “the whole Tea Party” was her enemy.) And yes, she was on Sarah Palin’s infamous “crosshairs” list.
Just yesterday, Ezra Klein remarked that opposition to health reform was getting scary. Actually, it’s been scary for quite a while, in a way that already reminded many of us of the climate that preceded the Oklahoma City bombing.
There is no indication that Loughner's main focus, or any part of his focus, was on healthcare. But, further, knocking off a Congresswoman is about as effective as the DEA arresting a drug king pin. Someone else slides into the position.
The only time assassinations work is when the elite are shooting at each other--if an elite takes out an opponent, where he can then slip into the position. Effective assassination is a power players game, and mis-directed effort if done by the angry masses. Reason, logic and truth are the only power weapons those of us not part of the ruling elite have. Hell, most libertarians know this instinctively. Most of us don't even vote because we know it doesn't matter who holds the power position. We sure the hell aren't going to go shooting up politicians, and put what remaining liberty we have at risk, just so another politician can slip into the position.
Any outsider shooting at a public official is really missing in reason and logic. Healthcare reform is wrong because it defies reason and logic. There may be outsiders who don't get the reason and logic thing, who hang around the edge of the cause, but nut jobs hang around all kinds of causes. They can be left-wing nut jobs, as much as right wing, even the environmental movement has had it share. Or has Krugman forgotten about James Jay Lee and Ted Kaczynski ?
When Krugman puts a special warning label out against national health care opposition, he is at his most devious.
