Thank you!

Just sent this to my kids and grandkids. If I can save ONE from the lies it is worth it!

bumping--

the military industrial complex is taking over in more ways than one hundred--

there are no jobs out there, so join up--

Get a job in the defense industry; this is what is facing the young people getting out of college now; I have young adult (married and single) children, and this is what their friends are doing--

*angry*

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Enlist to justify...

"undeclared wars?" I hope the young people are smart enough today, to realize they have been duped and are pawns for an unconstitutional government. Don't feed the beast.

"I ain't got no quarrel with them Viet Cong." Mohammed Ali.

"Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is argument of tyrants. It is the creed of slaves." William Pitt in the House of Commons November 18, 1783
"I know major allies who fund them" Gen. Dempsey referring to ISIS

even if they ARE smart enough, which I doubt--

(for many; I use my children's friends as examples; they are politically blind, many of them; they only want to attend concerts and have the easy life, many of them)--

Now, this old person seems to be condemning the young; they are no more deceived than their parents--

the youth ARE our hope, I believe--

but many are turning to the military, to pay off their loans--

it's tragic.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

You're probably right.

And I can't influence anyone except my own kids who range from 23 to 33 and they haven't fallen for the lie.

Wow, nothing like being

Wow, nothing like being completely one sided on the issue. Why can't they make a video showing the good and bad about being in the military. This is just counter propaganda. Granted, I got out just because of the war and my hatred toward our governments policies, but it wasn't all bad. Being in the military is a great experience. Not to mention some of the inaccuracies in the video.

I totally agree

I am a Marine Corps Vet of seven years and I must say that this video is focused only on discouraging recruitment and has many false accusations. First of all if you think you can join the military and be promised not to see combat you are a fool. And all contracts are 8 years of obligated service. This means you serve four years but if the military needs you they can call you back, this is not a secret, it is thoroughly explained. Also telling certain lies is not a formal policy of the military. The military might be blamed for putting pressure on recruiters to recruit two people a month. But the individual recruiters are the ones at fault because some become desperate and lie.

We have a great American military traditions and we must realize that supporting the troops and the government are two different things.

And for those who have children and grandchildren that are interested in joining. Have them join the Coast Guard, Air Force, or the Navy. They can experience the military life and encounter a lot less risk.

Have you had a chance to look

Have you had a chance to look at the information pointing toward the fact that 9/11 was an inside job?

Thanks for the Comment

I won't watch it.

Truth is important. Balance is important. If the communication is one-sided, it won't convince those who appreciate and know about the parts that are missing.

Some of our greatest allies are people who love and have a family tradition of serving in the military. We can't win more of them unless we recognize what is good about this.

Bump It Up !

A Hard Dose of Reality For Those Thinking That Killing And War is All Fun & Games..

Not to mention...

Ok, this video is good for painting a much more vivid picture of what it's like in the military...
But, although young soldiers get screwed over, that's beside the big picture.
Ron Paul wants a nonintervenious foreign policy.
That should be the focus! We don't need this imperial force taking over foreign lands for resources and power... That is unconstitutional!
After serving 6 yrs in the army national guard, I had hurricane Katrina and Afghanistan to deal with and I now have PTSD, an paranoia/anxiety issues... I definitely feel for these kids going in now and the best advice I can give an eager applicant is "consider the cost."

But it was still a powerful video, but let's keep the focus on Ron Paul ideals: nonintervention and personal and fiscal responsibility... Then we can put one of the last great politicians in the white house to save this broken system!!!! Ron Paul 2012!!!!!!!!

"truth is treason in an empire of lies."

Totally Agree With You Mr.Spock...

Just because the gun can be used wrongly...does not mean the gun is wrong.

War is necessary as a last resort...Defense. Not as a means of federal contracts and business agenda's.

I am a proud gun owner and NRA supporter...The very definition of war becomes dissolved if it never ends...it becomes desensitized to its original meaning HELL, and becomes just another day of work.

There is no glory in a war that cannot be won, because of an invisible enemy that is scattered constantly and in turn perpetuating the cycle of this so called "War".
No clear enemy, no clear end...This only sure thing is that it will take A War to End this War.

That's the True Tea Party. To Bring Checks and Balance to America once more, with a healthy... boot in the ass.

LIBERTY OR DEATH!!!

excellent video

My nephew is in basic training right now...they promised him language training. He figures he won't see combat. I fear he's made a big mistake.

the people in this video are

the people in this video are brave souls.

thanks for posting this video.

The slogan press on has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race. No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.

- Calvin Coolidge

This is a good video.

I'm sorry to say it but it really comes down to survival of the fittest.

The information is all over the internet. It's no longer a secret that war is evil and ugly.

If someone is stupid enough to risk their life and limbs to fight a war for the special interests then so be it.

Yeah, but...

That's a great video. As a former Marine who opposes US imperialism and the unconstitutional wars we are in, and having a son who spent several years in the Army (two of them in Iraq and is now a huge Ron Paul fan and totally opposed to what the military is doing), I still have to point out that the enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend. The American Friends Service Committee (producers of the video), while not technically a communist front, might as well be. The have a long record of pro-communist activities and are not anyone I would be associated with. There are plenty of other arguments and sources we can use to oppose enlisting in the military. As great as that video is, I wouldn't pass it on to anyone.

No King but Jesus, no President but Ron Paul

I understand your concerns about afs . . .

I'm reading, listening.

Though the history/credentials of the group doing the film are in question, the young people (and old) who were interviewed were real.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

I'll agree with half of the

I'll agree with half of the content, it was being spread abit thick when badmouthing the military life style, I've lived it for 11 years and still am and its not as its made out to be in this movie.

The fighting however, is, except their wounded vastly our number ours; showing how terribly good we have gotten at the business of killing with no constitutional athority... when history looks back they will see that we greedily chased goals that were vastly different than the ones chanted on tv.

When history looks back

When history looks back we may be in an ocean of shame and disgust for selves.

I like to do the math where I take the war budget, consider how much I've contributed through federal taxes and then divide up how many murdered people (be they US soldiers or arabs) my funding has enabled through the wars. It comes out to around 12 people that I can say my family and I helped kill over the past 10 years.

spouse and I argue about this--

one of us believes that non-violent, non-MIC involved Americans are not to be held accountable; the other believes that *we* all have blood on *our* hands.

Not sure either of us is right.

Or wrong.

Nazi Germany and the Holocaust

With the risk of raising argumentum Hilterum, how do you feel about non-combatant, civilian Germans who went about their business and paid their taxes and perhaps new or even grumbled about the war/camps?

I haven't figured this moral/personal dilemma either.

I do like to give this tax exercise to progressive types I meet who advocate for more taxes without having a good grasp of why the government needs the revenue. The war talk makes them antsy on the subject, which may partially be a side-effect of Obama's identity viz., the nobel peace prize anti-war ultra-progressive who maintains our war despite it being on executive order and is not really progressive in any positive attribute of the term.

Thanks, for pointing that out.

Now if we can just get some freedom loving military types who can step up and produce something this honest I am sure it will land on the front page of the Daily Paul.

Very good

Very good. I had a relative who was told that he would be stationed in Korea, but then they sent him to Iraq. He started smoking in the military. Then he got hurt and it took forever to even see a doctor.

Powerful.
