Is there someone here who is already a delegate?

I guess becoming a delegate is the critical step towards Dr Paul's nomination! I was looking at 'how to become a delegate' on the official website and frankly I could not understand it very well.
Is there someone on this forum who has already become a delegate? If yes, can you briefly describe the steps you had take to become one in your area. It would be helpful as well as inspiring if you could write it in the form of a first person account ( whom did you call, and other nuances)
Please do mention your county/city when you reply to this post.

Bump
If anyone knows of the process in their State, then please post here. This will help others learn what needs to be done.
good feedback
Thanks.
Also because of obvious reasons, I encourage everyone to keep this thread going and post at what stage they are with his process.
In WV
I guess each state has a different procedure. I would suggest contacting your state party office and get the details from them.
You might try contacting the official campaign. In my state, there was someone, I think, from the official campaign that helped me out.
In WV, you had to meet the criteria and file to be a delegate by Nov. 30th. In January, they will have an online vote to see who actually wins the delegate slots. You also had to be registered by Nov. 30 to take part in the Jan. vote. In some counties, not enough people sign up for all the available spots, so they automatically became delegates. The Jan. vote will determine which of the candidates make in the counties which had an excess of people filing to become delegates.

Colorado Caucus
I'm new to this so I'm not sure about the requirements for other States, but, from my understanding about the Colorado Caucus delegates won't be selected until the day of the Caucus.
Apparently it's a very nontechnical event that doesn't use electronic voting machines but instead involves the members of each precinct getting together (usually at a local elementary school) and nominating a delegate for each candidate. If no one nominates you, you can nominate yourself to be a Ron Paul delegate. Of course, there only needs to be 1 delegate in each precinct for each candidate.
After the delegate is selected there is a second process which then involves everyone in the room casting their vote (usually by raising their hand) for the delegate of their choice.
Who ever has the most votes, wins.
So you need people IN YOUR PRECINCT to be registered Republican AND vote for you during the caucus. That's where the canvassing comes into play.
EVERYONE needs to be out in their neighborhoods chatting with neighbors to determine who is a potential Ron Paul supporter. If they are and they are in your precinct, they NEED to participate in the caucus and cast their vote for you. If they aren't a Ron Paul supporter, then don't waste your time. We don't have time to argue or try to convenience the apathetic. And we don't want to motivate the unmotivated. We don't want a Romney or Giuliani supporter in your area to know that you are trying to get delegate votes for Ron Paul. We don't want to encourage supporters of other campaigns to get active. So DON'T tell them you are a Ron Paul supporter or that you are trying to be a Ron Paul delegate.
Just walk up to people's house, tell them you one of their neighbors and are getting involved with the local political process. Ask feeler questions such as their opinion of the war or health care. If they love the war, want to go to Iran and want socialized medicine, then they AREN'T a Ron Paul supporter. Just say thank you and leave. If they want out of Iraq and don't want to go to Iran, or, if they want privatized medicine or give any other indicators that they could support Ron Paul's positions.. then lay it on them. Get them motivated, get them involved and then have that person help find other supporters.
At this point, it doesn't help to talk to Democrats. You MUST be registered Republican for 60 days before the caucus. That deadline was Dec 5th. So Democrats can't vote in the Republican Caucus so if you can eliminate Democrats or Libertarians or Greens from your walking list that will help out tremendously. Check your State laws because this information pertains to the Colorado Caucus. Your state may be an Open caucus which would allow anyone to vote.
So get out there. Talk to friends and neighbors. Get their support and then GET INVOLVED!
Remember this as this is very encouraging... Roughly only 10% of registered Colorado republicans voted in the last caucus. Only 10%! That's roughly the support that Dr. Paul has on all national polls. If Dr Paul's 10% will get out and vote, he will win the nomination.

Delegate in MD
I had to go to the state Board of Elections office and fill out a form. No fees. Then I had to inform the campaign (or the person in our state whom the campaign asked to be a point of contact) that I had done so. When the deadline passed for signing up to be a Delegate, the campaign sent an attorney to "certify" the group as Paul Delegates. There are 8 Districts in MD: 3 Delegates, and 3 Alternates for each District.
That was it. Maryland was very easy.
You may want to call the campaign first to see if there is a point of contact in your state. Make sure you notify the campaign or the contact person that you signed up. I'm sure someone is trying to keep track of which Districts are full and which ones need Delegates.
Good Luck!
I am
I'm a delegate in St. Clair county IL, and all I had to do was get in contact with the person that was organizing the delegate process in my state. I gave him my info, and a few weeks later my name was on the delegate petition. Easy as pie.
how did you find out who the contact person was?
how did you find out who the contact person was?
Contact your local
Contact your local Republican Office. Ask who your district chairperson is. Ask who your Precinct captain is. If there is no precinct captain for your area... Become one.
how
is this info online anywhere?
Don't know
Not that I know of, I believe I got the message though my meetup group. So, I would send out a message to all your states meetup groups and see if they have been doing anything about delegates.
