Ron Paul says he'd rather run for Barack Obama's seat than Kay Bailey Hutchison's

A Senate run “only crosses my mind because people ask me about it,” said Paul, whose son and fellow Republican, Rand Paul, was sworn in as Kentucky's junor senator earlier this month. “I don’t think it’s a real possibility.”

I'd rather have him in the Senate...

But the movement needs him to run for president....

But if Gary Johnson can fit the bil?...

As a Senator he could work to free Texas

He could also win. But, the campaign for President will do more for the liberty movement as it will demand more opportunities for media, fundraising, and educating.

(A single senator can kill most legislation. Maybe not the runaway stuff like Obamacare but all of the other little oppressions, a senator could be quite a protector.)

the thing about being

the thing about being president is that Ron Paul could sign an executive order making all other executive orders that other presidents have written void.

That's the great thing about Presidential EOs.

He could use them to dismantle much of the Executive Branch. Many things that are under the President's direct control comprise the worst agencies of the bureaucracy and the police state.

Why?

You'd rather have him go for a less powerful seat. Basically one with almost no power?

USA Today: Ron Paul keeps eye on 2012 White House bid

By Catalina Camia, USA TODAY
1/21/11

Texas Republicans are lining up to run for the Senate seat being vacated by Kay Bailey Hutchison, but one of them probably won't be libertarian Rep. Ron Paul.

Paul told National Journal, however, that he's thinking about making another run for president in 2012.

The congressman, who gained a following on the Internet with his 2008 presidential bid, told National Journal he's keeping an eye on the strength of the U.S. dollar before deciding whether to join what is expected to be a big GOP field trying to defeat President Obama.

Would think most of us agree with him on this....

Right?

I wouldn't exactly call the story fake, just the headline

I didn't notice any part in the story that quoted Dr. Paul saying he'd rather have Obama's seat, but I'm certainly hoping he's leaning that way. But considering the powers behind all the elections and the money pushed around it is going to be a enormous uphill battle to even come close. We certainly don't want him going out like Kennedy

This story is fake!

Or maybe it's not. Here's another story, similar to this one but without Obama or a 2012 presidential run being mentioned:

The Raw Story

Makes a mountain out of a molehill from the Hill story.

The National Journal story came after both of them. It's fresher.

A humble, but intelligent

A humble, but intelligent president.

Ron Paul 2012!

Did you notice

the shirts in his big family picture in the family cookbook around Christmas??? That picture told me more than anything else that he is going to run.

If he doesn't get the presidency

he should run for President of the Republic of Texas, and get us the heck outa the union.

Now that would be interesting....

he might end up with more than just Texas, as well.

Whenever I have too! Classic Ron Paul!

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul

Here is my plan

What i would like to see is that Ron Paul retire from the House of Representatives in 2012, and have Debra Medina whom ran for governor run for Ron Paul's seat. Ron Paul should then run for U.S. Senate and President at the same time, that is if he has enough energy to do that.

It's ironic, but Dr. Paul has

It's ironic, but Dr. Paul has a much better chance of winning the general than the republican primary.

this is why we have to get

this is why we have to get people to be delegates. Everyone has to this. this is just as or more important then your 2300.00 donation.

I just now caught that reply

I just now caught that reply from back in January. I think I detected a sneer.
First, I will have donated the max by the end of the campaign by installment. I'm no big leaguer.
Second, I don't know where you live, but where I live, you don't just walk in to see the good ol' boys and tell them you're a delegate, and oh by the way, I'm for Ron Paul.
Try focusing that attitude on someone more deserving.

Good one

Obama seat will be won by Dr Paul..............

I hope he runs. I'm 21 years

I hope he runs. I'm 21 years old and I think Ron Paul is absolutely the man! I grew up in a neocon family, but ive come to see the light lol

run Ron run!

you have to reach your

you have to reach your family.

its not easy with family.

its not easy with family. Its more of a gradual approach. I just try to point out that Liberty is more important then telling people what they should do with their lives. And that foreign intervention is BIG govt(welfare/warfare) overseas.

Good Idea is to be reading Ron Paul books around them, or have books like "The Revolution: A Manifesto" laying around in noticeable areas when they are around.
