PPP: Third Party Candidate on Right Could be Viable in 2012

Here we go again--Divide and Conquer

If someone mad about Mitt Romney or Tim Pawlenty or Mitch Daniels getting nominated ran to their right and pulled even just 3-5% in the general election that would probably scuttle just about any GOP hopes of knocking off Barack Obama. And a fair number of their folks are at least open to the possibility of doing that. It could be a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation for Republicans- nominate someone too far right and lose the independents or nominate someone too centrist and lose some of your own folks to a third party. How the party handles that dynamic may prove to be the biggest story of the 2012 cycle.

3rd party doesn't work.

Before WW2, obstacles placed into the election system to keep communists and the various socialist workers parties off the ballot, are still there today. The two party system is a perpetual bar to multi party elections.

Why Can't People Get It In Their Heads

There is no left, nor right. There is no conservative, nor liberal. There is no Republican or Democrat. There are only two political thoughts that apply. Do you favor FREEDOM or SLAVERY--BIG GOVERNMENT OR LIMITED GOVERNMENT--FREE MARKET OR SOCIALISM.

I hear ya ....!

Neither Hot Nor Cold etc.

If the Repugnants don't nominate Dr. Paul or another true constitutionalist, then I would rather see the frog boiled fast. The Usurper has done more than any R. president in living memory (Reagan included) to wake up the public just by being so crazy. The lesser of two evils is worse because it is more insidious.

Paul or 3rd party.

When will you guys wake up.

It does not matter about defeating Obama because the two parties are from the SAME head.

They are good at putting on a good show to be able to control both sides of debat and thought.
They control "all" communication , PERIOD. All that is relevant to get elected. Go ahead, get on the ballot as third, HA! HA!
The whole World only has two thought processes . PERIOD. From GOD and Satan . Satan tries to control BOTH.

A third is the ONLY way to defeat the HEAD.
Which is prophesyed.
But the HEAD will come back with a vengence.
Why do you suppose they do not allow third party on ballots?

YOU are already split in a Republican party.
YOU fall into their plan.

That is why I think

That is why I think Libertarianism works so well on the Federal level. There is no "one size fits all" policy that you can run this country by and this poll proves that. The feds should stay out of anything that isn't authorized by the Constitution and let the states handle everything else.

Just nominate Ron Paul,

Just nominate Ron Paul, problem fixed.

Yeppers. Ron would pull in

Ron would pull in all the Tea Party votes, many of the Conservatives, and pull more than enough from the independent and Democratic voters to make up for any refractory Neocons, Hawks, and the like who'd abandon the GOP rather than support him over Obama.
