What a good day!

"Liberty's too precious a thing to be buried in books...Men should hold it up in front of them every single day of their lives and say: 'I'm free to think and to speak. My ancestors couldn't. I can. And my children will."

Agreed! Please make this its own post and put on the front page. Let the Senate know we demand an audit of the Fed!

There's a lot of hypocracy going around

My congressman, Pete Stark was a co-sponsor of this bill and then voted against it today. He was also a co-sponsor when Ron Paul's previous Fed audit bill, H.R. 1207 was making its rounds and then voted against that.

If men are good, you don't need government; if men are evil or ambivalent, you don't dare have one.

Stark voted for it before he was against it - classic

only one Republican voted Nay, he was from New York

Senator Al Frankin is a YEA

I was told that he is very "passoniate about this bill". He has not taken a public stance yet...should be interesting, I think when the Republicans wake up they might shoot themselves in the foot when this is all set and done, hopefully after and ever there is a vote...need a strong push to get it on the floor..unreal.

Why isn't this anywhere in the news?

If moderates want anyone but Obama, fiscal-conservatives want Paul, libertarians want Paul, independents want Paul, and disenchanted-democrats want Paul; Ron Paul is the best choice to beat the incumbent.

Because the Media

Because the Media Presstitutes are owned by the Fed!

Missouri wasn't much help :(

Sadly, my state only had 3 of 9 reps support the audit.

Carnahan, Clay, Hartzler, Cleaver, Emerson, and Luetkemeyer all voted "NO", while Akin, Graves and Long voted "YES".

Time to make some phone calls to these people. I'm a bit ashamed.

Harzer voted YES

Rep. Vicky Hartzler @RepHartzler
The House has passed a bill I co-sponsored to audit the Federal Reserve. The American people deserve to know what they are doing!

I think all the Republicans from MO voted yes, recheck your info

Just checked - Every Missouri Congressman/woman voted Yes for HR 459 but Cleaver(D) from St Louis

I also am embarrassed

to be a Delawarean today.

Garan's picture

Don't be Embarrassed..

..be diligent, & hold your representatives accountable.

Ask them why they voted the way that they did,
and get a response.

Maybe they'll think twice the next time are about to do something stupid.

And here you guys bashed Rand...

You can bet your ass he will be working like crazy to get this passed, if he hasn't already done so.

if he does

he redeems himself a bit.

FLASHBACK: Harry Reid supports Audit the FED

now he vows to keep it off the floor of the senate...make this go viral

Contaced my representative

About a week ago after I noticed that his name was on the list of co-sponsors I wrote my representative to congress. He is in charge of New Yorks 21st district, congressman Paul Tonka. To my surprise he contacted me back via e-mail. "I have always believed that government transparency is vital, which is why I supported several provisions in the Restoring American Financial Stability Act to oversee actions at the Federal Reserve" he bagan. As he continues "H.R. 459 has been referred to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform for further consideration. While I am not a member of this particular committee, I will be sure to keep your sentiments in mind should it come before the full House of Representatives. Please be assured that I will continue to work for full government transparency.
Again, thank you for your correspondence. I am most appreciative. As your representative in Congress, I will continue to prioritize policies that create jobs, grow our economy and protect the middle class while responsibly reducing our deficit. Should you have additional comments or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. My door is always open."

This makes me very happy :)

"It's a struggle day and night. But you got to keep up the fight. Real eyes realize real lies. Revolutionize.
Break the chains and hold on tight. Your mind is your souls sight. Think for yourself, stay alive. Revolutionize your mind."

I got a simular from my HRep--but he vote "NO"

What a smuck!

I say: if you can't make it better, don't make it worst!

Ron Paul

introduced an audit the fed bill a decade ago with zero support, 1-414. Today it passed with a 327-98 vote. Chalk another one up for the great dr. on being impossibly ahead of his time.

Please call to thank the reps

Please call to thank the reps that voted yea on HR459!

I'm confused

Why Jim McDermott (D-WA) would cosponsor the bill and then vote against it.

Awesome!!!

So now what?

Call your Senators

Every Senator that cosponsors S 202, can pressure Harry Reid to bringing the bill to vote. The more cosponsors, the more pressure on Reid. Make this happen. Call, email, fax until Reid caves from pressure.

Co-sponsor Pete Stark [CA-13] voted NAY!

I'm very disappointed to say the least. I called his office in DC (202-225-5065) to ask why and was told, "Mr. Stark was a co-sponsor of the ORIGINAL bill" and that's all he would say.

I knew something was up when I called the previous day. When I asked if Mr. Stark had every intention to uphold his co-sponsorship I was only asked for my information so that the congressman could respond to me at a later time.

If men are good, you don't need government; if men are evil or ambivalent, you don't dare have one.
