All-America Walk in Support of Ron Paul’s Freedom Message

There are now 20 states with either planned participation in the August 26th nationally coordinated event or in the planning stages. Go to http://www.RonPaulRadio.U... and see the list at the right hand side of the page. There was a great teleconference on Saturday and 4 more states joined the list on the call.
If you have planned or are planning an activity in â€Support of Ron Paul’s Freedom Messageâ€, PLEASE put it on your calendar on your Meetup group and email george4title@yahoo.com with a link to the calendar entry to be included on the list of participating states. This helps us build momentum and gives us a better profile as we do outreach to media.

Please note that although this is being referred to as a "walk", some groups are looking at other creative forms of participation other than "walking". And that's great (though walking a long distance for a candidate does make a particular statement).
Here is a great video of Kelly Halldorson’s walk which inspired this whole thing. Must see! If one person can do so much, what can hundreds or thousands do?
Get InvolvedHere’s a few things you can do to help make this event a success:
1. Get Organized. We only have a week. If you don’t have an event planned for the 26th, get something together right away and put it on your calendar. If you plan something and get the word out, most of the time people will just show up. If you already have another event previously planned, maybe consider adapting it in such a way as to make it an event associated with this national effort. Just go for it!
2. Spread the word! Take a look at the list of states. If your state is not on the list, please send an email (maybe use the text on the web page) to the Meetup organizer’s and anyone you know in your state and get your state on board! If your state is on board, get involved with the group that is planning the activity. And please do outreach to the Meetup organizers of the states adjacent to yours if they are not already on board. Thanks!
Please take these actions right away. If you are not sure what to do or want to help with the outreach effort, email ronpaulradio@sbcglobal.net and they’ll get you started. Just email and call everyone you know and get them involved and get them to attend your activity! Also, try to get info about this event out on blogs, message boards and such.
3. Outreach to the Media. If you know how to do outreach to the national media, please let us know. We need someone to captain that effort. For this particular walk, we might do better to target local TV, radio and newspapers as well as blogs and online media. Develop a strategy for outreach to your local media for your group. A Press Release is being prepared and will be sent out for you to use.
4. Call it in to Ron Paul Radio. Call into Ron Paul Radio with Steven Vincent to report your plans and help build the energy for the event on the 26th. Call in number: 1-866-582-99335. Ideas? Got a great idea for the event or how to promote/organize it? Share it with us by email and/or call it in to the show and/or the teleconference on Tuesday.
Suggestions-Call the Campaign HQ and request some of the great new “slim jims†that they have...the primary theme is “End the War!†and it is good general purpose material. -Try to have some signs and banners that refer to “Support for the Freedom Message†so we have a unified theme to our activities-Take lots of pictures and video for post event promotion. Let’s create and album/slide show and lots of YouTubes!-Write your own articles about your event and conduct your own audio/video interviews of participants and send these materials to the media. Give them something to work with and they just might use it!HAVE FUN with this! Let’s get out there and wake America up to the FREEDOM MESSAGE and show them that we are for real and not just an internet virus!

National Effort to Organize a National Walk
All great ideas! Each state could relay something via meetup groups to the next state along planned walking routes, all leading to the NH primary, perhaps a copy of the Consitution or Bill of Rights. First plan the routes and organize the meetup groups, then mobilize all the local news affiliates to ensure some coverage. I don't see any laws being broken in the process, so imagine the press coverage if any local or state police try to stop the walk.

It was good to see Kelly and her walk from Dover to Concord. I was impressed that she had so much energy after walking all day!
I am happy so many other kindred spirits are doing walks for Ron Paul. This is good for media coverage too.

Note that if one follows all the rules (e.g., staying on sidewalks, obeying lights), one is not required to have a parade permit.
There are all kinds of issues that come up when big crowds scare the "establishment," so be aware of your rights and sensitive to your neighbors. (Isn't it a nice problem to have?)
My local Culver City police department gave out tickets to motorists who honked in support of peace demonstrators. I'd rather see supporters' money go to Ron Paul.

Why don't we do a relay march where members in CA start to walk with a torch or lantern or something in CA then hand it off at the border to some one in NV or AZ then that state has its meet up members walk to the next state boarder and then pass it off to the next states meet up group members. We do this all the way till we hit NH where the first and most important primary will be held. This will get national media attention in every state!

Ron Paul meetup, and I don't know them yet but I'm sure they'd want to help, and here in Brevard we could pass the whatever on to Daytona who'd pass it up to Jacksonville and on up the coast to you! It would be cool if participants could sign or otherwise modify the whatever-item on the way, too.

invite every state elected official to sign the constitution when it gets to their state. and then march it to washington and invite any fedral elected official to sign the constitution. anyone who doesnt sign it would be sure to lose there seat. then march it to NH. I like your idea
