Is everyone a Registered Republican?

0 votes

Is everyone here registered in the Republican party in order to vote in their states primaries? Everything we have done will be for nothing if no one actually registers and goes out to vote...

From Unaffiliated to Republican

two weeks ago. I called the County to confirm receipt of my registration and they phoned me back the same day. I also verified online just now. Same for my spouse.

I've been trying to convince my family in Arizona to register Republican. They think it is an open primary in February, but the Presidential Preference Election is CLOSED.

A whole lot of people who live there have no idea. The Ron Paul meetups or someone in Arizona needs to place an ad in the Arizona Republic and inform supporteres (many of whom are not involved in the grassroots, such as my extended family) that the election is closed and the deadline to register is January 7, 2008. It can be done online here: http://www.azsos.gov/election/VoterRegistration.htm.

I've sent emails to everyone I know.

switched to GOP

Yeah, I switched to Republican, along with 4 of my friends. Got our cards in the mail. Ready to go.

Yes. Both myself and wife

Yes. Both myself and wife made the switch from indie for this closed primary (FL). Called a buddy in AZ and he switched from Dem for this critical vote.

As an aside... is there any candidate besides RP that is beloved (in message alone) enough to compell opposing party and indies to jump ship?

Didn't think so.

Watch the news closely

I figure that after Paul does well in ohio and NH the republican party is going to move fast to close all those open primary states. Switch now if you can. They will do anything to keep him out. They might even pull some "must have been a regestred GOP member for 60 days crap" . For sure they won't go down without a fight.

Yes

I'm a life long registered Republican.

Here's an idea for those of you not "switched" in time to vote in the primaries:

Why not try to get your friends and family who are already registered Republican to vote for Ron Paul? And, if they're not willing to do it out of their own personal devotion to Ron Paul, perhaps they'd be willing to do it out of their friendship/love for you.

Switched from registered Libertarian 2 months ago for RP in TX

Now I'm a Ron Paul Republican and soon to be Precinct Chair!

Yep - Cali

I'm registered republican.

Cali folk can register here:

https://ovr.sos.ca.gov/votereg/OnlineVoterReg

You get a filled out voter registration card in the mail that you then have to sign, then mail back to the state. They then mail you a little yellow card as proof of your registration.

Cali's deadline is Jan 21 according to www.RonPaul2008.com.
The primary is Feb 5.

Yup

I registered few months ago

I'm Republican life long

I'm still one was about to change until Ron Paul my state is closed so I still can vote I'm running into alot of dems who like RP it's too late to switch in my state but I'm still recruiting for election you can't blame people for not switching I think people need to contact there congress rep to open up states so this politicle affilation problem will go away

Yes.

I changed my party affiliation from Democrat to Republican before the deadline, so that I'm able to vote for Dr. Paul on February 5th, here in NY.

sadly no

I found out about RP 3 days after the deadline, I'm independent, and the primary is closed, but I think Rudy might have NY locked up, so it might not matter. Though I wish I could.

Nope

Indiana has a open primary. We are backward in many ways but on that one, we in front. I vote my own way.

Yup, one of the 4 million California absentee voters

Paper trail for my vote, thank you very much.

Nope

OH has open primaries so no need thankfully and it makes it a lot easier to get people to register. I have been working on that though.

I can't wait to see the day of change when Dr. Paul is elected.

Let's keep the freedom train rolling.

Dem Crossing Over

to vote for the good Dr. in Michigan. Love the open primary! I'll be backing RP in the GE too.

Yep!

Switched in June, have my card, ready to go!

I told my brother, who said he liked RP but wasn't sure he "could win" that in 2000 8.4% of registered repubs voted in the primaries. And I'm positive that at least 99% of RP supporters will show up. Compare that to 9% of any other candidates' supporters.

Personally, I would rip the IV out of my arm and walk out of the hospital to vote in the primary. And I've never voted in one in my 26 years of being eligible.

Dan

...let it not be said that we did nothing.

Nope

Illinois has open primaries so I don't have to go through that baloney.

I'm not registered with any

I'm not registered with any party, Virginia's got open primaries. I am, however, keeping a close watch to make sure there's no last-minute monkey-business.

I'm registered to vote

And in Ohio, you don't have to be registered Republican to vote. Hooray.

Yes

Yes

Yep

Registered Republican to vote in California. I have always been registered Independent. I would never be polled...

Just got my card last week, voting place is right next to my house :)

Know your state.

It is not necessary in every state to be a registered Republican to vote for RP in their state primary. In some states it is, but as an example, I live in Illinois and it doesn't matter what you are when you go to vote. The crap part is that you have to ask for either the Republican or Democrat ballot, after which you automagically become a member of that party. It's B.S. to the Nth degree. In some states you can be anything (or nothing), and in others you must be either Republican or Independent to vote in the Repub primary. I'm sure there are other combinations. The important thing is to KNOW YOUR STATE.

Texas

Correct. There is no registration in Texas. You affiliate when you show up at a primary or convention to vote.
