What to expect if going to the stadium:
"DHS,passing through magnetometers, pat-downs, cameras, X-rays, RFID/GPS tracking, snipers, NORAD fighter jets, police, DART, bomb sniffing dogs,National Nuclear Security Administration teams, biological detection devices, bomb-retrieving robots, high-tech weaponry, Big Brother telescreens at the game displaying DHS propaganda,etc"

As part of the increased security surrounding the Super Bowl, NFL and federal authorities are limiting what fans can bring to Cowboys Stadium.
Everyone entering the stadium must pass through a magnetometer, such as those used at airports, and get a patdown as part of the screening process. The majority of fans will enter through checkpoints on the east side of Cowboys Stadium.
Small bags are allowed, but will be searched, and jackets will be X-rayed.
Not allowed: Items fans can't bring into Cowboys Stadium:
Weapons, mace/pepper spray, fireworks
Camcorders, tripods, camera cases and binocular cases
Umbrellas, strollers
Grills, tents, poles, sticks
Banners, noisemakers, horns, beach balls, Frisbees, laser lights and pointers
Containers of any type, coolers of any size, backpacks
Bottles, cans, hairspray
Allowed:
Items fans can bring into Cowboys Stadium:
Small cameras and binoculars, but not camera cases and binocular cases
Small bags
Items purchased in Fan Plaza on Game Day

I also thought it was cool that joe buck (commentator) announced that the game was being aired over military television networks (?) in over 130 countries... some may have payed it no mind, while others may piece together that we hold military bases in all those countries.

In regards to #5, I wouldn't say the bourgeois were exactly in the crowd. I saw Cameron Diaz feeding A-Rod some peanuts or something, but it was in some luxury box, definitely not in the crowd.

I took my doggies (13 pounders) to the dog park today. There is a small dog side and a big dog side. There were 15 or 20 dogs on each side. About a half hour before game time, there were still 15 or 20 dogs on the small dog side, but only one remained on the big dog side.
All the fights happen on the big dog side.

I recall, before 9/11, that security at public events consisted of bag checks for contraband booze and some big burly bouncers hanging around just in case one of the patrons got out of hand. They saw no reason to hassle the average attendee because the probability of one of them causing a significant problem was miniscule.
I don't think the incidence of acting-out by attendees is greater now, but after ten years of scaring he bejeesus out of people with boogy-men, we now think grandma COULD have a nuke in her knitting basket. Hell, COULD is the operative word and it covers a lot of ground. Of course, Bin Laden COULD show up with an AK and spray the crowd! Martians COULD drop a high tech weapon on the 50 yard line and everybody COULD die. Once you start playing the COULD game, anything is possible.
But the probabilities are still fantastically remote...except for the fact that we have spent 10 years giving people around the world a reason to hate us, so the paranoia actually has a logical basis.
I look forward to the day when we disengage our military from around the world and disband the uber-security measures that have been put in place. I wonder if people will learn to trust each other again. I wonder if they will think, boy, that was stupid thinking grandma was going to nuke us all.

Yes - I intentionally lower-cased THE super bowl, because of the open contempt that We the People have shown to Ourselves this day!
How does the pattern of the People's 'bread and circuses" dereliction of duty from Rome's fallen past, compare with this junk food/ HD multi-media event that we have escaped into today, within the comfort of Our living rooms?
