FOX News: Ron Paul Brings Down the House at CPAC

http://politics.blogs.foxnews.com/2011/02/11/ron-paul-brings...

If anything can be gauged by applause in main ballroom, Ron Paul will once again win the Presidential Straw Poll here at CPAC.

Paul won the contest last year, much to the chagrin of many of the party faithful who attended.

This year Paul was the only potential presidential candidate to directly tackle the tricky subject of Egypt.

"We've invested $70 Billion in Egypt... and all we get is chaos for it," said Paul. "I'm still against foreign aid for everybody."

Paul hit on the idea of isolationism repeatedly. "The Founding Fathers talked about staying out of foreign entanglements when it's none of our business."

Paul also revisited many of his favorite subjects, including ending the Federal Reserve Bank, protecting civil liberties and repealing the Patriot Act.

"The Patriot Act is literally the destruction of the fourth amendment."

Ron Paul supporters have been the loudest supporters over the course of CPAC...

I'm a little confused

where these people are hearing that Ron Paul is against us traveling, and living, laughing, and loving with people all over the world, isolationism. I haven't heard a whiff of that.

One of the guys on Brett Baer's panel

on his six o'clock newscast last night said "Ron Paul WILL win the CPAC straw poll"

I almost fell out of my seat to hear it.

Freedom is not: doing everything you want to.
Freedom is: not having to do what you don't want to do.
~ Joyce Meyer

uplifting to hear

I hope it comes true...
also I hope it is a clear victory -- it would help getting Ron to run.
If he sees strong support it will be easier for him to make up his mind.

nothing but hit pieces and smear tactics galore now.

Looks like the MSM brain-washing cycle

is on spin.

Reporters are still getting

Reporters are still getting the concept "isolationism" wrong. At no time does Ron Paul advocate an isolationist foreign policy. He repeatedly adheres to a "NON-INTERVENTIONIST" foreign policy and explains why? It would be refreshing for these so-called journalists to undertstand that basic difference instead of constantly mis-quoting...thereby mis-characterizing Ron Paul as a viable presidential candidate with a workable, viable, non-interventionist, foreign policy.

Indeed. If I called

myself a reporter or journalist I would get the facts straight, use the correct terms, and do some research EVEN if I loathed the subject. That is a basic professional expectation. Some of these guys are FIN hopeless.

Read the comments,

and then try to tell me that we are not winning.

You can't do it.

The people are waking up to the truth of Dr. Paul and his consistent message of liberty, freedom and personal responsibility.

Ron Paul 2012!

Ron Paul 2012!

TY for the post!

TY for the post!

My comment:
"George Washington once stated "liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth", and, wow, is heing proven correct...

Ron Paul has set brushfires of liberty in the minds of millions of Americans, and if the prescient Washington was indeed correct with the above quote then one would conclude that Ron Paul is living proof of Washington's experience. Ron Paul has gone from an unknown fourth rate presidential candidate to a top tier presidential candidate, and it appears that Ron Paul will win the CPAC straw poll...again.

"Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth." George Washington, a true American patriot"

Someone please...

... post this as a comment for me. I can't post on this blog because I don't have a Facebook ID.

How funny to label Ron Paul an isolationist. It is heer ignorance or an attempt to influence public opinion. An isolationist does not go around promoting free trade with all nations, friendship instead of sanctions., etc. What's more isolationist than to call for sanctions against another country? Ron Paul is a fierce defender of freedom for all, no sanctions, no wars. Nothing isolates more than the illegal invasion and occupation of other countries.

According to the Neocons an Isolationist is someone who doesn't either bribe foreign governments with taxpayers money, or threaten to bomb or invade them.

I guess that means that the Neocons must admire Hitler. He was no isolationist. And he sure liked a big "anti-terrorist" security apparatus. And like Hitler, the Neocons don't have much use for personal freedom.

So let me get this straight

If you don't bomb other countries or
fund a dictator, you are an isolationist?

Sounds like something Ron

Sounds like something Ron Paul would say to Huckabee or JulieAnnie in a debate ;)

Isolationism, huh? Someone

Isolationism, huh? Someone needs to go back to college and learn the meaning behind certain terms before throwing them around inaccurately. 'Isolationism' refers to a policy of no interaction whatsoever with foreign powers. Ron Paul never said we shouldn't trade with other countries.

"The casualty of partisanship is objectivity."

In the minds of "progressives"

if one is not a Globalist, then they must be an isolationist. Their whole perspective is based upon the notion that globalism is good- Sovereign (independent) nations are bad. Their view is antithetical to America.

Their propaganda orders are refer to RP

as an "isolationist"at all times. They want to slander him repeatedly with that label, which we all know is false. I've noticed it in at least two articles today so far. It's part of their strategy to discredit him.

Thanks

we could send them some emails explaining the difference between isolationism and non-interventionism.

They are well aware of the

They are well aware of the difference, but they choose to use the "isolationist" term because it has a negative connotation. They're not that stupid, and writing letters to them isn't going to change what they're trying to do.

I am sure it will not make a difference

but I did just send them a friendly informative email explaining how Dr. Paul is not a isolationist and listed the definitions between the two and urged them to stop misrepresenting him by saying he is an isolationist..not in those words exactly tho. Must nice and more intelligent sounding :)

Looks like Jake Gibson's 3 years at Humboldt State University paid off financially, but not intellectually. I doubt the shills at FOX would care for our facts. They're more interested in people who take marching orders for money and prestige.
