Ultradestructive Megawatt Power-Navy's Death Ray Laser Breaks Another Record

The Navy’s death ray weapon keeps burning through laser records, on its way to the ultimate goal of searing through 2,000 feet of steel per second.

The Free Electron Laser’s latest milestone involved running its electron injection system for eight hours at 500 kilovolts. That will help the laser become more powerful and more deadly, as Wired’s Danger Room reports. (cont.)

It isn't technology that is bad....

it is the powerful interests that make it bad...... WITH PERMISSION FROM THE MASSES via funding and moral support.

We have two choices when it comes to science....
Be so afraid of what COULD be done with new innovations that we throw out the science itself..... OR
Change the minds and hearts of the masses.

And frankly, since even water and food are now used as weapons, I would suggest that going back to the age of the cave man, with no scientific developments won't even work. Therefore only number two is a valid option....
CHANGE THE MINDS AND HEARTS OF THE MASSES.

And this requires patience and persistence and conviction. Not idolizing one person, or thinking one election will change anything. It has taken centuries for the evil to grow to the point it is now. It must take centuries of mass awakening to replace it with the good.

No matter what technology

is developed the psychopaths will find a way to weaponize it for controlling, terrorizing and killing people. That is what psychopaths do. Having been on the leading bleeding edge of so-called "New Science" for nearly 30 years I've seen there are unlimited funds to develop weapons and control mechanisms but precious little if any financial resources for benign or nurturing uses of those same technologies. And that is a shame because we see many people everywhere talking about a better world but they do little to nothing to support or make those efforts practical. Far too many people cannot walk their talk - and we see the results of that apathetic hypocrisy - needless wars, suffering and destruction.

Whenever someone says 'Free Electron Laser', I hear "Harmonizer"

This technology holds great promise for many life-enhancing applications...but our government sees only its' potential for destroying and killing.

I hate what they are doing. Hate.

Don't judge this project with

Don't judge this project with your ridiculous labels,

ultra powerful lasers have many applications, in fact its speculated that time travel would be possible with an ultra powerful laser causing a "swirl" effect in time space..

Technology is a tool, do not judge the tool itself.

Really hope you're not addressing this to me. Everything in this post is from the actual article, which you'd have seen if you clicked the link.

That is a nice thought in theory

but since when has there been a "tool" that wasn't abused by the powers that be?

I agree to an extent

Yes lasers have many beneficial applications, but all the warmongeres will be sure to use it to create more false flags and destroy more little civilizations to supposedly spread democracy.

Yes, I have a book called "Laser Propulsion"....

which was an actual scientific proposal for building a star ship capable of traveling through space-time at 4.3 light years per hour, using quantum tunneling.
