Ron Paul's Bid to End Afghan War Funding Blocked by Tea Party Backed GOP Reps.

(02-22) 04:00 PST Washington - -- Amid a battle in the House over how to cut billions in spending, liberal Rep. Barbara Lee of Oakland joined conservative Republicans Ron Paul of Texas and Walter Jones of North Carolina last week on a bill that could save more than $100 billion a year by ending the war in Afghanistan.

But they confront an even stranger coalition that opposes a quick pullout: President Obama and most of the 87 newly elected House Republicans, many of whom are backed by the Tea Party.

The Tea Parties need to be

The Tea Parties need to be aware of infiltration by politicians who have sold their souls to the globalists and special interests who now claim to be Tea Party candidates.

The Tea Parties need to purge the Neocons from their ranks. Remember, the Tea Party Movement is opposed to both the Democrat Republican party agendas of more government, less freedoms, undeclared wars, and theft through inflation.

My recommendation is for those active in the Tea Party Movement to expose the traitors. Make an example of the alleged "Tea Party" candidates who have shown their true colors. This will accomplish two goals. It will make further infiltration by Necons more difficult, and at the same time it will educate those in our ranks exactly what the Tea Party Movement is, and how it differs from the current GOP agenda.

This is...

the very sad reality

That's why it's critical

to seek out congressmen/women individually regardless of party affiliation (GOP,Dems,Ind,Green,Tea-party,etc.) We have to be vigilant in researching every candidate and then VOTE for that person that lines up most closely with our own Dr. Ron Paul! This "test vote" shows that just because you aligned yourself with the Tea Party doesn't necessarily mean you'll ditch the sheep skin to reveal how ravenous a wolf you truly are. Remember it only takes an irate minority keen to start brush fires in the peeps minds to effect the change we demand. Hold the feet of your elected officials to the fire while we still have that option! I fear the war mongers in government and media have got a strangle-hold on policy. We must change this and return to a sensible foreign policy, as Washington admonished during his farewell address. Lets rout the "war is peace" crowd out of Washington!

This just shows us the Neo Con

world is alive and well. Money pushes everything, especially politicians. It blinds all reason, and therefore intelligence. It's not a new game at all. Our Country is now reeling in the 100 or so years of this "root of all evil". Look at Chicago! They just put this stinking Rham as their leader. What a "new direction" that ought to be. I doubt we'll ever get the influence of money out of politics, but a good start would be with strict term limits, no retirement, no continuing benefits whatsoever, no further connection to government work (i.e. lobbyist). You simply go home, go back to your regular job, and live under the rules you pass. This would weed out 90% of the career money grabing politicians and their self perpetuating policies. I don't think our founding "dads" ever envisioned the extreme power of
money and greed. They were from a little more "humble" class. Oh, and as for the budget fix? What's wrong with simply announcing a 5% accross the board reduction in EVERY government expenditure. No politics, just arithmatic. Just apply the figure .95 to every government check, and that means Congress' pay too! Call it the 5% solution. And do it again next year, and the year after, until we are living within our means. I don't want to pat myself on the back, but I just solved in one paragraph what 435 Congressmen, and 100 Senators, and countless staffers haven't done.

We need to get out now.

Money, notwithstanding, we will have no way to get our troops out once conditions in the Middle East deteriorate to a certain point. The "chicken hawks" will be responsible for the annihilation of US forces in the Middle East, but you probably still won't hear a peep out othe MSM pointing fingers in the right direction.

This issue will ferret out which "Tea Party" members are...

...just establishment republican war-mongering wolves in sheeps' clothing.

As I suspected, most of those who called themselves Tea Party supporters don't really get it.

There needs to be a new name for liberty-minded candidates: "Ron Paul Republicans."

The name "Tea-Party" has been hijacked and co-opted by rat bastard Neo-Con republicans.

9/11 Truth.

Shocking!

Not.

If men are good, you don't need government; if men are evil or ambivalent, you don't dare have one.

Freedom is a statistical anomaly.

If you remember about a normal distribution from statistics 101, 95% of all occurrences should fall within three standard deviations of the mean. This leaves 2 1/2% of occurrences falling on each end of the distribution curve outside of the norm.

Note that in most elections, people voting for the Libertarian candidate comprise no more than 5% of the vote, and usually less than that.

You might conclude that those of us who want freedom are a statistically insignificant anomaly. The normal voter does not vote for freedom, but rather for whichever brand of plunder and control he favors.

Looks like the Tea-0-Cons are turning out to favor plunder in the form of empire.

I think of it metaphorically as an infection of the brain. Of course, I don't know if it is we or they who have the infection, but it looks to me like those who are driven to excessive fear of foreigners (in the case of Tea-O-Cons and neocons it is fear of Moslems) cannot stop obsessive preparation for war and obsessive policing of the world.

"Bend over and grab your ankles" should be etched in stone at the entrance to every government building and every government office.

The RINOS

Are still running the GOP.

Why does that not shock me, but I keep hoping for more.

The warmongers are very powerfull.

Ron Paul 2012

No Surprise

As soon as Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin became the voices for the 'Tea Party', the Tea Party as a wave of change was doomed. That's why Ron Paul never identified himself as a member of the Tea Party: he said that it can only maintain its integrity if it remains grassroots with no big-name politicians at the helm. (My paraphrasing.)

The GOOD news is that we're all still here, regardless of what we're called. And, even though this is a bit of a setback politically, it is merely a superficial one. Many news analysts (and even Jon Stewart) have already commented on the fact that the so-called Tea Party movement had two distinct camps: those who followed Ron Paul and liberty, and those who followed people like Palin and no associated principle.

Since TP backed Congressmen

are turning on the party this early, I'm thinking the TP has already served it's purpose. They use it once, then throw it away.

Tea Party Express

To distance ourselves from the NeoCon bandwagon jumpers who are only trying to distance themselves from Bush , perhaps we need to call ourselves the Liberty Campaign of the Republican Party and establish a list of principals. If anyone wants to claim to be with us we will have a yardstick by which to measure.

And let people know as its eveolved the Tea Party IS simply a vehicle to distance themselves from the general unpopularity of Bush - but that those people are nothing but repackaged standard issue NeoCon Republicans.

Tea Party Express

The Washington Post website is a good one to check how your Congressman voted - but curiously they also break the vote down into several catagories including "Tea Party Endorsed". Interestingly enough according to the Washington Post - Ron Paul is NOT endorsed by the Tea Party - which seems very funny to me - because Ron STARTED THE TEA PARTY.

We know that.

But the rest of the world, including Fox News has hijacked the movement to both discredit it and if that doesn't work to make Sarah Palin its chief representative. To cover all the bases. The majority of Congressmen who call themselves Tea Party are simply NeoCons with another label. They want to reduce spending by ONLY cutting social programs and entitlements - isn't that EXACTLY what NeoCons want?

It simply became desireable recently to call yourself Tea Party and every NeoCon and his brother is doing it. It also gives them a way to distance themselves from Bush - even if their political beliefs are identical to his.

The Tea Party is a quasi political party as it has no organization and no platform - nobody can call a Tea Party member for failing to follow the ideals as there are no hard and fast written ideals.

Sadly Tea Party doesn't mean anything anymore EXCEPT "I'm a Republican, not like Bush though (but really yes I am)."

thx dude, i will check that out right

now!

Im not sure, but maybe the reason there is no vote record on this is the following form that same article above.

A test vote on Jones' amendment to a House bill to fund the government for the rest of the year would have stripped $400 million from a new fund to build Afghanistan's infrastructure. It failed, with support from 36 Republicans, including just a handful of freshmen.

It was a "TEST VOTE". not an actual vote.

LIBERTY OR DEATH!!!

This is exactly what the judge warned us about...

He mentions co-op'ed, but in reality these are hijack neo conservatives in sheeps clothing. Look on the bright side, in 2008 we never thought we would see the judge in his own show, nor would we have guessed that Stossel would be on Fox with his own show preaching the true conservative truths to the sheep. Now we must focus on those in place such as Rand and others that follow the constitution, because the military industrial complex is hard at work on the others, some harder than others and it appears many that were waiting on their golden goose, and for them it has arrived. They have already fallen into the trap of voting for their own self interests, nation be damned. We must continue to support the likes of Paul, John J. Duncan Jr., and those anti war folks that also support the constitution. We must let the blue dogs know that if they are anti war, truly conservative, and follow the constitution that we will support them as well. Makes me wonder if we should not have a "We the People" lobby in Washington with the money we can raise we could buy off the house and congress to vote for constitutional mandates to stop the corruption and dire ignorance in foreign policy that guarantees only to provide the war machine with never ending business. We better do something before they decide that it is profitable to turn their machines of war on us.

There is only one Tea Party...

Always has been, because Neoconservatives HAVE NO HONESTY OR LOYALTY or Patriotism to their Fellow American...only to Money just like Demo-cons.

There is only 2 votes that all candidates fall under.
Federalist's or Anti-Federalist's.

Federalist's are for One World Government.
Anti Federalist's are Many Nations...many governments.

No United Nations...as it undermines representation of individual nations.

Ron Paul and like minded sons of liberty...ARE THE ONLY TEA PARTY.

LIBERTY OR DEATH!!!

Most of the Tea Partiers are

Most of the Tea Partiers are hypocrites. They say they want to balance the budget without drastic increases in taxes but there isn't a single thing of any significance that they'll cut.

Third party?

All of this is beginning to make me sick...literally sick. Tea party?! That's been co-opted too, by the Neocons. I even see this in my own state. They are not only warmongers, they cut in the name of their pet social agendas. There's such a fight going on in my home state that makes me so angry that I know better than to comment on the article in the local paper or in this site...I will only be roundly attacked and told how unenlightened I am. The only thing I'll say is that it makes me angry enough to change parties...for the fourth time in three years.

Smaller government means just that...smaller government. When are they going to get it?

This illustrates why the two party system is not really working in our country. Voters need viable alternatives.
