Is Herman Cain VP material for Dr Paul?

I don't know much about the guy at all. I hear he's for the gold standard, but I also understnad that he worked at the Federal Reserve

I used to think possibly so...

But not now. Cain is very correct on many issues but wrong on a few key ones.

But I heard him on a radio show once and he was excellent.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

Cain is a mixed bag

One the one hand he says he would like a gold standard, then on the other he opposes an audit of the Fed (where he used to work) and actually mocked the idea on his radio show saying that the audit bill was based on ignorance and that anyone who wanted to learn what the Fed was doing should "call them and have one of their PR people explain it."

When he came to Iowa, some people pressed him on it and he said he would neither support nor oppose an audit because he felt it was unnecessary. Well, its one thing to not take a position on something because its not your issue, but he's running for President. He'd either sign the audit bill or veto it, and he won't even say which.

So to summarize, he's dead wrong on Ron Paul's signature issue, so I'd say no to him being VP.

On the other issues, he's been a loyal Republican for a long time, he's a my-party-right-or-wrong guy. If someone like Romney wins the nomination, I'd put money down that he picks Cain as his running mate, though.

While its way to soon to speculate on Paul's running mate, its always a fun game. Personally, I'd like to see Gary Johnson on the top of the ticket and Dr. Paul steering his agenda through the House. But if we could get Paul the nomination, Johnson would be the ideal #2. Outside of that, I'd like Paul to skip over mainstream GOP politicians and name a successful, younger, libertarian-minded CEO as VP. TJ Rogers of Sun would fit the bill, or the CEO of Overstock.com who max-donated to Paul in 2008.

Nope. I've Met Him. Nice Guy, But Not Our Guy

I worked for a PAC that brought him in as a speaker on a number of occasions. I spent a lot of time driving him around and setting up for his speaches. Super nice guy, but he's a RINO.

Herman Cain???

"Herman Cain, former Chairman and Member of the Board of Directors for the
Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City..."

I'd love to see Judge Andrew Napolitano as Ron's VP. After him, Governor Gary Johnson.

Nope!

Not even close.

From Herman Cain -

"the efforts of our Commander-in-chief and our military are greatly appreciated throughout the world"

"There is a growing understanding across the world that the U.S. is serious about promoting freedom and democracy."

" We must vigilantly protect our rights here at home, but also help those across the globe who have not yet tasted freedom."

"It is no wonder that too many American citizens continue to wrongly believe our economy is struggling, or that our military has achieved few successes in fighting the global war on terrorism."

"What’s right about America is the strength of America."

Only Ticket That Will Protect Paul's Safety Is Paul/Paul 2012

This is why Rand needs to run for President as well.

The banksters, big oil and military industrial complex can't kill both of them without having a real live revolution on their hands.

Rand needs to run... he is the best protection / insurance plan for his fathers health.

Remember, the second central bank of the United States hired the assassin that shot Andrew Jackson.

Ron Paul and Rand Paul are Andrew Jackson times two.

.

Run RAND, RUN!

.

Let Ron Paul pick

I'm sure Ron Paul will pick a VP that we will all be on board with. He is not going to put political expediency above principle. When was the last time he did that?

no.

I'm looking for a PAUL / PAUL ticket.
IT WILL WIN!!!!!!!!

WTF?

first we need to get the good doc running for Christ Sake -- then we can start pondering what VP candidate would be suitable.

Thomas Sowell or Walter

Thomas Sowell or Walter Williams would be much better VP candidates.
