Monsanto's Roundup Ready Crops Contain Organism Causing Animal Miscarriages, Scientist Says

"Purdue University's Emeritus Professor Don M. Huber presented the findings of the research, which observed the new organism using a 36,000X electron microscope. According to Treehugger, the organism can cause disease in both plants and animals, a rare feat."

No, not the maker of Agent Orange?!

Shocking!

If men are good, you don't need government; if men are evil or ambivalent, you don't dare have one.

You know about their aluminum tolerant seeds

yep, thats because of a decade plus of chemtrails the soil is saturated.

Doesn't Monsanto..

Doesn't Monsanto make you think of how in the movie "Idiocracy" the company basically took control of the land and water supply which they then switched to a gatorade knock-off and wondered why crops wouldn't grow? It's quite sad how many similarities you will see in that movie and real life.

LOVE Idiocracy !

In the movie, when anyone would question why the sports drink is bad for plants, the zombie sheep would bleat: "but its got electrolytes"

Also, the entire population wears logo-laden sportswear.

It hits very close to home ;-(

Is the proof somewhere?

Has anyone seen the data or a picture of what the electron microscope displayed?

If it's true then anyone with access to this type of equipment should be able to replicate the experiment and see this organism.

I think Monsanto is a disaster for the planet and would love to see this theory proven. Otherwise it just discredits the Anti-Monsanto (anti-GM) movement as half-cocked loons.

Avoid all corn, soy, canola (rapeseed oil), and ...

Almost all corn, soy, canola, and ____ (I forget) in the U.S. is GMO against Round-up. Don't eat it.

I don't care how powerful Monsanto's clout is, we out-number them. Also, if we were to call all our favorite restaurant chain-store 800 numbers and/or contact them online, asking if they're using GMO corn in their foods, they have lobbyists, too...

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

rapeseed oil

sounds like serious business.

This article has the full letter to the USDA from Professor Huber

"When one gets in bed with government,
one must expect the diseases it spreads."
‎"It's not like I'm a powerful person. My ideas are."

A quote from the open letter

A quote from the open letter by the professor:
"This previously unknown organism is only visible under an electron microscope (36,000X), with an approximate size range equal to a medium size virus. It is able to reproduce and appears to be a micro-fungal-like organism. If so, it would be the first such micro-fungus ever identified. There is strong evidence that this infectious agent promotes diseases of both plants and mammals, which is very rare."

As a microbiologist there are a few things that stick out.
1. An organism that is the size of a virus that can reproduce. By definition a virus can not reproduce without a host. It physically can not fit the required DNA and proteins into its capsule.
2. The term "micro-fungus". By definition a fungus is a eukaryote, meaning it contains a nucleus. Any nucleus is going to be orders of magnitude larger than any virus.

Generally when a scientists presents information that does not fit into our understanding of life there are two possibilites. The first being that this is the discovery of the decade, a new domain of live never before seen that will change the way we define life. The second, and much more likely, is that the observations are not what they seem.

Personally I would be highly skeptical.

Is there a possibility

that it could have been a "created or GMO life form" that was somehow manufactured by a company that has abilities in that area like Monsanto?

Several major research groups

Several major research groups have been attempting to "build an organism from the ground up". Basically making an bacteria from scratch to perform a single function, such as producing a chemical compound. This area of science is called synthetic biology. They have been able to make some very stripped down organisms, based on pathogenic bacteria that live inside of a host cell. This has all been done with a bacterial model. Bacteria are hundreds, if not thousands, of times larger than viruses. With our present knowledge of DNA replication, you can not fit the required gene encoding DNA or proteins into a virus capsule. It is not physically possible. A virus size organism capable of replication would require a completely different mechanism for replication.

So, are you throwing out everything in the above part of your comment???

Would I throw out all of his

Would I throw out all of his observations? Absolutely not. I haven't seen his data, so I can't pass any judgement on whether it is real or not. But, based on the little information that was given in the open letter I am very skeptical.

"Dear Mr. President," wrote some fool blogger on HuffPo.

Why are these liberal emptyheads wasting their time writing to HIM?!

The President is not the president, he's some sort of misguided missile, steered in whichever direction the person standing closest to him wishes to go.

In this case, to completely dominating the global food supply and squeezing every dime out of the poisoned, starving masses.

If America elects television superstars like this and then we're all force-fed plutonium corn flakes, we get what we deserve!

Not even starving impoverished African countries will touch this crap, but the President, Rosa DeLauro, and all these other super-elites have no problem getting big payoffs for poisoning US with it.

Because....

We are the guinea pigs!

GMO Foods are not more productive, and they have caused my natural fields to be decimated by creation of herbicide and insecticide resistant insects. (Plus, basically no winter this last year....it's just weather tho!)

It is all snowballing now, sadly.

...is what the GMO situation reminds me of. I'm in the country surrounded by GMO crops. About the only thing a person can do is educate and plant an isolated non-GMO crop that is not grown in the area. I agree that Monsanto=Evil. Also, (subsidized)Ethanol(GMO)corn=Evil
END ALL SUBSIDIES!

My question, is about this "organism".
Need an explanation in layman's terms.

Ten years of GM soy and glyphosate poisoning have escalated the rates of cancer and birth defects.

And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”
