Never donated to it before, and probably won't ever see it in person (in AZ, not near Phoenix in case it goes to the Super Bowl) but I think it's worth it.

During the fourth quarter, the state of Maryland has accounted for 3% of Ron Paul's online donors. Today, with the blimp overhead, the figure "ballooned" to 7%.

With the better weather and exposure, the sometimes working video feed, the on board videographers from The Jim Lehrer News Hour and Slate, the constant calls to "save Trevor" and the internet radio reports from the blimp itself, fundraising went somewhat better and now stands at over $300K collected.

However, at the current fund raising rate it will take 7 or 8 days to complete the goal of $400K. If it takes another week of constant posting on this board to raise that cash, most of the participants on this board will probably be ready for straight jackets by then.

If some brave/stupid/wonderful/rich SOB would simply cut the blimp guys a check for $100,000, you would probably be saving the Paul campaign a million dollars worth of good simply be ending this distraction! you would also raise the ires of the FEC which might bring even more free publicity to the campaign.

P.S., In case you are wondering, I did my part and donated today.

I had not planned to donate to this particular cause, and under similar circumstances in the future may not. I will drop $50 in the can for this one because I don't want to see a Patriot/Supporter like Lyman (and crew) thrown under the bus.

I think/thought that the blimp was a great idea. It has paid for itself in MSM coverage. This, however, was not going to be one of my pet projects. I'm watching as the project is floundering after having astronomical pledges and not enough follow through.

So, yes, I for one will step up to the plate and give (this time) because I do not want to see hindenburghs across the MSM airwaves, and Lyman (and crew) deserve better. I don't think that it is the MOST worthy cause, but it is a Worthy cause just the same.

If your of a like mind, drop in as much as you feel comfortable with, if not, no hassle have a nice day.

I saw the video of the second banner being put on (YAY!), but I haven't seen any footage of that side of the blimp while in flight. Has any been posted on the internet anywhere?

Also, if anyone out there spots the blimp in flight and catches it on film, it would be great to also capture the reactions of people on the ground too! Just a "pretty please" request to any blimp seekers with video cameras! Still photos would be great, too!
