Back in 97...

Went through something a little similar back in 97'. Band had played in the same rehearsal spot in a rec room in a residential area since 92'. One day, in the middle of the day, the band is rehearsing and cops are at the door. Long story short they stated if we did not immediately cease playing they would confiscate all our equipment. We challenged them as we had played there consistently for 5 years! The property owner did not want trouble and in respect to the owner who had been very gracious to us we moved our operation. Within a short time frame an actual for profit rehearsal studio near this location was "raided" late at night and all the bands told the same thing. Bored cops that wanted to seize property.

Since it's prohibition ...

77 million americans have tried marijuana,
11 million americans have been arrested.
If all these people believe cannabis is a good thing, like the Rastafarian's of Jamaica and elswhere around the world, well,
add that in america, one in forty persons is in prison for marijuana ...
these millions represent a religion/belief that is being oppressed, harassed/terrorized, demoralized, property confiscated, separation from children, even killed ...
that the cannabis people ...
may be the most oppressed religion in the United States.

And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”

Two summers ago on a Saturday Morning at 11:00 am

My (Classic Rock)band was practicing in my back yard.
A neighbor complained that he had an ill child, and asked if we would lower the volume of our amps.
We did,and kept playing.

an hour later two local Sheriffs deputy's show up and say that they got a noise complaint. One of the deputy's said that it didn't sound loud to him,but if they had to come back, they would confiscate all of our instruments P.A.'s Drums, mic's.guitars etc.
so we were forced to just quit playing. I think that on a Saturday at 11:00am you should be able to make a lil' noise! Whadda you guys think?
