Who wants to update the copyright laws?

A lot of good, hard working, and innocent people including disabled are being sued by Righthaven because of loopholes in Fair Use exemptions under Copyright law. I just contacted my districts senators and congresspeople to spearhead copyright law to update fair use exemptions to cover Internet postings, Youtube videos (and other streaming sites), and Internet related matters.

That way Wronghaven can no longer be in the business of suing people over postings or images from the Las Vegas Review Journal, Denver Post, or any other newspaper.

Fair Use must be updated to cover Internet postings, and other kinds of online activities to prevent poor and disabled bloggers from being sued for copyright infringement ever again.

You can do this to when you contact your districts congresspeople or senators including Ron Paul tell him or her this:

When their office picks up your phone call tell them that you like them to spearhead the copyright law.

Then when they want you to state an example of why the Fair Use Exemptions need to be updated then tell them about Righthaven and them suing disabled bloggers (Brian Hill of USWGO and another disabled blogger being sued), college students with little money, and poor folks that cannot afford legal representation.

If they ask you what they think needs updating tell them:

I like for Fair Use Exemptions to cover Internet postings, Streaming video/audio, online petitions, and anything transmitted over the Internet to have legal protections of Fair Use if used for educational and political purposes thus protected under the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.

So who is with me to reform copyright law and update Fair Use to cover Internet postings?

Dead Serious News is where USWGO first found the patdown photo | dragonforjustice

Is there an authority to check the standards of Righthaven?

I don't live in the USA so I don't know how things work, but what I can't understand is how a company such as Righthaven can exist? They start legal proceedings, yet act like a mafia by harassing vulnerable people into illegal actions by demanding payment out of court from their disability money. You only have to do a google search for this company to see they're copyright trolls who are abusing the law to make money. From what I have read, they didn't even inform Brian Hill to remove the image before starting legal proceedings, after he shared the image on his non-profit site after he saw the share button. He didn't even find out he was being sued until a reporter informed him. The reason I'm interested is because I'm curious as to if the USA has professional standards for companies such as RightHaven? I'm also curious why the Denver Post would risk their reputation by being involved in that company? I always thought the USA was a country for freedom and justice, and yet I read about this story and it sounds awful.

Also Dead Serious News also

Also Dead Serious News also mentions "San Francisco International Airport" so how could Brian have intentionally known that he was specifically hurting the Denver Post or Colorado if he even caused harm to begin with.

If that image is protected under California Law then how do we know if Craig F. Walker really took the photo. He could have lied and it may not even have been Denver International airport. Craig F. Walker could even be a liar trying to make out like he took the photo because people do steal other peoples copyrights.

I'm not stating this so he can't sue me for defamation because Dead Serious News has always had the picture, their posts are even more popular then USWGO and they are not sued. That means theres a chance they took the photo and not Denver Post photographer Craig F. Walker.

Actually the truth is Brian

Actually the truth is Brian got the image from Dead Serious News that also had the photo of the patdown but for some reason Righthaven couldn't legally go after them and here might be why. California has a law code that states that once something is released on the Internet it is automatically copyrighted and so state law protects Dead Serious News and so if that is all correct then because of the 10th amendment of the Constitution that gaves states rights as well then the Federal Government cannot mess with California law just to sue people in California.

Heres a link to the Dead Serious News article:

yes this was where Brian first found the image I witnessed him doing this as I was also helping Brian in his exposure of the revolt against the TSA patdowns.

So dead serious news is where Brian first found the image so he credited them I guess since the exhibit in the court docket shows the infringing photo and then Dead Serious News link below the image. That means he assumed copyright went to Dead Serious News. Someone needs to mention this to judge Kane.

Since Dead Serious News was protected under state law those who posted the photo from Dead Serious News would also be liable for copyright infringement. Something sounds wrong about all this!

This is also proof can be sent to the judge via the link below:

http://www.zimbio.com/TSA+Rules+and+Regulations/articles/Gnj...

Everything uswgo posts is automatically syndicated to other sites such as zimbio.com and more and this proves that uswgo had a link to dead serious news and that is where he found the image originally but the image was small and so he looked for a bigger image and found it.

Reform Copyright Law

Copyright laws need to reflect the realities of how politics is debated and discussed in the Internet Age. Photos like the TSA pat-down were not only used to illustrate people's frustration over the TSA pat-downs but became part of the national discussion. This photo is of national and historic importance and now has been reduced to nothing more than a tool to line Righthaven's pockets.

I totally agree we need the

I totally agree we need the copyright laws to reflect political discussions in the Internet age.

Come on People many gripes

Come on People many gripes about Righthaven being unfair and so the only way stop their frivolous lawsuits is by updating the statutes of Fair Use specifically cover Internet Postings, streaming video including sites like youtube, and places like blogtalkradio and other Internet related channels/protocols.

We need to prevent these lawsuits from happening again.

Heck look what they did to

Heck look what they did to two websites already.

http://www.rockymountainright.com/

http://uswgo.com/

and way loads of even more websites may start shutting down over fear of lawsuits due to loopholes in Fair Use. We can't deny this is true because it talks about phonographs (Or something like that) and so copyright is really old before the Internet and so Righthaven believes the Internet is the new suing frontier. That is why we need copyright and fair use reform.
