Aaron Russo's last message to

Aaron Russo's last message to humanity urges us to demand a government of the people, by the people and for the people - rather than of the institutions, by the institutions and for the institutions! That is exactly the reason we must become more aware of the dangers of globalization and of losing our sovereignty - both individually and nationally. One avenue of the globalist agenda is through privitization. Since the early 1980s, privatization of public services has grown to include tollways, airports, railroads, health facilities, electrical services, telephone services and various others. This movement toward privatization is seen as a Western movement and a further push toward globalization.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_privatization
Buried within Wisconsin Governor Walker's new budget is the plan to sell heating, cooling, and energy plants for "no bid", which translates into bargain rates for private buyers, with no concern for the legally-defined public interest. We must become aware! This is just the beginning! The elitist global network will privatize us straight out of sovereignty and staight into globalization, if we allow it! I'm sure that if Aaron Russo were still with us, he would stand with me on this issue. Won't anyone here stand with me in his stead? For Liberty!

You can pick heads on a gold coin

and try to put others on tails. What you haven't figured out is alot of people don't even prefer a coin of gold. They are more likely to prefer a shot of Gold or silver or even lead. I forgot how good freedom to fascism really was just watched it over again and must say it is FANTASTIC! Every American should see it.

Who's next, katherine?

Is there no OP on the DP that you won't shamelessly hi-jack in order to plug your pet anti-Walker project, 'katherine'?

Come on, you take a great liberty lover's last message to humanity out of context and all that you can contribute about it is to suggest that he posthumously supports your narrowly focused campaign?

I don't know that much about Walker. But, I suspect that he is not that much better and probably not that much worse than 99% of all of our elected politicians. I do know that your new 'privatization' tack against him is the latest manifestation of your original and unpopular 'don't-take-collective-bargaining-away-from-the-teachers' position that winds back through many OP threads over the last weeks.

Your desperation is beginning to work against your effectiveness in winning hearts and minds to your worldview on this topic, IMO.

Who's next? Will you post on the John Lennon OP that popped back up earlier today, take one of his quotes out of context and claim that if John was alive today that he would totally support your anti-Walker rantings?

Nice try

I am fairly certain that Russo would be against government unions. He was a libertarian. I am sure Russo would stand apart from your socialistic positions. As a libertarian he likely would opt for privatization but certainly would not advocate government collusion and favoritism of corporations and industries - so no bid contracts, and non-competitive monopolies on services would not be condoned. Without government interference, competition can provide cheaper and superior choices for consumers, even in utilities. Liberty does not require government to take care of or be involved in every service, even vital services.

Please allow me to explain...

The problem of corruption, due to greed, is always a possibility which must be addressed. The reason that public services can be considered "natural monopolies", is that those services are provided most economically by only one firm. Permitting two sets of water pipes or entirely separate telephone or electrical lines would be wasteful and inefficient in the extreme. Instead of controlling costs and maximizing efficiency through competition, government agencies regulate the prices and services of these companies to ensure that they offer the best possible prices to their customers and still receive a satisfactory rate of return on their investments. The number of such "natural monopolies" is actually quite small and accounts for only a small proportion of the economic activity in most market economies. A more common, and in many ways more complex, problem arises when one industry is dominated by a few large institutions or firms, through privatization. There is a real danger that these firms may collude to set higher prices and to limit entry by new, competing firms.

incorrect

The phone system monopoly is a good example. Now that we have more choices in our local and long distance carriers many people opt for cheaper and better services than were offered by AT&T. Phone companies must be creative and compete for business. Without government cronyism, the private sector can work out infrastructure issues to the consumer's and the industry's advantage. As it is, the monopoly (and the infrastructure) has been conveyed to one non-competitive crony of the government in most utilities.

ahhhh Aaron

First video I watched after seeing a Ron Paul speech. What an eye opener f2f was. We should have a Aaron Russo day where we do something in his name. maybe a money bomb for him to Ron Paul. He would love that. Man chokes me up Thinking about him. What a true patriot he was. We lost a good one there man.

Thank you!

Aaron Russo, a true patriot, is sorely missed.
