The Torch Carrier

Let there be no doubt, that Rand Paul will carry the torch.

"A true competitor wants their opponent at their best." Lao Tzu

RAND is the "hook" for old fashioned conservatives

I don't know if it was planned, or if it just has happened because it WOULD.... but RAND Paul is our "hook" for bringing "conservatives" into the liberty movement.

He is a Tea Party favorite... he was supported by Sarah.... THIS VIDEO is FANTASTIC for grabbing the enthusiasm of the "normal" conservative base. (It has already worked for me with some of my family members). They LISTEN to Rand, even if they think his Dad is a bit off the wall. They aren't "afraid" of hooking onto Rand because he is popular and doesn't have a "past" in their minds.

RAND is going to be the BRIDGE we need to bring us together! And I don't even know if he knows it! HOORAY for this unafraid and unrepentent FRESHMAN Senator!!!

Thomas Jefferson: “Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever."

Viva La Revolucion!

I just LOVE Rand Paul

...I do believe that the people there took his toilet remarks as silly..or childish...and thinks most would...The only way to stop that would be to have an old and new toilet together...put a sign on the old saying..uses this much water and good 98% of the time in just 1 flush..but sorry..its bad for you..government said so
On the new put..only uses this amount of water..will take you 20 flushes..in truth saving you no water..no money..cost this much more to install..has this many more problems...BUT YOU MUST BUY IT CAUSE GOVERNMENT SAID SO

High praise continues ... and news of light bulb legislation :)

"... I actually wanted to watch the rest of the hearing! I especially liked the crestfallen deer-in-the-headlights mouth opening and closing totally gobsmacked reaction from Dr. Hogan at the end.

Thanks, Rand. You said it for all of us!"

This was great! It reminds me

This was great! It reminds me of the Seinfeld episode "The Shower Head." Kramer does not like it:

malo periculosam libertatem quam quietum servitium

I am an aristocrat. I love liberty; I hate equality. - John Randolph of Roanoke

I haven't seen that episode before. Actually when I saw Rand speak about his desire for a better flushing toilet it made me think of Al Bundy's affection for Ferguson toilets and their extreme flushing capabilities. BAAHH-WHOOOOSH!

Clear Them Out!

Usually, I spend most of my Internet time sending messages to the President and members of Congress about big oil and what it is doing to our economy. Well, we've heard it all as to what is or who is to blame. The big joke around our house has been for some time now, if oil and gas prices go up; someone has stumped his toe. We hear "cut spending" is why the government reps say they were sent to Washington, and it doesn’t make any difference whether Democrat, Republican, or TEA PARTIER. Now, it’s the markets and the hidden speculators. (Just another excuse in a long list for our government to dodge the issue.)
Starting back in the late 1990's, I warned those of our government that we were headed for a bankrupt economy if federal and state laws were not passed to ward off "price gouging" and the artificial setting of market prices for oil. I went so far in 2003 to email every representative and senator, even the President. (Incidentally, Hillary Clinton returned her email and told me to talk to some other senator.) The message was simple and plain, "Take care of the oil companies or get ready to be sent home!"
Of course, that was ignored and the government shifted in representation. I felt I represented the average voter in the U.S. then, and I still feel the same way today. We didn’t vote for anyone, but against. Without the required federal laws to perform adequate investigations on the oil companies and their investments, our economy is doomed. Lame Congressional hearings with big oil executives are not enough. We need to take back our government from the oil companies and their cronies.
So, I guess we do it again, "Clear Them Out!"
Join me and tell our government, “We’ve had enough!”

Larry Whitfield

Wrong tree

Larry - you're barking up the wrong tree. True, big oil are massive capital empires. But, your last sentence "join me and tell our government, 'we've had enough' --- sad to say, shows you don't get it.

The Federal government doesn't care what you or I think about this topic. The Feds are in collusion, together with OPEC kingdomes like Saudi Arabia.

If you really want to strike back, get everybody to ride a bike and reduce demand. Other, just another wet dream.

Something Jack Hunter

was writing about the other day, about how un-extreme American politics are.

Isn't it amazing how much horse sense was in that speech, yet we jawdrop at how we've not heard such hutzpah in the Senate in a while?

Defend Liberty!

Very Well Said Rand

Confident, articulate, almost cocky and so self assured. It just doesn't get any better than this. Well done Rand!

so so

It was good. Then he cratered during follow up questioning and lost focus. He then bemused he had been waiting 20 years to talk about toilets now workiing.

Sorry folks, the initial message was great. But the effect was not.

What you just witnessed is the classic Ms. bureaucrat male hating lesbian versus a good guy.

Bereaucrat won this one.

I hate to admit it but I

I hate to admit it, David, but I think you may have a point. Rand left after his turn with Ms. Hogan but was absent for the fallout. The 2nd half discussion on light bulbs sounds innocuous but one lone consumer advocate, among five industry barkers, was outlining the perils of the new light bulbs, their hazards and the lack of discussion around the bulb effect on the whole lamp system and the true reality of their cost. He could have used Rand's support at the hearing.

Rand Paul, Thank you so much. Well presented.

It is quite simple, really.

Freedom to choose our own products for our own homes. Simple. Amazing that such a debate is necessary.

Government could be self reserved. It could be like living in

The United States of Self Reserve.

All 50 states, each having their own

"Bureau of Self Reliance."

Easy to do. Just constrict funding of all restrictions.

Fed out of control

Look people, what really needs to happen is for the US to break into segments. It is too big anymore to govern like this anymore.

Look at the population explosion the past 100 years in North America. Yet we still have the same number of senators and house reps.

If you think our military spennding is out of control on fighting foreign wars to feed the military economic machine, with no victory win in site - then a sure fire way to do it, is to reduce the size of the government and break the US into segments to manageable populations to set their regional policies.

Southwest America - Texas Oklahoma, NM, Arkansas, Louisiana, Kansas, Missouri.
SE America - Alabama, Florida etc
Liberal Northeast America - NY, Mass, etc etc
West America - California, Oregon, Nevada.

etc etc.

Each one has their own military and coinage.

No more Federal Reserve

Back to gold and silver and for paying for things without debt.

Coffee break? Florida Population explosion? My exagerrations?

Are you referring to my coffee breaks? Some say the US is already broke; I surmise it is only the silly banking system; America has long suffered it. I am not in favor of breaking the US nor my coffee indulgences.

Are you referring to my birth in 1835? The population did go up 1%.... from 99 to 100; commendable, but not an explosion. Folks tell me that adding me made it to 100%.

End the Fed: Loaning you blind, since 1913.

Perhaps, on this we may agree. Thanks for stopping by.

United States Freedom Reserve?

"Amazing that such a debate is necessary."

Indeed. We have to argue in the United States Senate that we have a right to buy toilets?

So many jokes to be had.

Tuma toon coming?

this is true - good comment

so true, all these suits talking about toilets.
speaks for itself.
Washington DC is a tyranny, people. Wake up!

The IRS is their enforcer.
The Federal Reserve their enabler.

The masses of people are the sheep.

Bah Bah Bah.

Beautifully put!

Maybe the morons behind Rand

Maybe the morons behind Rand could be asked to leave their phones at the door so they can not be texting or playing games while the senator is speaking. Don't know who they are but they need to be removed!

You Bet I'm Sick to Death of the BUSYBODIES!!!

I'm sick of my car "telling me" to put my seat belt on with those insane beeps...

I'm sick of my refridgerator "telling me" to close the door with those insane beeps...

I'm sick of not being able to have a HOT water wash AND rinse in my washing machine as everyone who has half a brain knows you don't kill germs with cold water...

I'm sick of low flow - water savers, spelled NO water - in everything as if we didn't know that wasted water goes BACK into the ground, into the water supply...

I'm sick of alot of things MANDATED by our Big Brother Nanny government of UNelected, tyrannical, control-freak FOOLS who without a doubt live FAR better than most of us who spend most of their time trying to figure out more obtuse ways to enslave us all!

"Bad men cannot make good citizens. It is when a people forget God that tyrants forge their chains. A vitiated state of morals, a corrupted public conscience, is incompatible with freedom." Patrick Henry

"Busybody" is my new favorite word

I love that Rand told her he blamed HER for his lack of choices, and I love that he told her she was, personally, a Busybody. Perfect description.

Her face was twitching at the end.

My Crapper Just Broke..Where Is That "BITCH" At !

Maybe If I Put That Scag In The Toliet It Would Probably Flush Itself..Stupid Nag..

Common Logic.....

This is the stuff everybody knows, but seemingly never addressed. Bout time someone says it like it is.

Doesn't Rand know that you're not supposed to tell the emperor "your naked"?
