Glenn Beck Advertisement on the top of Daily Paul! Cha-ching! :)

It's appalling that the Daily Paul would carry advertisement for Glenn Becks books right on the top of the page! Appalling I say!

Of course I'm being sarcastic. I love to have the opportunity to learn more about the book while supporting the Daily Paul :)

Who's with me?

Are you people that dumb

When you see a google add on a website, it is from your own browser. I cant believe anyone would actually think that the Daily Paul would be running an add for Glenn Beck, thats hilarious. If you are seeing a Glenn Beck add its because you were on Glenn Becks site itself or a related site, thats the way Google works. I have never seen a Glenn Beck add on this site because I do not go to any Glenn Beck related sites. As for the comment below from "theguy" that says "Glenn Beck is a fellow libertarian" ,,,hahahaha man are you ever brainwashed,,,,you should stop watching so much Fox. Glenn Beck is very ANTI Ron Paul so wake up and smell the BS ,,,if you are a true Ron Paulite how can you say you like Glenn Beck when he goes on TV and tells his viewers that Ron Paul supporters are the equivalent of Terrorists. Some times I see the most ridiculous posts on this site, its truly sad.

Ahh... where is the Love in your Revolution KanadaLUV?

Your comment seems pretty negative for an upbeat website like the Daily Paul.

Have fun, enjoy the posts, take them for what they sometimes are, light-hearted commentary.

Bring the LUV back to Kanadia!

Yes, Google tracks you.

If you visit a website (GlenBeck.com) that advertises with Google, then you will very likely see an ad for GlenBeck.com on other websites that display ads from Google.

Pay attention to Google ads you see on other sites and you may see a lot of "coincidences" as in "hey, I just visited that lighting store and now I'm seeing their ads"

Most ads on the DP are NOT from Google, but those that are, are influenced by your browsing behavior. The term is called "behavioral targeted ads"

I find it creepy myself.

Oh, and if you wanted to research this yourself, be sure you use Bing or Yahoo because you won't easily find negative information about Google, on Google.

I agree with your opening line

rather is is disgusting and DP is guilty by association.
Any progressive who checks this site out with hopes of turning for RP
will run away fast - cause they just smelled a rat.
Really GB really?
i don't need to look inside a trash can to know it is trash.

i gotta go throw up

Where is the LOVE brother? Artists are supposed to think outsid

Artists are supposed to think outside the box :)

I think it awesome to have the opportunity to help the DP by clicking on the NEOCON ads to learn more about their products.

If the supposed 'progressive' is close minded enough to run at the sight of an advertisement then I don't think there was much of a chance for him to find the truth... either here, or elsewhere.

Keep LOVE in the ReLOVEvution and click on!

Top Ad

I may be incorrect with this, maybe one of the techie mods can confirm this.. That top ad is a Google ad, which auto-loads various ads which reference what you (your computers IP address) has been search for over the internet.. Google will track what you have searched for, then put up an ad that they think will best interest you.
These ads also tend to be way wrong when they try to associate your interests with thing that it advertises for. For example, if you search for Tea Party, or Liberty, or even Ron Paul in their search engine, google could lump you into "conservative" style ads, which according to it, would be something like Beck. It will also make assumptions based on the site itself, which is probably why it also pops up ads about gold, or gold confiscation (which is showing for me right now), on this site. "Fixing the economy is hard.. Buying a new computer is easy" was the windows ad that came up there, when i refreshed this page.. See how it tries to reference ads for they type of crowd here?
Also, if you happen to make the mistake of clicking on a sponsored ad when doing a google search, an ad for that product will almost always show up in the google banners..

Ads on DP Question???

Not sure how all the advertising works, I'm not a web marketing kinda guy, but just wondering if the DP/Michael gets anything when we just click an ad. Or do we actually have to buy something on "the other side" of that ad?

The reason I ask is, I find myself never clicking on any of the ads, but if I new for sure the DP/Michael received something just for the clicks, then I would make it a part of my daily routine, before reading a single post, click on all the ads, have them pop up in a different browser pane or such, then afterwards continue my daily reading. I'd think this wouldn't take up too much time, and if it benefits DP, it'd be well worth the effort. And just think about how much we could help Michael and the DP if we all made it a part of our routine.

Hopefully this post inside this thread will get enough comments, if not, I may post as a separate forum post. Anyone with thoughts on this please share, I'd really like to know the story and the start clicking. Heck, I may even find something I like to buy.

Best to everyone!!!

I click on NEOCON advertisements to learn about them and to benefit the Daily Paul.

However, I only click on the 'friendly' ads when I am really and truly interested.

I think that having the opportunity to learn about the neocons and contributing financially to the Daily Paul is too good an idea to pass up. Of course I do it judiciously, making sure to not go click crazy :)

Good luck to all my fellow readers that want to learn about our friends the NEOCONS while helping the DP!

all that said, faking clicks can get site owners in trouble

so be careful.

Faking Clicks????

If I click on some ad, is it not a real click? I'm looking at this in all seriousness, and not looking to get anyone in trouble. So, if I'm on the DP, and I manually (with my mouse in hand, not some automated program), decide to click on each add on the page, you're saying that could get the DP in trouble? I find this hard to believe, but again, I don't know all the details about online marketing/advertising.

I want to benefit the DP/Michael. Will clicking the ads be of benefit?

Thanks for any info...

I'm no expert either

but clicks which don't show results can be troublesome.

Simply en masse clicking, and no one following through by going to next pages & buying products (or similar activity) may raise red flags in google's algorithms. It's a murky subject.

I'd only click on an ad if it actually interests me.

"You underestimate the character of man." | "So be off now, and set about it." | Up for a game?

I only click on ads I'm interested in looking at.

Common sense as usual solves the problem.

Clicking willy nilly on any and all advertisements won't necessarily help the DP because the algorithems will figure out that there is something out of wack.

We also have to take into account that the ad is costing someone money. Personally I try to only click on things I'm interested in.

For example: Glenn Beck and family, neocon candidates, etc.

Also remember that clicking on the Amazon.com ads to get to Amazon should net the DP a comission.

There are ads for the MWTMint, which is an excellent source of silver.

So, definitely not in favor of clicking willy nilly, definitely do it only if you are interested in learning what the advertiser has for sale.

Taking donations and placing

Taking donations and placing advertisements are two different things. An advertisement on an independent website tends to indicate endorsement. If my liberal friends who are interested in Ron Paul come and see Beck's ugly mug, they won't be voting for Paul. Modern politics has nothing to do with logic. It's pure emotion. I'd advise against taking any of Beck's advertising money.

it's ok

but there should be a dailypaul ad on Glenn Beck's site...

It's called

I love to have the opportunity to click and learn from our friends the neocons. So when I see their advertisement at the Daily Paul I don't miss the opportunity to click on them to see what it is that they are selling.

It is a win win win!

I get to see what the advertiser is advertising, the neo-advertiser gets to get his message across to me, and the Daily Paul gets to continue on to 2012 and beyond!

:) Did I say that I love seeing Glenn Beck ads here?!

Comment?: Ron Paul keeps donation from white supremacist

Michael has learned from Ron Paul. Take the money and put it to good use.

Aide: Candidate to take money and 'try to spread the message of freedom'
updated 12/19/2007 4:44:27 PM ET

Don Black, of West Palm Beach, recently made the donation, according to campaign filings. He runs a Web site called Stormfront with the motto, "White Pride World Wide." The site welcomes postings to the "Stormfront White Nationalist Community."

"Dr. Paul stands for freedom, peace, prosperity and inalienable rights. If someone with small ideologies happens to contribute money to Ron, thinking he can influence Ron in any way, he's wasted his money," Paul spokesman Jesse Benton said. "Ron is going to take the money and try to spread the message of freedom."

"And that's $500 less that this guy has to do whatever it is that he does," Benton added.
