Texas Rep. Ron Paul Wins CA GOP Presidential Straw Poll

Texas Rep. Ron Paul has won another presidential straw poll.

Mr. Paul won the California Republican Party convention poll over the weekend. The Texas congressman defeated former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney and former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee.

Paul, who ran for the GOP presidential nomination in 2008, won 17.8 percent of the 202 votes cast in the informal straw poll conducted at a booth run by the Republican Liberty Caucus of California. Mr. Romney and former Alaska governor Sarah Palin

The latest poll win for Mr. Paul comes as the Texas Republican continues to consider a presidential campaign. Mr. Paul has said he will enter the 2012 Republican presidential campaign only if he thinks he can win.

The Texas Republican has won a number of presidential straw poll in recent months, including the CPAC presidential straw poll in February and an Arizona tea party poll in early March

"Romney finishes behind Paul in California GOP straw poll"

THAT is the lead story on Google news.
NOT Paul wins.
Romney finishes second.
I'm surprised they even mentioned Ron Paul in the title of the article.

Keep the Iowa Caucuses "First in the Nation"!

Another hit on Ron Paul...

They make it seem like Romney won...

Great find! Thanks for posting.

We need more comments explaining how Romney is a democrat for passing RomneyCare in MA before Obama was even president.

thehill also has Dick Morris

thehill also has Dick Morris as a columnist

funny sentence

"Mitt Romney continued his recent dominance of the straw poll No. 2 spot this weekend in California."

I've never seen anyone described as dominating a contest when they consistently get 2nd. Whatever happened to “No one remembers who came in second.”

Yeah...totally blows my mind

Yeah...totally blows my mind how they do this stuff and not expect to be called out for it.

who in the MSM will? They

who in the MSM will? They are all in on it.

In My Opinion, Anyone Who Believes In The U. S. Constitutional,

Form of government should be backing/supporting/voting for Ron Paul, every chance they get. Go Californians !

Ha ha. And on their "top

Ha ha. And on their "top stories" column on the right, where they say this, they have a picture of Rand. What can I say?

"Mr. Paul has said he will

"Mr. Paul has said he will enter the 2012 Republican presidential campaign only if he thinks he can win."

Excuse me?

When did he say that? This is the worst thing you could say to an ignorant voting populous that is already brainwashed to believe that he "can't win."

You know what to do, fellow Paulites.

Slow Down

That sounds remarkably like things he has said. Pick your battles.

With all due respect and admiration...

I've seen just about all of his recent interviews. What he has said, in his own humble way, is that he would run if he felt he was needed--in light of deteriorating economic conditions.

In other words, if enough people wake up and understand what's really going on and desire to change it, he will step up and lead. This is more about saving the country than winning an election.

Look at the psychology. If I already think he's unelectable and then see a false statement that he will only run if he thinks he can win, what are the chances I'd look any further?

Our adversaries are very good at hiding their agenda in plain sight. You see the positive side because you are a supporter. Others are predisposed to see the negative.

Most excellent...

...President Paul!

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
