Superconductors Superconductivity Approaches Room Temperature

Superconductors.ORG herein reports the observation of superconductivity near 20 C.

In eight magnetization tests a small amount of the compound (Tl5Pb2)Ba2MgCu10O17+ consistently produced sharp diamagnetic transitions (the Meissner effect) near 20 Celsius (see above graphic), and resistive transitions that appeared near 18.5C (see below right). These temperatures are believed accurate +/- 2 degrees.

Very cool site.

Very cool site.

Here's the direct link to the article-

This older post about phonons and superconductivity also has enormous implications for room temperature SC-

Though this appears to be one researcher and yet unverified by others. The magnitude of this being real is easily in the realm of a Nobel Prize if true.

I appreciate your consistant eye on solultions Ryan. Thanks

"Conclusion: Since background noise arises from lattice vibrations, a drop in the noise level when superconductivity is established is the first direct evidence that lattice vibrations are intertwined with the superconductive state."

And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”

That's beyond fascinating for me as I long speculated that room temperature superconducting could exist in a glass superconductor w/ surface wave photons (phonons) in some isolated system (e.g. like NASA's "decoherence free subspace").

I got the idea from Penrose's theories on consciousness and NXTSound's surface wave acoustics & Glas-Platz glass speaker (based on NXT's technology) - http://www.glas-platz.de/

If what Joe Eck's research is true, it could change the world dramatically but I can't find any details on his background. Still awesome though!

I have a stupid question...

is a lack of superconductivity [resistance] the reason we have to deal with inrush currents, back EMF and inductive reactance?
just curious......
