US Troops Shoot Six Libyan Civilians During ‘Rescue’ Mission

There was ample coverage of the loss of a US F-15 fighter jet over Libya Tuesday, and it always came with reassurances that the crew was safe. Less safe, however, were a group of Libyan civilians who came to the aid of one of the crew.

That’s because the civilians who met the plane’s weapons officer and offered him fruit juice while he waited to be rescued were attacked by US Marines...

Operation Idiocy Spawned

I can see why they named this war Operation Idiocy Spawned.

Let it not be said that we did nothing.-Ron Paul

The U.S. Military is not about defending America anymore...

The US military has become much more than an organization to protect our country.

Here are a few of the things it is used for now...

1. It is a huge welfare organization which takes in people who want all the freebies that come with it including education, medical benefits, housing, and even full retirement after only 20 years of service.

2. It has become protector of the borders and coastlines of 135 other countries (with over 750 bases) while the porous borders of the USA stand mostly unguarded (There are over 500,000 US troops deployed worldwide).

3. Since WWII it has become the defender of major nations like Japan, Germany, South Korea, Saudi Arabia and numerous others who, since they don't have to field a military, can concentrate their energies on economic growth - which is why they have overtaken the U.S. as major producers of goods for export to the world.

4. It has become the security force for major corporations (Oil companies mainly, and shipping companies) who use that free security to protect their profits. They don't have to hire private security to keep their businesses abroad safe and profitable.

5. It is a tool for the central bankers of the world (Federal Reserve, Bank of England, International Monetary Fund, World Bank etc), who fund both sides of wars and conflicts and profit no matter the outcome.

6. It is Europe's defender while the European Union has banded together as a de facto "United States of Europe" and uses the US military as protection against world powers like Russia, China and India and even smaller countries like Lybia, who many European countries (Italy, France) get a lot of their oil from.

And last and worst of all...

7. They have become a puppet of the U.N. which can now dictate when, where and how we go to war (ie: Lybia).

Therefore through the U.N., International Monetary Fund and World Bank, the United States had lost most of its sovereignty.

We now act at the whim of these One World Order organizations and all Constitutional laws regarding going to war have been thrown out the window.

Bush did it in Iraq and Obama has done it again.

So the very men who took an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States (the supreme law of the land), have broken their oath, which they swore on a Bible, and therefore in my opinion will burn in hell for the deaths of not only Americans, but tens of thousands of innocent civilians of those countries.

These are the reasons I discourage anyone from joining our military today because remember, EVERYONE who enters any U.S. military branch takes an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution.

Therefore, in my opinion, every one of them could refuse (on Constitutional grounds) to follow Bush or Obama's orders to illegally execute their wars.
But of course we all know where that would get them - in a military prison.

As I've said before, if this country were ever in any real danger of attack or occupation, every one of us would eagerly take up arms against an enemy.

Or maybe if that happened, we could even use our military for its originally intended reason!

It is the American way...

Anyone not American is a dog in these instances. It is disgusting and it sickens anyone with an ounce of useful brain matter.

Of course these are the people, like myself and others, who got their kicks singing cadences about eating dead burnt babies. I am guilty of that one myself. The only thing that makes me feel better is the fact that I was 17, and never pulled the trigger on anyone.

This is gonna keep me up

This is gonna keep me up again tonight. If it is not time now to alter or abolish it, when IS?

What thinking person

would join the US Armed Forces? None. They are young idiots willing to be used for evil purposes, somehow imagining they are protecting America.

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

Ron Paul

sure did receive a lot of support from the military.

I think we should focus on the people who put our military in bad situations.

You are right

But I would put it like this:

Those individuals who make up the US Armed Forces are ignorant as to the state of our government and erroneously believe they are defending the constitution while instead are carrying out unconstitutional orders that are evil in nature. These orders are not given for the security of Americans but so as to further the interests of the Powers That Be. Therefore any person who educates himself would not enter such a commitment as military service at this time.

You must be miserable

Hey interent hard ass, why don't you walk into a group of Marines and start running your mouth like that if that's how you feel? You wouldn't last very long.

It's easy to comment when your sitting behind your computer screen sipping your latte thinking your high and mighty when you have ZERO idea whats happening on the ground. People like you contribute to why Ron Paul is so marginalized.

Go fuck yourself

You should take your own advice

Put your name on what you say. As it is you are just condemning another for doing the same thing that you are.

So if he got

beat up by a gang he would be more right?

Why have so many vets become anti-war?

It's because they've seen the myth. They went in hoping to safeguard America. What they saw was that they were being used to serve powerful, uncaring interests at immense cost to the war victims and the taxpayer. If you disagree with this assessment, tell me why.

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

I for one completely agree...

I did my time, saw there was no such thing as "Defense of America", and left the service. I went in thinking retirement, and then after gaining my senses, and reading War Is a Racket, got out as quickly as possible.

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have been fully retired as of last March. But then I think...what would it be like to have the murders of innocents on my hands...or what if I didn't make it to retirement? I know of several who didn't make it. And if I had made it through, would I be the same person?

I like the way things turned out. I am alive, I am aware, and I have a beautiful family that makes every second of my life greater than the last. If it ever comes to actual "defense", I will be there. Until then consider me busy.

Similar experience here.

I did my time as well. I went in ignorant and left just as ignorant though. I woke up years later.

Our "leaders" rely on our ignorance. If everyone was awake well...

we wouldn't be in the position we are today.

What a shame

If that report is true it's very very sad to hear. Imagine those nice people being so happy to help someone, and when they saw the Marines they were probably glad to see that the officers friends had come to take him home. They must have been so terrified and confused when they were killed. Maybe someday our leaders and a lot of our people will become tired of these results from our sticking our nose where it doesn't belong.

Great - keep spreading our good will...

...at gunpoint.
