30,000,000 New Guns Owned In USA

According to these short articles, 30 million new guns have been sold since Obama took office. That's almost 1/10th of us.

Congratulations Obama, you have promoted gun ownership in a way that the NRA could never have!

I wonder what the percentage of them are NEW gun owners?

Now's the time for a reverse-boycott and to go get a new rifle or a case or two of ammo. See you on the range.

Big numbers but can this be verified?

I also would not purchase a firearm where anything is on file of the purchase.

I wonder where they? came up with the figure. "Some estimate 30,000,000 " is hardly proof positive.

What I am wondering is

the people behind all the world problems are never in the line of fire.

I think the elite want everyone armed to the teeth so when the times get bad they kill each other off rather than working together. The elite come in hire the survivors to clean up the place and they start over this time with their global order, very sad. IMO

I don't agree with your thinking, a fire arm is just a tool, and being able to defend ones self is not something to be looked down on in anyway, self reliance is rooted in self defense.

Most gun owners I know are very reasonable people, I carry every time I can and know many people who do the same, there is no indication of what you propose at all.

I don't have a problem

with guns only how and who they are used against. We invade countries and lots of innocent people die while the profiteers count their money.

"We can see with our eyes, hear with our ears and feel with our touch, but we understand with our hearts."

So...

we need to get back to the idea that the government should not be armed beyond the capabilities of the people. At this point, I think we need to reduce the armaments of the government in conjunction with increasing the armament of the people.

But see above.

Several years ago i estimated

Several years ago i estimated roughly that in the last 50 years we bought enough guns to have a shooter for every acre of land in the continental u.s. Reminds me of what a japanese general said in WW2. We cant win a land war on the ground in the u.s. "because thier would be a rifle behind every blade of grass".

lets take this a step

lets take this a step further.. how many of you also have tactical gear? tactical communications? do you have your KIT ready to go at a moments notice? how many of you have had formal training in pistol and combat rifle? do you have accessories on your firearm to make it more useful? Front site is a great place to go to get training on using the firearm of your choice.

Your step furthur is well said

No doubt sierra you are correct, i have a springfield armory xd-m 9mm with 6 19 round clips and a mossberg tactical 12 gauge and have over 5000 rounds 9mm and many boxes of 12 gauge. Got an ole kenwood c.b stashed for communication along with a lot of physical silver etc etc as ya get the drift. I have had the pleasure to enhance my skills on weapons many times over since i live in a rural area. Keep enhancing folks on silver as i have followed your wisdom for many a moon, regards krankitup

interesting

yet, what about ammo?

bet it is increasingly hard to come by imo.

Accually...

Price and availability of ammo has not been better in several years. Go to surplusammo.com they are just south of Tacoma, I buy 5.56x45 for $145 for 500 rounds, prices haven't been that good for a few years. I think that the ammo makers are finally able to catch up.

guns!!!

30 million more registered guns!!
now they can find them easier, plus all the other ones

If we deny truth before your very eyes, then the rest of what we have to say,is of little consequence

They're easy to find.

They're everywhere. Literally. God bless the USA and Switzerland and other armed nations. Do you know how long it would take the Nazis of the 30's or whoever might come and try to take them to round them all up this time?

I know no tyrant can attack. For the fool would meet a neighborhood full of kids and grandmas with .22s and 12 gauges. The WWII Nazis didn't even think of attacking Switzerland because of this. The Japanese didn't land troops in the USA because of this. That's POWER. Believe it or not, that's peace. Look up the German word parabellum.

NO ARMY IN THE WORLD CAN CONQUER AN ARMED POPULUS. At least not in the history of the Earth that I know.

The USA has more guns than any other nation. We have more of every kind of people than most anywhere else. Why aren't we shooting each other more? We're all pissed off, aren't we?

Think about it a bit. Distributed power.

What happens when open source design leads to open source manufacturing of open sourced guns?

Guns are no match for

Guns are no match for unmanned Drones and Cruise mIssiles. They have all of the play toy's, we don't have squat.

The purpose and concept of this "Disposable" weapon made during WWII needs to be considered for future reference.I am pretty sure Drones and Cruise Missiles also require human interaction to be initiated? "Trade up" has been a concept for many years. The British SAS was trained with this purpose in mind.

You and "Field Marshall Janet" deserve all the credit.

I'm lovin it:

I am a gun enthusiast. I don't even know how many I have right now.
My children are so in to them, they know way more about them, their history, and what's really going on in the world of firearms than I do. I have tons of friends that are even more in to it then me.
I am always getting new people involved and one friend who happens to make a very good living, owned only one gun about a year ago, now has more than I do. I'm not sure anyone really knows what sort of private arsenal is truly out there. But it is encouraging to see that allot of people are taking seriously the need to defend themselves and their families. It's a great industry and we need to keep it going. I'm just sorry so much has been sold to foreign enterprises. I would also like to see all of those Garands and Carbines get back here from Korea that they are keeping from being imported back where they came from. Keep up the good work everyone.

How to get an AR-15 as cheap as possible....

First go to your favorite gun shop and buy or order a DPMS complete lower receiver, this will run you about $250 with telescoping stock. This is the only part that is considered a firearm and you have to fill out a 4473, the rest of the parts will be mail ordered. Now go online and find a website that sells AR-15 uppers ( www.jsesurplus.com is one of my favorites ). The upper will run you from $375 to $875 depending on model. I recommend getting a flat top upper, optics is really the way to go, there is nothing better than Eotech for close range engegements, but they are quite pricey ($450 - $560). For the time being get a magpul brand flip sight, they are only $55.
So now order everything and you will have a significantly cheaper AR-15 compared to the exact same model from DPMS. You see every time a gun manufacturer makes a gun they a levied a 11% tax called an Federal Excise Tax, when you build a gun for yourself you do not have to pay this. However don't do this a bunch and sell them at the gun show, you can get in serious trouble for doing this too often.
