Update: Article HIT with Tea Party. EDUCATION Libyan War Cost Equivalent to 5,000 F-150 Trucks in TWO Days! - Americans Fed-up!

The article seems to have hit a note on the regular Tea Party trail. We are getting quite a bit of traffic directly from emails, they must be forwarding it.

We hope we have helped educate some TP's on Contstitutional vs. Unconstitutional war and on the 9th and 10th amendment.

The illegal, un-constitutional, not Congress approved war against Libya, has cost us the equivalent to well over FIVE THOUSAND F-150 trucks in just two days!

Not only our principled Tea Party / Freedom Movement Representatives, but also the elite/bank Representatives on both sides of the isle of US Congress, admit that the federal government is broke and admit that we must curtail federal expenses soon or we will have a final financial catastrophe in our hands.

Yet, on the first few days of this new war they have managed to blow-up the equivalent of at least five thousand eight hundred forty four (5844) F-150′s. 1 – 2

* 4461 worth of Ford F-150′s in Tomahawk missiles in two days! 1 – 2
* 1348 Ford F-150′s in a downed F-15 jet!

Yes, the undeclared Libyan war has cost us the equivalent of about six thousand F-150 trucks in just a few days. But wait… it gets much, much worse. According to the Congressional Research Service the USA, that is you and I, are spending about 14 thousand million dollars a month waging war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Take a moment to mull that figure and what it means; 14 thousand million dollars a month.

Lets figure what that figure means in real terms:

* 14,000,000,000.00 / 22,415.00 = 624,581 F-150′s a month!
* 624,581 * 12 months = 7,494,972 Ford F-150′s a year!

You read that right; the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, not counting the new Libyan war, are costing you and I the equivalent to over SEVEN MILLION F-150 trucks a year. Feel free to pause again, and think what that means.

What happens to a country that is willing to destroy, blow up, burn, waste, the equivalent to seven million brand new trucks a year waging war?

Many claim that the federal government is inefficient. They are wrong; the federal government, in just two of our wars, destroys over seven million trucks a year.

That is:...

What

does that equate to in flat screen TV's?

That ought to get their attention...

If America knew they could have a 65" flat screen TV for every man woman and child, Ohbombya would be whisked out of the WH like he had leprosy .....8)

Thanks Jefferson. :o)

If you can't stop them from killing... educate them!

Even better, as noted below - the cost in housing.

With people losing their homes left and right - how many PAID FOR houses would we be able to have if not for the wars?

Would it be enough to pay off EVERY MORTGAGE in America?

My guess, is very likely.

On that note, how much DEBT is held privately?

If the Feds used the money to pay off EVERYONE's debts, would that be more or less than we spent on the wars so far?

The Cost of War as Flat Screen TVs.

The Cost of War as Flat Screen TVs. Two Days in Libya: Over 200,000 TVs!!! Iraq & Afghanistan 31,311,111 TVs a month!!!

Thanks Jefferson!

This works better.

Nobody likes Ford trucks anyway....8)

JUST KIDDING SIERRA!!!

BTW, I think you have an extra "1" in your figures.

Also, isn't the current cost of a tomahawk 1.5 million?

I think you could easily say that those "2 days" cost well over 200 mil. You gotta pay people to shoot 'em off you know.

I hope your article gets some traction.

Took the extra '1' out.

I think the cost or replacement is 1.5 mil for the tomahawk. But the price to build was about 750k.

:)

You've got to keep in mind what the booty is.

Our elected officials are not stupid, they're just corrupt. Like Bob Dylan said a long time ago, "Money doesn't talk, it swears!" In Iraq, we may have "burned up" a few million Fords, but consider the vast oil resources WE now control (and the same for Libya). The only problem is that ME and YOU ain't in the WE equation. The powers that direct this country, and no telling who, or what, they really are, use our military might (that YOU and I do pay for) to secure assets for their control. THEY didn't spend anything. YOU and I did. But, WE don't get any booty, THEY get it. See the picture. Hell, it's working just fine for THEM.

I wonder if

the following has anything to do with what's really going on in Libya:
Virtually Unknown in the West: Libya's Water Resources

We still wonder how on earth did Gaddafi manage to stay in power for forty years? Did no one notice his madness until now?

Did no one notice that he built a HUGE FRESH WATER PIPELINE to the Benghazi region, that lunatic?

Were they waiting for him to finish?

BAN ELECTRONIC VOTING!!

I think its really powerful

I think its really powerful to translate inconceivable monetary amounts into tangible goods like trucks. Even better could be average mortgage or rent payments. While people are losing their homes and jobs, the government could have taken care of XXXXXX peoples suffering but instead they bombed Libya for 2 days.

Your link is dead, sort of.

Even for the domain name itself, all I get is a blank grey page.

Nada.

Did your site crash?

Got hit with a ton of Tea Party hits, but didn't notice a crash.

Maybe it got busy for a bit. Thanks for pointing it out. We will keep an eye out on it.

Thanks.

Two great newsreels: 1) Ron Paul; 2) Tom Woods & Kevin Guzman

Math! Oh dear. Thousands of millions, oh my.

But wait, wait! There's more... Two great newsreels!

  • Dr Ron Paul, interviewed by Judge Napolitano, Freedom Watch, on the Beck time-share. Judges introduction is 2 minutes.
  • Judge Napolitano on the Glenn Beck time-share show on Fox News interviewing Tom Woods, author of ‘Hamilton’s Curse’ and Kevin Gutzman, author of ‘Who Killed the Constitution?’ together they explain nullification pretty well:

See the imbedded Fox Newsreels.

Avoid the math... It makes attention getting points, but is troubling.

14 thousand million dollars. That is 14 Billion dollars.

Both are correct numbers; me thinks.

But Cosmopolitan claims that 10 out of 10 people disregard the size of the number when they red the word 'billion'.

The Cosmopolitan article says "10 out of 10 people disregard the word 'billion' when reading it. Scientist claim that this is due to the incredible number of times people have heard it or read it on news related to the budget and government expenditures. These same scientist recommend that writers replace the word 'billion' with the use of 'thousands of millions."

Thanks for the edits Mark! They have been incorporated into the article.

"Dr Ron Paul, interviewed by Judge Napolitano, Freedom Watch, on the Beck time-share. Judges introduction is 2 minutes. " etc.

Your welcome. I agree & Thanks. Apply as appropriate.

Thousand & million wording was clear. Writing a check for "Ninety nine hundred dollars" will be cashed for "$9900" just as quick as "$9,900." Good grammar & a silver dollar gets you 10 cups full at your local coffee shop.

"Thousand million dollar" check is OK by me. Send to:

        Mark Twain
        c/o Daily Paul
        Arlington, Massachusetts, USA

Maybe I'll cash it; maybe I'll post it on my wall as a keepsake.

If Cosmopolitan Magazine cover pages drew a different clientele, perhaps their readership would be more numerically significant. The article is littered with math errors... Just like my notebooks.
