BP [currently] has no oil production in Libya, and in February was preparing for the start of exploratory drilling in western Libya when it suspended the effort due to the uprising against Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
Royal Dutch Shell Plc, like BP, was also doing exploration work in Libya ...
Your article, as well as the one I have cited, illustrates, to me, that this invasion is about pilfering Libya's resources and was planned well in advance of the "civilian uprising".
In addition, I had the opportunity, around the beginning of this year, to speak with an American marine on leave. He told me of an odd occurrance which he had just experienced in December. He said that his unit was enroute via aircraft carrier to one destination, when suddenly and unexpectedly they were rerouted in mid-air to fly over somewhere in "Africa" (he said) to drop off equipment in a type of maneuver which allows the "drop" to occur without setting down.
Things that make you go hmmm.
