So what the *^#%@ is a parent SUPPOSED to do? Where is the line-in-the-sand? Do we just let the state do whatever they want with us and our kids? If she would have tried to resolve this "peacefully", it would have been FORCE - yes FORCE WITH GUNS - used to remove her daughter. Why is it "bad" when citizens use force, but it's not when the state does?

DETROIT –An outpouring of national support for Maryanne Godboldo, who refused to surrender her child to an army of police with tanks and automatic weapons, resulted in her release from Wayne County Jail March 30 on a personal bond of $200,000. A rally to support the mother and her right to prevent the administration of a dangerous drug to her 13-year-old daughter is set for Sat. Apr. 2 at 9 a.m at Hartford Memorial Baptist Church in Detroit. Godboldo and her attorneys will fight to regain custody of the child from Child Protective Services Wed. Apr. 6 at Wayne County Juvenile Court.

“My client did NOT shoot at the police,” Folmar said afterwards. “Child Protective Services was trying to force her child to take a dangerous medication, Risperdal, against her will. We have been able to get a court order signed by [Wayne County Circuit Court] Judge Richard Skutt, staying the administration of this drug, which is not approved by the FDA (Federal Drug Administration) in such cases. That’s why they put her in Hawthorne, so they could dope her up.”

Something is very fishy here
In regards to the dtr being attacked while in State Custody and having an STD. There is no info on why in fact they brought this girl to the hospital. Was she attacked? In regards to the STD and the sexual attack. How quickly will an STD show up after sexual intercourse whether it be forced or consensual. I have a feeling the state is setting Maryanne up to claim that ths girl had the STD before they took her into custody, or they used the excuse of an attack to check her for an STD to claim she allready had it. The state knows they are standing on very thin ice becasue the mother refused the psyhotic med so they have to have another reason to keeo this kid in custody. If I were her attorney I would want to see the evidence on the STD right away. Also I beleive they can claim that a yeast infection is an STD. I smell a set coming. The biggest question is why was she brought to the hospital?

I know this may sound stupid but
This is a very important question. Did they have a warrant when they showed up at this womens house?
This happened to me a few years ago. I am guardian of my special needs granddaughter. I had always refused psych meds for her and that really pissed the school off. Their problem was I never allowed them to test her, and always had her tested outside the school system. I knew if the school tested they would slap a psych Dx on her. I hired an advocate to fight for her IEP, and then revoked their rights to restrain her. By the way she has never been violent, not ever. I could go into detail about some of the shit schools do to provoke these kids. All my granddaughter ever did was try to hide from them. They considered that unsafe behavior and would attempt to drag her from her hiding place. Their are very strict rues regarding restraints and none of what she ever did required restraint. The big problem came when I asked the school to produce the credentials and training of the people that were restraining her. Guess what, they had none. So they called DSS on me. I got a call from her teacher who was a doll and she tipped me off that they had filed and a social worker was coming to the school to interrogate her. I hung a Miranda Rights card on her neck and explained what it was. I told her if anyone tried to talk with her about me or her grandfather she has the right to refuse to talk with them and tell them she wants an attorney present. She is aspergers and very bright so she understood what I was telling her. I called the principal and told him my granddaughter had her Mranda Rights card and if they violated it I would sue them. So next thing DDS showed up at my door with a police officer. I asked one question and one question only. Do you have a warrant signed by a judge? The cop tried to intimidate me. I kept repeating the question, Do you have a warrant signed by a judge? I said it four times. I would not answer any of their questions and would not allow them in the house. The cop finally had to answer my question and said they did not have a warrant. The DSS social worker was bullshit. She said she did not need a warrant. I asked her if she would be willing to repeat her statement while being taped. She said no. Then the cop said they would return with a warrant. I said go right a head. They never did. I called her school district and told the Special Ed Supervisor (who I had known for years) what the school was doing. He was absolutely bullshit. He said I will take care of it. I told him I wanted her out of the school NOW. He agreed. I was told by her teacher that the school social worker who called DSS would not be returning to that school. Guess they fired her.
I cannot stress how important it is to know your rights when dealing with these people. Knowledge is power. I then made the decision to pull her from the public school system and home school her. It was the best decision I ever made. She will be 16 next month and I will legally allow her to leave school and then have her take a GED. I will be finished with these fascist bastards. By the way I got guardianship of her when she was 2.5 years old. She was never vaccinated again for anything from that point on. That's a whole other story about fighting the system.

Thanks for sharing your story. I had a creepy situation happen along those lines when my first child was a toddler. Both my kids are special needs and I have been very careful as I have seen that brushes with CPS are very common with special needs families due to misinterpretation of many behaviors of special needs individuals. There are far too many overzealous, control freak social workers hell bent on finding abuse or neglect where none exists. I'm glad you were able to effectively manage that situation because it is not easy.
You can still issue her a homeschool diploma
That'll keep her from being excluded from jobs that require a hs diploma, but won't accept a GED.

I just received
an alert from AHEM a Massachusetts base Home school advocacy group that Mass is going to try to raise the age of mandatory school attendance from 16 to 18, and as an added bonus any kid that drops out cannot obtain a drivers license, and if they have on it will be revoked. The home schoolers are watching this very closely because their is no language in the bills to protect them.
They did NOT have a warrant according to Miss Godboldo

At first I was thinking
all these community leaders should have been offering to negotiate with the bad guys, not with her. Then, once it was revealed the SS did agree to give the girl to family, but put the girl into "protective custody" instead, I see why. The bad guys can't be trusted to follow through on their promises, anyway. There's no point in negotiating with them.

This reminds me of a similair thing that happend about 10 years ago. the police had a standoff with an elderly woman because her sister tried to have her declared mentally incompetent in order to take her land. at one point police shot her with a bean bag gun which had no effect because she had taped pillows around her. They also sprayed tear gas (maybe cs)big time into her house and she wouldnt come out. they couldnt figure out how she could take that punishment. it turned out she had smeared petroleum jelly all over herself.

What would happen if this mother, after being told there was mandatory medicating of her child, decided to move to another state? How about another country? At what point would a move be viewed by the authorities as running from the law?
I've just been thinking that at the onset of any CPS type action a family should move out of state asap. It is too dangerous to mess around with the child snatchers.
