CFR's 'Foreign Affairs' Magazine Article on Ron Paul and the Tea Party

The March/April 2011 lead article entitled The Tea Party and American Foreign Policy by Walter Russel Mead spends 17 pages to critique the Tea Party from their perspective and mentions Ron Paul or Paulites numerous times. We are broadly classified as "populists" interested in isolationism. The word non-intervention is never used. For what it's worth, it's always important to see what others think of your principles and philosophy. At least they have taken notice and feel we are important enough to devote a lengthy article to.

Here's the link but be prepared to have to register with their website to see the whole article. There was no charge for joining.

The Tea Party Movement is

The Tea Party Movement is largely a reaction against the Council on Foreign Relations. For those of you who do not know, FOREIGN AFFAIRS is the magazine of the Council on Foreign Relations.

For a good description of the CFR, SHADOWS OF POWER, by James Perloff is quite an eye opener. The CFR's primary goal is world government, presumably a world government that they plan to rule. The CFR has effective control over the leadership of both major political parties, which explains why nothing really changes no matter which party is in power. When someone like Ron Paul comes along, someone opposed to their globalist agenda, he is ignored or ridiculed.

And what is happening to the Tea Party Movement is no accident. The plan is apparently to either merge the Tea Party Movement with the Republican Party through the efforts of GOP Establishment workhorses like Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich, or to discredit it with racists, anti-Semites and other wackos.

It should be remembered that this article is aimed primarily at CFR members, and people who would like to be CFR members. They see the potential of the Tea Party Movement as dangerous. Dangerous to their globalist agenda. And this is why we need to keep exposing the Palins, Gingriches, Romneys, and other Neocons as subversives attempting to infiltrate the Tea Party Movement.

The Tea Party Movement came out of the 2008 Ron Paul campaign. Should we now allow those who fought to keep Ron Paul out of the debates to take control of the Tea Party Movement for the benefit of the Republican Party? Or should we stand by and allow racists, anti-Semites and other miscreants to discredit us?

I say no. We need to stick to Ron Paul's efforts to restore Constitutional government.

.

Thanks for mentioning the use of "isolationist" in the article. That way I don't have to waste my time reading a rag article or clicking the link.

Superfluous.

I pass. No time for zionist right now.

Is there a reason to be cautious about being added to their data base just to read their point of view?

CFR is very influential in foreign policy

In fact, it is among the most important private foreign policy organizations in the world. The membership is invitation-only and includes top business and government officials internationally. They are the 'establishment' in this field and represent several strains of thinking but primarily the neocon/liberal interventionist strain that we oppose so strongly.

Please however don't get sucked into the nutty conspiracy theories surrounding the organnization. If we are to successfully battle organizations like this, we have to keep our feet on the ground.

Perhaps...

You should analyze what you just wrote:
"...private foreign policy organization..."

If it is private, it shouldn't be making policy for MY country and for ME. If it is a foreign policy organization, and you think they should be able to tell the US Government what to do, then how can you reconcile them being invitation only so that I can't join and be my own voice.

It's just an untenable position in my opinion.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

You should definitely watch both of these. Conspiracies exist.

And here are the facts from Bill Clinton's own mentor, as covered in a speech by G. Edward Griffin, explaining the role of the CFR:

agreed

Not everyone in the CFR is a political opponent. And I'd support more non-interventionists & libertarians joining in order for our ideas to be more influential.

But the CFR does have a sketchy history, tied to British Imperialists who generally advocate Economic Integration, inevitably a form of supranational socialism.

To be fair to Richard Haas, he has been critical of the Libyan "not-War" and the revamped war in Afghanistan. So he is not just some ridiculous neo-con warmonger like Bill Kristol. Example, Haas had a CFR event which Ron Paul recently attended-

The CFR is an organization supporting global government.

See the links I listed above. It's a fact.

"The history of the white, menopausal, mendacious men

now ruling the planet earth is a history of repeated violation of the harmonious laws of nature, all having the direct object of establishing a tyranny of the materialistic aging over the gentle, the peace-loving, the young, the colored. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to the judgement of generations to come.
These old, white rulers have maintained a continuous war against other species of life, enslaving and destroying at whim fowl, fish, animals and spreading a lethal carpet of concrete and metal over the soft body of earth.
They have maintained as well a continual state of war among themselves and against the colored races, the freedom-loving, the gentle, the young. Genocide is their habit."

Foreign Affairs, Ron Paul and America-First foreign policy

I am reassured that firstly, they spelled his name correctly, and secondly, they, in a general way, even had the correct take on Ron Paul's foreign policy; a policy of "peace and friendly commerce with all nations, entangling alliances with none".

It is far too much, however, to ask or to expect them to agree with us; to present our arguments fairly or our facts correctly. Their entire raison d'etre, the total and only purpose of the Council of Foreign Relations, is Globalism, plain and simple!

From the League of Nations, and later, their United Nations, from NATO to the Cold War, from the sundry CIA criminal and "secret" skullduggery in Iran, Nicaragua, Chile, Iraq, Phillipines, and almost everywhere else, to the absurd and one-sided US government support of Israel's government-- (Zionist occupied Palestine)--and the shadowy and often criminal misdeeds of their oil and banking corporations, undertaken to advance this wretched foreign policy, the CFR has been at the center of it all at least since WWII, if not since their founding in 1921!

If Ron Paul's foreign policy ever won out, they would all be on street corners with little tin cups!

They HATE Ron Paul--and his supporters--for the same reason that mice hate hungry cats!

Great post! Our current government takes orders from the CFR:

The CFR is definitely the enemy of the United States of America and liberty. To defeat the enemy, we must know the enemy.

Here is Hillary Clinton admitting that she follows the advice of the CFR, and they tell her what to do!

Everyone Should Read

First thank you for posting and giving us access to this article. Honestly I could not finish it. All the normal dribble to smear those that want liberty, just in a more "professionally respected" setting. Too much mention of Palin, not enough mention of Paul. However, this is an important read for knowing ones enemy.

What the question to me is, is this a purposeful smearing for the desired goal of molding opinion or do these people really believe this?
