Ron Paul to make presidential decision in a month

By Jordan Fabian

Libertarian Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) said Tuesday that he plans to decide whether or not to run for president "in a month or so."

Appearing on the Alex Jones Show, Paul said he is "getting awfully close" to filing legal paperwork to kick off his presidential campaign.

"It can't be too far off, I would think in a month or so I'm going to have to make a final decision," he said.

Should he be the next potential candidate to form a presidential exploratory committee, Paul would be the forth Republican to take an official step toward running for president.

Paul left open the possibility of running as a third-party candidate, but said he would likely stick with the GOP.

"I guess in life, you should keep all options open. But right now, I'm still a Republican congressman and we did it last time as a Republican," he said.

Run Ron Run!! IF there is still time!

Precisely because Ron Paul is still on the "outside", his campaign is going to take longer than the others--who all repeat the same tired old cliches anyway--to get off the ground.

I hope that there is still time, to re-energize the "Tea Party" and counter the odious influence of the neocons there, to reach out to disaffected GOPers and independents, to expand awareness of his opposition to the FED and its criminal and disrepurable skullduggery, to set up campaign and Public Outreach organizations in Iowa and New Hampshire in time for their Primaries. If he can get consistant coverage in the Networks this time, that would help too!

Dynamic as his campaign would be (and I think that it would DWARF the energy and enthusiasm we saw in '08) Ron Paul, along with the rest of us, have to play catch up! Even the standard neocons, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlently, Sarah Palin and the other clowns, will have an advantage in '12 running against Obama that they certainy didn't have last time around, and indeed, we haven't seen such a mess among so-called progressives in a Presidential campaign since Reagan against Mondale in '84!

We will have to clearly show to voters of all sorts, not only Republicans, that Obama (and his wretched Presidency) is merely a symptom, and the disease itself--runaway Federal government--includes GOP neocons as well as Obama and his Dumbercrats! This will take time, and Ron Paul doesn't have as much as I fear that he should have!

Well then, its time we ALL sent a personal letter to his

campaign office in Clute & to Rand's Bowling Green office, marked personal, encouraging him to start his campaign staff w/ a clean slate & re-hire none of the old workers, even if they have had 4 years off. I believe grassroots volunteers that have been with us since 2007 are the best staffers to have. Let me just tell you that even though the hdqtrs was in VA, not a bit of help to the Potomac Primary states, MD, DC & VA until the week before those primaries. The country cannot afford a repeat of what happened last time. There are still people complaining to this day about what happened in 2008. Grandfather Paul, please don't disappoint us & fold before the Republican National Convention. God Bless Evan Cutler for making his last ditch effort to provide DVDs to ALL the delegates attending the convention in MN., even if the Convention was fixed & there was no way in hell he was getting the nomination. The Chairman of the Republican Party can tell us why we should forgive him.

For some reason, we're expected to know every law that exists in America & in our state so we don't break it. We're supposed to know this when we're 18. There's no litmus test for them, as in the 10 commandments or rhyme or reason. C.U.R.E.

Well, I advocate an independent run.

But of course he has the full support of me and my family no matter what he decides to do.

I would advocate an independent run if he were to fail to get the Republican nomination. This is probably his last chance to win the presidency, so if the GOP were to thwart his attempt to do so yet again, it would be completely justified for him to go it alone.

Frankly, as never before, he stands a huge chance to win the presidency if nominated by the GOP. Failing that, some may argue, he has an even better chance to win as an independent. Note, Jesse Ventura offered to be his running mate if he quits the GOP.

This is good, as he's the only one who can defeat the Bush/Obama agenda.

Anybody in the

Maryland area that wants to help me sprat paint my HOOD of my 2005 pontiac sunfire with Ron Paul 2012. The hood is not primed and is rusted i want to sand it down and prime it and spray paint it. I suck at artwork.

How much do u charge for a hood?

Is Alex Jones a precinct delegate...

...or an activist Campaign for Liberty member?

I love how many cite him and his excitement as being necessary or essential to what Ron Paul is trying to do.

AJ is considered a loon by most people; if he supports Ron Paul, great - but - like the rest of us, he ought to be involved in local Austin politics, in his county Republican Party, and helping Campaign for Liberty...not merely broadcasting emotions to make us believe we're winning...Ron Paul's goals are NOT Alex' "agenda" if I may say so...

Of course you may say so, but give us a better reason to listen

"AJ is considered a loon by most people; if he supports Ron Paul, great", is hardly compelling, especially when Dr. Paul frequents Alex's show as often, and as substantially, as he has for over a dozen YEARS.

You may categorize, "loons', however you please, but PLEASE don't put Ron Paul into your false guilt-by-association category when you presume to speak for "most people", because the good doctor just might prescribe some medicine you wouldn't like the taste of.

Grass-roots involvement is essential by all of us, but if your censure of Jones is based on your assessment that all he is doing is, "merely broadcasting emotions to make us believe we're winning", than please, try and persuade Ron Paul and the rest of us, how so?

Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them. - Frederick Douglass

Might as well run as a GOP, but

when the Republican Party tries to bury your campaign, and marginalize you again, be prepared to make the bold move to run independent with Jesse Ventura. That would give more awareness of "why" the two party system needs booting. There could be plenty of documentation of the press and the GOP giving Ron the cold shoulder last election.

alan laney

No see that doesn't work

Remember in 2008, we all wanted him to do that and prayed that he would. But he couldn't because he is a Republican in Congress.

BUT---Rand could run GOP

THEN---Ron could retire and run Independent.

If we have an election and there is any chance for this country, we have to give this everything we have this time. If we don't get it, why would Ron want to continue in this fascist government where the Constitution has been put to rest?

That's a poor argument mate...

in '08, being a Repub in Congress had nothing to do with it...he could have just switched to an independent in Congress as well. No biggie..as simple as that.

Do it like this****

Rand GOP run and Ron third party run if necessary. Rand is willing and Ron will support his GOP run. Rand will keep the name and message in the GOP and on the media. Rand will throw off the goons that attack Ron like they did last time.

Ron might get out of having to be president which he really doesn't want to do. But he will to save his country. His best chance is to be the back up and he will get votes from Dems, Reps and third party-ers.

This will WIN it.

Run Ron Run

seeing this made my day totally made my day -- Thanks for posting.

Love won! Deliverance from Tyranny is on the way! Col. 2:13-15

Makes my day too

But I was most encouraged when I heard Rand said that one of them would run a few days ago. That is so awesome.

I want Rand to run interference for Ron. Rand should try to be the GOP nominee and if he is, I think he will win the presidency and then Ron can stay in Congress and surely take an important financial seat.

If Rand does not get the nomination, Ron can retire his GOP seat and run third party after Rand builds the support into a frenzy!!

It will be the most exciting election in my life time-if this country allows me to live until then!!!

Ron got that help he called for up on the hill. Had to come from his own family, but it is there. Now we can really do this!!

AJ set to start a 'MONEY BOMB' as soon as Ron Paul files

Lets begin to alert the Ron Paul Nation to start saving extra money for the Money Bomb.

Maybe Trevor Lyman can make this go viral..

Man, i could see a 10 million dollar MB on that day.

I perceive from the interview yesterday that Ron will announce on April 19, the day his new book, "Liberty Defined" is released..

I'm so excited, i just craped my drawers..he, he..

*** Note : BTW, It can't be done by the Campaign for Liberty. Campaign for Liberty is not a Political Entity. We will have create a "Ron Paul for President 2012 website.

I believe that is what Dr. Paul said yesterday on AJ's show.

Keep the GOAL unnamed****

Then just frenzy it up. We need to learn from past mistakes and not set a high goal. Don't mention a goal at all. It is a money bomb to raise as much as we can. No limit, no goal. Say things like 'where will it go' or 'reach for the stars' or 'climb baby climb'. Don't say, 'it's a billion dollar goal' and then a million looks like a dismal failure. Don't set a goal. Shoot the lid off, just make sure there is a thermometer to watch it go 'up, up and away.' 'Where it stops, nobody knows.'

Whatever is left from Rand's GOP run, hopefully can be used for Ron. Maybe that will take a legal beagle to figure out.

where do i donate to his

Will we see a paul paul

Will we see a paul paul ticket?

Not a good idea

But a Paul backed by a follow up Paul is a win-win situation.

Note that Ron does not write-off possibility of Third Party Run

Lovin' that. Rand = GOP. Ron = third.

Cost of running for President

Cost of running for President – millions

Amount of money raised in the 2007
Tea Party money bomb – 6.2 million.

Individual donations for that money
bomb – between 20 and 100 dollars.
