The "Thank You" Campaign

I posted a topic on DP a few years ago about NOT repeating the same things that did not work last time and innovate a "new" approach to pushing the message.

Now I'm not in favor of "voting" or "lobbying" (at all) fundamentally, but I'm in it to win it with RP.

The "Thank You Campaign"

Every time Ron Paul goes on a show (from this day forward) we flood that show from as many angels as possible with one simple message, "Thank you for having Ron Paul on your show."

I'm open to a better "simple message" -- but let's agree to say the same exact thing.

Here's what we do:
1) We call the station..."Thank you for having...."
2) We flood the shows message board "Thank you for having..."

Now here's where we really "get 'em" this time.

3) We find people who work at the station (as many as possible) by looking them up in LinkedIn and on Facebook and we give them the same message "Thank you for having Ron Paul on your show." Especially executives.

4) In order of the Primaries we call that stations local affiliates, we flood their message boards, and we find their employees -- "Thank you for having Ron Paul on your show."

We can innovate this by coordinating with Meetup Groups (at the local level) and sharing the connections we make on here, in Digg, on Reddit, and on RP-type Videos on Youtube. Employees, Executives of each major network and their affiliates in order of the Primaries.

I have a bunch of other ideas on how to better organize -- more to come.

Please feel free to create an "equal to or better than" version of what I'm trying to do here. Again let's on agree on it and move forward with the same language.

I vote

Juan Williams to be the next recipient of the "Thank You" award, for having the spine to even MENTION RP on the air.

Trouble is, I can't find an email address for him at Fox.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you

for coming up with such a brilliant, positive idea. I like that it's something that:

1) Is easy.

2) Is possible for anyone in the world who enjoys listening to Ron Paul to do.

3) Can be done as an individual, without coordination with anyone else whatsoever.

I'm an idea guy and b-plan writer

Someone else will need to run with it.

DP needs a catchy self-generated and "meme-worthy" viral strategy.

Neil Cavuto on Fox News with Ron Paul

To: cavuto@foxnews.com
Subject: Thank You Neil - re: Today's Ron Paul Interview

I always look forward to seeing Ron Paul on Fox News. His ability to forecast the financial meltdown gives him great credibility and reason to take seriously his warnings of a coming dollar meltdown. This is a warning that America and Fox viewers need to hear.

Thanks again,

Please post Cavuto interview?

please post

Can we make a place to list those needing thank you messages?

Hi all,

I love the idea, especially soon after an airing of any kind if hundreds or thousands of Thanks You messages come it... it will make an impact.

Unfortunately I am often in a blackout zone for access to the DP and most political type websites during the work week.

Could a daily posting of links and emails to thank be made here and just updated with today's events and those to thank?

Just a thought.

"Thank you" campaign

A "thank you" campaign from us for Ron Paul's appearances is a very good idea, but it MUST be done well!

"We might be seen as a nuisance, especially if the station or newspaper is bombarded with large numbers of almost identical messages all praising Ron Paul".

We can and should avoid that, especially if the letters, e-mails, and faxes from us don't look or sound "canned" or prepackaged. Give your readers there a few personal words about what you liked about Ron Paul, and why you would appreciate his reappearance on future shows.

Don't try to convert the reader, but don't try to sound like one more of ten thousand recorded messages or letters either.

Thank you Octo : )

Great idea!

Positive Reinforcement

Works every time! Back in the early days of the Libertarian Party we always wrote a thank you note for any coverage we got, though scant indeed! It's just good manners.
I worry though, that if they get hundreds or thousands of these e-mails filling up their inboxes, we might become such a pain in the a-- that they'll start to think twice before putting RP on!!! It could backfire on us...LOL

I'M IN!!!

I already thanked Dylan Ratigan(sp) for what he said about RP the other night. I'll be sure to do the same for the judge after tonight's broadcast.

This will gain traction!

Great plan, Octo. I think we should really go with this; it would be great to see a new TYC thread here every time RP gets media acknowledgement. Recently, I've been using Twitter to thank people (like Ratigan, a few days back), but to organize it like this is a perfect idea.

Let's go with this, for sure.

for some like our friends at Russia Today besides Thank you I would myself add cyber hugs -- but that's just me.

My Octogonal Friend

Thank you. What a fabulous idea!

I can't wait to hear the other ideas you've got noodling there in that eight-sided brain of yours.

I like the simplicity of "Thank you ... " "Thank you for showcasing Ron Paul's ideas..."

It will be completely unexpected, and therefore memorable. People normally only call to complain about something. I'm sure the person who answers the phone with think, "...and...what are you calling to complain about."

"No complaint, just thank you."

They'll think, "Wow - that was weird."

And then they get another one!!!

That should smack them out of their reality.

Agreed...

Octo's really thinking outside the box this time..(sorry I couldn't resist)
All too often we are in a reactive mode, going on defense of RP for some trashy article, when we should be thanking the ones who are fair in their assessment.

I thanked a cop (trooper) that pulled me over one time, and it blew his mind. I said "thanks for your service" (of course he was already giving me a warning instead of a ticket) because he was being fair.
He walked away with a confused look, and a bit of spring in his step. There is something to this.

We have to outnumber or outdo the particular supporters that give us a reputation of being pushy, and obnoxious.

Use the social media!

Head over to Soda Head when you got a minute and make an account there too.

Thanks for the great post OctoBox =D

The DP is proof that the grassroots support for Ron Paul and his peaceful message of individual liberty is large, real, and not going away!

Hats off to you for educating people on Sodahead

I haven't had the stomach to visit that site for a year now. The Sodahead I remember was home the the absolute dumbest morons on the internet, and I mean that, I have seen way more intelligent people on YouTube, and YouTube is full of idiots. Sodahead is so bad; it's where the Chris Matthews crowd goest to fight the Sean Hannity crowd using LOL cat photos in place of sound arguments.

Big ups for having thick enough skin to visit that place without breaking out in a rash; you're a bigger person than me.

Thank-you-

I have recently discovered intelligent forms of life there. =D

Its worth a few minutes out of my day to support them.

You hit it on the head Libera

It's RP's graciousness that inspired this thought.

I thought to myself, "Self -- if RP was a watcher an appreciated fan of a political candidate, what would he do; would he rant, would he show impatience, or would he be himsel, a consumate gentlemen."

I guess what we are all agreeing on here is that "we" need to impove our bed-side manners and see if warmth and kindness does not make a stronger appeal then snarky commentary.

Now I'm all for snarky commentary, but maybe we should just volley those ideas around DP, smile. This is like the idea-grinding factory, hahaha.
