Big concern regarding RP and the GOP ticket in 2012

My main concern over Ron Paul's potential to win the GOP nomination in 2012 is that members of the Republican party and independents who could vote Republican in 2012 seem extremely divided and as great as Dr. Paul's message is, it still isn't mainstream and there is a perception that he is "unelectable". Because of these factors I don't think it will be easy to pull people over to his side. A lot of people are just as passionate about people like Palin, Bachmann and Huckabee as we are about Dr. Paul, others will stick with Romney because he's "moderate" and "can beat Obama", and still others will vote for Trump because he's famous and they like his TV show and the fact that he talks a big game about China and Iran.

I think about the only chance that Dr. Paul has to win is if Palin and other huge names endorse him from the start and I don't see that happening. I see a lot of people sticking with their candidate and votes among the candidates being extremely divided.

something tells me

that a large percentage of primary republican voters watch fox buisness news. If so Ron Paul should be okay. Furthermore his son is a star in the tea party with him giving speeches it should make things go smoother. Furthermore we have several months too see what else happens. if his other son runs for senate in texas that would also put paul in a bigger spotlight.

Trumphet should be easy to

Trumphet should be easy to get rid of because he openly supported Obombya, gave campaign contributions to Reid and Rangel. Romney will be defeated because of RomneyCare and Taxachussettes reputation of sky high taxes, Huckabee left Tennessee with a pile of debt.

No, Ron Paul's views are not

No, Ron Paul's views are not mainstream because Constitutional government, something every public servants swears to, is not mainstream.

Honor and integrity are not mainstream among a bunch of eels contending with each other in a sea of corruption. And millions of Americans, rather than being repelled by this menagerie political prostitutes, vote for whomever promises them the most from the public trough.

This is why we are losing our freedom. The American people, by and large, have lost their dignity and their common sense. They vote for the worst criminals who rob and enslave them. And then they complain about their "government". It's not the government that is at fault. It is they for electing people who will do anything to stay in office (or go higher).

The reason that both major parties reject the Ron Paul message is because they are both controlled by the same special interests. And Ron Paul's message is a threat to their agenda.

A vote against Ron Paul is a vote to keep the same gang of criminals in charge.

forget these polls and last year!

Begin organizing Paul Democrats now and change the dynamic of the game. Hit the Tea Parties and vocally expose Cain and Trump and make some news about their infedelity to the cause on the record. We must be an active offensive force this go around. We are building our own media this time with patriots like Stossel, the Judge, and Kokesh speaking our language and endorsing our candidate. We are in an opportune spot to do some damage. As soon as some of these supposed talkers jump into the race it will be all to easy to discredit them. People like Trump who I doubt will run, will get eaten alive and have their reputations further ruined beyond recognition by the Obama cheerleaders in the media.

2008 was another totally manipulated election

Many voters will not vote for a perceived loser, even if they agree with the candidate. That's why so many jumped on the bandwagon with Donald Trump over eligibility. That's also why statements like Trumps that "Ron Paul won't win the nomination" are so damaging. As loathe as many of you are to play by their rules (in other words, mean and nasty), it's the only way to win on a playing field totally stacked against you. That's why clearly superior candidates, such as Debra Medina, got no where, even after winning all the Texas debates. Instead of folding, Debra should have slammed Glenn Beck for the hypocrite he is and defended her supporters right to believe ANYTHING, even "the world is flat," as long as that belief does not influence policies of the governor in Texas. Instead of "cringing" over the birther or 911 issue, use this as an opportunity to question the motives of the interviewer, as Michael Shueuer during the CNN interview by those two airheads.

I think if Jesse Ventura runs with

Ron as VP we got a chance...

you guys are gonna kill me for this but . . .

The US citizen/sheep want an articulate good looking candidate to tell them what they want to hear.
Secondly the US citizen/sheep want an articulate good looking candidate to tell them what they want to hear. And lastly, the US citizen/sheep want an articulate good looking candidate to tell them what they want to hear.
The GAP?
Well Ron is not good looking and his major weakness is that he doesnt articulate quickly and succinctly. He has a tendency to sound whiney also.
Every candidate has weaknesses and while Dr. Paul's are minor vs. major, like integrity issues and having a criminal mind, the US citizenry, well . . what I said before.

So true. Romney will get

So true. Romney will get votes by simply saying everythings fine, USA is number 1, god bless the USA, yadda yadda yadda.

Can't you guys get the TV networks to run American idol and dancing with the starts re-runs all day on election day so the dumbed down masses wont vote.

And what they definitely DONT want to hear is

.... that they were WRONG on the war issue
.... that they were WRONG on the Patriot Act
.... that they were WRONG on the imperialism (for the past 60 years)
.... that they were WRONG about Greenspan

Basically.... people don't like to think they were wrong! And RP tells the truth. Ergo, ......"the US citizen/sheep want an articulate good looking candidate to tell them what they want to hear."

BUT, running as a Republican gives him AIR TIME!!!!! to educate, educate, educate. And slowly, bit by bit, he is changing minds, so it is STILL worth a run!

I agree

His 2008 run is what woke me up.

As bad as the Republican Party

has screwed TRUE conservatives, let alone freedom and liberty, they are still Ron Paul's party. He cannot just leave it and run as independent because he 1.) will lose his party ranking which is the reason he has the chairmanship that he recently got, and 2.) he KNOWS that an independent cannot win with the sheeple believing as they do that they either ave to vote for Jumbo or the jack-ass. It is all about perception! Now, we have BOTH parties that accept the nanny state, socialist, gimme' programs of the Dems and the war mongering, in the name of "protection" views of the Republicans. NEITHER PARTY is true to it's original values and they have become, virtually, the SAME.

This country is not as evenly divided as the election results depict (thanks to the electronic voting machines), nor are most of the people awake enough to realize this. OUR mission, should we decide to accept it (again), is to promote Dr. Paul AS ELECTABLE, wake up and educate the sheeple that are willing to the truths, and ask them to define what they really want and compare Ron Paul to the "parties" before they make their decision. In other words, make Ron Paul a "third party". He IS the option that most are seeking.

There will be an abandonment of the Obama supporters this election since he has not ended the wars and "given" them what they want. When hyperinflation kicks in these folks will be the hardest hit and REALLY want "change". THAT is the time to strike and hit them with the End the Fed and IRS arguments to leave MORE of their dollars in their pockets! ("What's in it for me" mentality.) This is all about making the case to ALL for Ron Paul and not trying to pick a side to stand on. It's NOT a horse race....you don't get anything for picking the eventual winner, beforehand, EXCEPT what the Obama supporters got in '08!

Dr. Paul does not need "big" endorsements from the neo-cons (it is unreasonable to think that they would, anyhow); he needs you and I to get out and tell folks HIS truth. Don't bring up all the conspiracy arguments, and be civil and reasonable dealing with sheeple. They don't always understand!

Big concern validation

I know that Dr. Paul chooses to work within the Republican party, and I know that many of his followers and supporters share that choice. But the reality of working within the GOP is, to put it mildly, disheartening. I've been there and I choose not to waste any more of my energy on major party politics. I love Dr. Paul and wish him the best always, but the GOP is a currupt political machine. They will expend great energy to disparage and dismiss Ron Paul and then sing the praises of their chosen-by-the-invisible-hand candidates like Newt, Mitt and Sarah. I'm not saying that it's not right to work within the GOP, I'm just saying that it's not right for me because I know better. If we ever regain our Republic, it will happen after the collapse of the current political paradigm.

If independents won't vote

If independents won't vote for him now what makes anyone think they would vote for him if he ran independent?

Become a delegate and control the convention and he gets the nomination.

Independents WILL vote

If given a candidate they can support. They need to vote in the REPUBLICAN primary and NOT the Democratic one to "vote against" someone there! Then support Dr. Paul to the end!

In Ontario yesterday, I was

In Ontario yesterday, I was having my car serviced and had to speak to the mechanic who is a poli sci grad. We got talking and I said I was a Ron Paul supporter. He knew who I meant and said that was worth a discount which I got. He also told me that military offered him a guaranteed job if he would sign up. Military is actively recruiting in universities. He is making a living as a mechanic because there are no jobs for graduate students.Military has also been actively recruiting on the native reserves...yet Harper insists he is bringing troops home from Afghanistan. Ron Paul is widely known, more so appreciated outside America.

AMEN!

Here's what happened

to me just a few days ago.

I was at the grocery store.
There was an older guy there who was working there, rounding up the grocery carts in the parking lot.
He started talking to me about the gas prices and then started into some talk about the government.
I listened to him for a bit, and said, "I'm voting for Ron Paul".
He said, "Ron Paul is the only honest one up there".

It's happening.
When you randomly meet people on the street who like Ron Paul, then we're making good progress.

You guys are right. I

You guys are right. I wouldn't say that I'm on another planet though. I agree that popular sentiment is changing and I hope with all of my heart that we can find a way to get Dr. Paul in the white house in 2012.

“Liberty means responsibility. That is why most men dread it.” -George Bernard Shaw

Do what's right

if you believe in this philosophy - get on board.
If not, find something else.
To waste your energy trying to guess if RP is electable or can win etc... is a waste
of good energy. Find the progressives who will vote in open primaries just to get RP elected as the Red team candidate etc... the opposition RP will have is the MSM and all of the other candidates again. But he has been through that now - we have been through that.
No surprises here - rise above all of that and come up with new ways to spread the message. We are going to need a whole lot more of personal one on one contact with people away from computers. (in addition to computer)
It is up to us to come up with new strategy - not just rely on how things were done last time .... this is now - better than last go around.

Change your thoughts friend

Sounds like you have a defeatist attitude towards his run. Your thoughts create your world, and fortunately you and I live on a completely different planet.

With every conversation I have, there is a growing sentiment that we are on the path to unsustainablility. Democrats, republicans, and independents are all open to the concepts of liberty. It's human nature to want to be free. Give them what they want.

Do you have real concerns? Sure you do, but you have to understand that we are creatures of habit and patterns. The patterns of being sheep will return to some, but for many, especially those republicans who were unhappy with Bush and voted for Obama. Those republicans, those independents, and the democrats who see thru Obama's lies (think Libya) are the minds and the hearts that are up for grabs.

Now get to work, your thoughts, feelings, and emotions are more powerful than you know- especially with a little action.

Go on... let's work.

In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.

my 2 cents

I think the voters have grown since the last election. Ron comes off looking like Nostradamus on the economy and none of the others can touch him on personal integrity.
He is in a position to steer the debate. Romney will stumble (my prediction) and is a boob.
Trump is all hype and no substance. Bachman does kinda steal from us.
