Trump must be taken down..

Figuratively speaking of course.

I was watching the "Trumpfomercial" on Hannity last night before I went to bed. Apparently he is doing a 2 part commercial....ehem...interview, that will be completed tonight. Hannity had a huge billboard behind his stage with Trump's mug on it, that was quite telling.

I'm not sure what their game plan is, but it doesn't look favorable to us. (What a surprise) It is almost like they know RP is going to announce, and are preemptively going to try and steal any thunder that may come from that.

The subject of not getting the (R) nomination , and running as an independent came up. This is precisely what I was hoping that RP would do, but Trump is openly, slyly, talking about holding the GOP hostage if he doesn't get the nod.
They are either going to split the vote with Trump, who I assume has the cash to run indy and guarantee another 4 for the current regime, or they are going to try and give him the nod. I'm not sure which. I could be wrong on both accounts.

He played off the Dem donations with ease, explaining that he "lives in NY, which is heavily (D)" and that he "gets along with everyone". Hannity just lapped it up like the good dog he is.

This dude is dangerous, and it may take a full time effort to expose the danger he would put this country in. Some of the things he was saying about "taking other countries resources, and keeping the spoils of war" made my jaw drop. This guy would be an absolute nightmare. His delusions of grandeur, combined with his bloodthirsty nature, are the perfect ingredients for a dictator.

The wagons are beginning to circle, and we are going to be in the fight of our lives if RP runs. It is going to take a monumental amount of focus, and effort to try and break the matrix.

We have the "we told you so" factor on our side this time, but it is going to take much more than that. If Trump is truly polling like they say he is, then we have the equivalent of a barn raising ahead of us. It will be all hands on deck.

Never underestimate your opponent. I would like to think that he would get the same reception that Rudy did last time around, but you can never be too sure.

I suggest we start thinking about this now and planning accordingly, as I am pretty sure RP is going to run.

Here is part 1 of the "interview", if you can stomach it.

right on the money!

Especially the distraction aspect. And, keep in mind that the GOP nominated JOHN MCCAIN last time around!!! And the Dems put up OBAMA!!! Collectively, these are brain dead choices.

But. Seriously. IF you had to chose between trump/obama/mccain who would you pick?? I, of course, would write in RP but I think MANY MANY others would go for trump. I don't dismiss him as serious candidate.

It is being repeated that this GOP field of candidates is weak. That is MSM crap. Do they even remember the bunch of clowns that ran last time???

h-daddy

Did anyone notice Hannity?

I also saw the interview with Hannity. The look on Hannitys face was like he was witnessing the second coming. If you listen to what Trump says its scary. He said he was a militaristic guy and wants other nations to pay the US protection money. He said OPEC "would not exist if not for the US". Through out history the conquering nation gets the spoils of war, really? He wants to bully China into compliance or have a 25% tariff on their US imports. Now with the precedent set that a US president can bomb any country at will with out congressional authority, do we want this guy as commander-in-chief of the most powerful military in history? I can see some little third world country discovering a huge oil reserve only to get a call from Donald the great, "we understand you have oil, I am sending the 7th fleet for your protection" LOL. I can't imagine anyone who is into the liberty message and RP would even consider this guy. I don't see him as any competition for RP. If he runs all he will do is split the neo-con vote.

Protection money...

What else would you expect from someone they call "the Don"...

Good Point

The Don will make them an offer they can't refuse.

Donald Drumph For President? I don't think so.

Why is Donald Drumph running for president? It confuses me.

Wouldn't it be better to

Wouldn't it be better to focus on promoting Ron Paul?

What would best serve our goals, to make sure everyone we know is aware that Trump is not the best candidate or to make sure that everyone knows Ron Paul is?

Even though in a negative light, the first option puts Trump's name out there and pretty much gets everyone talking about him. The second option gets Ron Paul's name out there in a positive light.

I think it's better for us to promote Ron Paul positively as opposed to promoting Trump negatively.

...

"Wouldn't it be better to focus on promoting Ron Paul?"

No..

In fact. We are going to paste DT's gigantic head onto the main page of the DP, now known as the DT. Thinking of maybe having a continuous sound loop of him saying I,I,I, me, me, me, my, my, my, mine, mine, mine..For motivational purposes of course.....8)

Seriously..

I am not promoting that we focus all of our energy on DT.

It is easy to write off DT, and Shammity as "idiots". It is easy to make fun of DT's massive head, and hair that some suspect may be a separate organism living on top of his gigantasaurus melon.

It is also easy to say, oh, he's just a distraction, and shouldn't be taken seriously. Well, a lot of bad things can happen to you when you are distracted.
The truth of the matter is that a significant portion of the American public are idiots as well, and with enough Trumpfomercials, could fall in love with this hideous "character".

Remember, America for the most part, has about a 3 week attention span.

If he jumps in the race, which I am thinking he will, then he will be an opponent. As I said in the OP, NEVER underestimate your opponent, especially when he has the backing of our other opponent, the MSM.

I believe we are in a similar time to when Ross Perot ran. There was tremendous disgust with both the major parties, and Perot came in and offered that outsider appeal. This is why I think Tramp is dangerous. There has never been a better time for an independent to run. They have been the fastest growing voting block, and will be necessary for a victory.

Secondly, I am not in it this time to just "educate". Sorry. I do not get in a fight (which is what we are in) to lose. Make no mistake. This is a FIGHT for our lives, and our future as a nation, and if I wanted to just educate, then I would have become a school teacher.

This is the last chance for redemption for this country. And if it doesn't happen, then it is time IMHO to brace for impact. We should be bracing for impact regardless of who gets in.
Who knows if we will even MAKE IT that far, with all of the crazy stuff happening in the Middle East, Japan, and around the world.

I know this. We tried to play nice last time, and lost. The American people also were not ready for the principles RP stands for, and they STILL may not be. There is going to have to be an aggressive campaign with the WILL TO WIN, or we are going to get our lunch eaten. There is also going to have to be an equally strong opposition to the ideas and the people that float them.

Potential opponents like Tramp, that are foisted upon us by the MSM need to be taken seriously, because most of the American public does not think like we do, and are easily suckered.

I may be considered delusional for thinking RP has a chance to win. I can live with that. I am perfectly aware of the potential for fraud, and the mountain of of deeply embedded corruption that lies before us. That does not mean that I am not going to go down without a fight.

If Ron Paul has looked over the past few years, and has the personal feeling that he and his ideas could NOW be a contender, then I am going to help him contend with the best of my ability.
Part of helping him do that, is to try and expose his opponents for what they are. You have to STUDY your opponents to beat them. I'd like to think we can multi-task.

Sumthin's Up!

I have made the same conclusion as you, separately! It occurred to me that Trump's "impromptu": appearance at CPAC this year was in fact well scripted, and staged. Our presence at CPAC, and Ron Paul's straw-poll victory would have been the main story from the weekend had it not been for Trump.

I was eating lunch at the cafe outside the main ballroom in Feb., when Trump entered the convention center with (what I believe was) a gaggle of fake press and onlookers. Noone was asking Trump anything, they just followed behind with cameras, went to the end of the hall and disappeared. There weren't many people in the hallways at the time, and I noticed that Trump came back a couple times, trying to create a scene!

After CPAC, Trump tried to make out like he was heckled by RP supporters, but the truth was, the arrogant clown came strolling in, bashing the crop of potential GOP candidates. Of course, this was offensive to those of us who flew or drove across the country to support Ron Paul.

You know the fix is in when the neocons just fall for him, hook, line, and sinker. You're right, if Ron Paul goes independent, Trump will too!

no one really cares about

no one really cares about donald trump, and he is not anywhere near as dangerous as other candidates sure to be in the race. mitt romney is a much better focus to be "taken down" than this guy. a dumb media head vs. an admitted unapologetic, simultaneous pro-war-pro-banker, pro-pharma, anti-medical marijuana establishment puppet. the only candidate worse than obama is mitt romney.

Jefferson, the GOP needs a rabbit in this distance race.

Last time around it was Rudy G.

This time the GOP is weak, really weak, except for the Paul's (and they are not rabbits, they're going the distance both Rand and Ron).

Palin can't get her footing. Huckabee already pooped out by releasing cop killers.

And they all got behind McCain last time around and left a sour taste with people.

Romney is the one to watch out for... we need to help promote him now (at least in a negative way) because Trump and/or Beck will jump into this distance run as the new rabbits and will fight for Romney all the way until Nov/Dec when they will poop out themselves and endorse Romney.

We need to get Romney off to a fast start. This should be our main focus... To force / make Romney peak early on like in Oct/Nov. This should be our goal.

If we chase Trump we are chasing a rabbit, and the rabbit will just trick us into pooping ourselves out by trying to run at a pace that is too fast.

Cool off and lets help Romney to run like Trump. Lets get him in the news in the spot light on issues and positions he can not defend. Lets go all out to push his pace up faster than he can run so Romney poops out with voters early on.

Trump has already lost and is just out there laying land mines for the Paul's. Ignore him.

Before we get our knickers in a twist...

...this could be about the best thing that could happen.

DT will definitely run - his ego will prevent him from not jumping on this. He may even choose Palin or Bachman, both birthers like him, as running mate. Note that Palin has been making kissy faces at him since his recent "birther investigation" in Hawaii, but maybe he will realize that she is the kiss of death, and go with Bachman instead.

He has no prayer of getting the Republican nomination with all the scandals in his past which will deny him the fundy vote, so he will run as an indy - gets really good then.

So, consider this:

  1. No RP supporter will switch over to vote for him, so the existing base is not threatened.
  2. Mitt Romney will lose a number of his supporters to DT and a whole lot more to RP in the months ahead
  3. Very few democrats will vote for DT despite what he said on the show, but a number of democrats disillusioned by Obama will vote for RP. RP can get a lot more if he chooses Kucinich or Ventura as a running mate. Napolitano would be pretty hot as well, although it may not help with the democrat votes.
  4. Many democrats will vote for RP in the Republican primaries if Obama runs unchallenged.
  5. With DT as an Indy, RP has a really good shot at the Republican nomination
  6. Come November 2012, Game, Set, and Match.

I see no downsides to this.

DT is no threat to Ron Paul...

He has an issue with infidelity, bankruptcy, arrogance, and he is a birther. The partisan right will not support him because of his support for Democrats, as every state has Democrats, but those on the right do not donate to them regardless if they "get along with everyone". I am not sure why everyone is getting their wigs blown up by him leading RP in the polls, since RP has not announced and the polls that they are referring to are as reliable as the Federal Reserve is at keeping our monetary system afloat. I for one see him as nothing more than a power hungry idiot, who got lucky on real estate deals via his fathers company and turned much of what he touched into feces. I personally have not watched his TV show, nor would I as it would insult my intelligence, so while I may be WAY off base, I must say IMPO he doesn't stand a chance.

in the race. Last time, as I recall (feel free to correct this) Guilliani was the 'front runner'. When the Republican establishment saw there was no way the 'Religious Right' would get on board for this, in spite of 9/11, Romney and Mc Cain became the front-runners. That said, we really don't want a repeat of '08, we need to rid ourselves, legally, of DiEBOLD.

Yet Trump has AD space on

Yet Trump has AD space on DailyPaul.

You -- mods and members alike, casual surfers -- must have no idea what's going on. It's no longer a question of "opening your eyes." You can't open them once and leave it be. Something new will always replace the old delusions.

The need for money makes us unable to contend with this. The social standard of what constitutes a human being requires us to be ineffectual in changing things for the better. And when things go wrong, you can't merely say, "It was because nobody had the courage to stand up against it." Standing up means being shot down, either physically by public "servants" or intellectually by people trained to turn your fellows against you. Man, you cannot win against this foe. What is the point of standing up? The enemy has ensured itself more martyrs for its own cause than liberty could ever supply.

What is freedom anymore? Wealth is all there is to freedom. You can't maintain a family in society without that. You can't be accepted as a human being by others without that. What wife will stay with a husband without wealth? What child will admire his father without the same? But man is powerful and hearty; he can stand on his own and become his own judge. Examples of this are plentiful. See, the road is forked; both ways are franchises maintained by one enemy.

If you're going to follow "American freedom" you might as well get in line with what's happening. Accept the fact that capital is life for the vast majority, including many of you members of DP. Accept the fact that, when the day is done, the promise of wealth will be the only remainder. Accept the fact that "Atlas Shrugged" will only fuel the fires of popularity surrounding men like Trump, it will diminish the problem of individual greed that started our slide away from liberty, and truly understand that its ideas are not timely enough to incite sufficient change in society. Accept the fact that nothing handed to you branded "change" is going to be anything different. It's going to come down to a basic choice: are you free in your heart or are you free in your flesh?

The serpent stopped growing and has devoured itself.

By comparison, Rudolph Guiliana is positively charming.
Trump's claim to fame is that he is the first really "mainstream" celebrity to bring up the "birther" issue, as Jesse Ventura is considered something of a rogue.

I know his hair is qutie an attraction ;)

but I think you're giving him way too much relevance. He's a banker buddy, profit off lobbied loopholes kind of guy. He won't fly far.

maybe

Maybe you're just over thinking it. Trump and Hannity are both idiots, therefore they get along. It could be they want the GOP to be the party of the big stupid asshole rich guy because Obama has been positioning himself against EXACTLY that guy lately, whomever he may be (romney, trump, who else?)

Makes me think of the

1912 election when the banksters had teddy rosevelt run to neutralize william taft, split the vote and put woodrow wilson in the whitehouse. I bet it is a hedge against someone they don't want getting the republican nomination... like ron paul for example. Plus he serves as a side show for people to talk about instead of focusing on the issues. It is also nice to have a spokesman preaching about using militarism for business puposes (it'd make it easier than lying about humanitarian reasons). People are lapping it up though because they think he has business sence and understands economics, and they want america to be respected. I had someone tell me they loved the idea of slapping a 25% tariff on all goods from china.

Trump is a distraction, but the best thing we can do, as someone said below, is focus on RP and the liberty message.

This race is not about winning

Ron Paul still has no chance of winning and I am sure he wouldn't want to. It would be suicide - literally.

This race is about reaching even more people and educating people about liberty and peace.

The system will take us (Ron Paul) down, no doubt about that but that is a good thing as it will make it more obvious how crooked the system is which in turn will wake up even more people.

They have lost already as the liberty movement cannot be stopped now. The harder they fight to break us the more people will join our movement and the quicker the real change will come.

Ron Paul has always said it is about educating the people. We are doing that now and things are changing. Keep up the good work.
