I disagree
.
I think neo-cons are more fascist than socialist, since their goal is to monopolize power and not re-distribute it to the people. They are bullies with their own agenda; the public is not considered.
But all of this is splitting semantic hairs. Watch the interview with G. Edward Griffin (linked on this site). He reduces all of the various political idologies to two: collectivism or individualism. Griffin makes the point that most governments are collectivist (which means the greater good for all trumps the rights of the individual). If we think the democratic process is good, then (as Griffin states) consider a lynch mob. There will be only one dissenting vote, and he will be at the end of a rope. The concept of a Republic, with representative government, tends to favor the individual and that is what the United States was designed to be: that the individual was supreme. So, whether neo-cons are fascist, socialist or something else, it is still a group that will impose its will on the little guy, regardless of his will or aspirations.
Socialism is a hair to be spilt
I was reading "GuLag Archipelago" by Solzenichen during the Y2K campaigns. I told my Dad, "What's wrong with our government is they have not read this book because if they had, they would understand they are embarking on the path of Stalin".
Then Bush gave his second campaign speach and mentioned Solzenichen. A chill came over me as I understood, our government had not only read that book, but they were using that book as a road map, careful to not make the mistakes Stalin had made when he destroyed the new and very short lived Russian Democracy and declared Russia a communist state. The first victims of the Stalin Communist regime were the socialists who put Stalin in power in the first place, Solzenichen being one. I declared when Bush was elected, "He will destroy his own party, as Stalin did." Today many would agree that Bush has destroyed his own party (though his administration was created of Scooter Libby Democrats that had switched to the GOP during the Goldwater campaign).
In the book, "Letters of Ayn Rand, there is a letter she penned to Goldwater about his book, "Conscience of a Conservative", warning him that he is making a HUGE mistake inviting the "religious" into the party, as they are collectivists by nature and employ God as an excuse to control, divide and ultimately kill people in the name of pre-life or after life, but not for "We the Living".
Now good old Ayn Rand enjoyed talking about the splitting of the Socialist hair. She claimed that Socialism was the ROOT of both Communism and Fascism and the difference between the two was Fascist employed God and Communist didn't.
The spilling of hairs is furthered frayed with the Neoliberals and Neocons, which have the same agenda, creating a NWO, with a smoke and mirror script, played out by MSM. Ultimately, they are on the same path as Stalin, busy building a GuLag America, calling the People's Republic of Communist China, "capitalists", evidenced by the fact the USA has the largest prison system in the world, and employs it's military as a global police force, and the real economic base is not oil but arms trading. The torture scenes of Gitmo are horrid reminders of the chapters in GuLag Archipelago then, Stalin's new Communist regime.
An important lesson in the book is that no one escapes. Like Rand's book, "Atlas Shrugged (which Ron Paul is no John Galt)", the global elites are escaping now. There is no way out of the horror, no place to hide, no way to protect yourself, your family, your interests, not even by joining "them". Of course nuclar war would be the ultimate equalizer wiping life off the planet. (Private rocket to mars anyone?)
WE ARE GOING TO WIN!
Good points
.
Whether the prevailing system is socialist or fascist, they are both collectivists - the individual surrenders to the state. I don't think the Soviet system was ever truly socialist, though that is what they called it. The Politburo ran the show, enjoyed the perks of caviar, vodka and dachas in the country while labor was imposed on the proletariat. Doesn't really matter what it's called: the individual was a tool to help the agenda. In NWO parlance, such people are referred to as "useless eaters." In Israel, the Kibbutz system works pretty well. They are predominantly socialist enterprises; everyone works, shares, participates and the leaders enjoy nothing special except headaches.
Interesting you bring up Ayn Rand and Atlas Shrugged, a harbinger of the New World Order. She was, for a long time, the mistress of Philip Rothschild, one of the most elite of the New World Order and a leading member of the Council of 300. Their game plan, still in effect, is to reduce the population of the world by billions (through a variety of nasty means, including AIDS, SARS and other targeted pathogens), consolidate the world governments (except China is not playing ball) and trample whatever rights the individual may have left.
You might take a look at the videos of Dr. John Coleman on YouTube and read about the Council of 300, also called The Cabal. They are the real power-brokers these days and they are up to no good. The CFR, the Trilateral Commission and the Bilderburg Group are mere farm teams for the Council.
Dr. Coleman
On your advice Zenpiper, I Googled Dr. Colman and watched a video lecture he gave, a few years ago(?) about the Illuminati and Council 300.
First, I find the term "Ron Paul rEVOLution" acceptable because "rEVOLution" is what I experienced watching Google/YouTube. It boggles my mind what is on the net. I wonder why and how, these kinds of "conspiracy theory's" from 9-11, Illuminati, UFOs, Federal Reserve, Hitler, JFK, etc etc are made available...as it appears such "conspiracies" would not allow this to happen, eh?
Second, I love reading "conspiracy theory" novels, "The Illuminati," by Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea, is one of my favorites. So I can't help but wonder again, why would such omnious conspiracies allow the "Freedom of the net/web", when they have so succeffully taken away so many other freedoms...
Third, IBM was behind the numbers on the tattos on Hitler's victims. Is linking onto a YouTube site a tracking system for a further number/"virtual tattoo"?
Fourth, Though I understand from history the elite have a very differnt way of looking at the world than the masses. I have never understood the pleasure associated with torture and killing.
Summery, Ayn Rand was a useful idiot to such a conspiracy.
WE ARE GOING TO WIN!
Oh, the conspiracy theories
.
It is easy to forget that the United States of American was founded with a conspiracy. It is our heritage and an integral part of who we are.
The conspiracy theories you mention have some merit, though facts are not easily available. And, when they are, they are often conflicting. Still, as you say, it is fun to read and think about. Fun.
You raise a good question about why would those in real power allow this information to get out? What have they to fear from the little people? Are we a threat to them? No. Nobody is a threat to those with real power. They go their merry way, forming a union in Europe, perhaps North America in a few years, and killing people wholesale in one way or another.
It will be very interesting to see how the Ron Paul campaign develops in the next year (that is, if there is not another 911 event. martial law, and the suspension of the election). There is a new spirit of activism that may, temporarily, halt the NWO. When the Amnesty Bill was defeated in congress, that was a telling victory for the citizens. The reps in Congress, sensitive to being re-elected, may halt the North American Union if enough people rally to oppose it. With the successes of the Ron Paul campaign, many of us have become empowered sufficiently to contact our representatives and let them know what we think. This is good! Whether it will prevail against the bad guys is another matter. Still, it is worth the effort. As Gandhi one stated, "Everything we do is futile but we must do it anyway."
To be realistic, Ron Paul will probably not get the nomination. This has little to do with his message, integrity or popularity among the voters; the system has been corrupted. But what matters most is Dr. Paul's message of freedom, of empowerment and of resistance to tyranny. He has given us a wonderful breath of fresh air and a new spirit of confidence. And, to an extent, he has given us each other. Great numbers of people can accomplish the impossible. And, to return to the revolution (and conspiracy) only 3% of the colonial population opposed and got rid of the British. So there's hope for America yet.
Funny Name
This guy changed his name to terbolizard.
It isn't his given name. Read his bio.
Now, he might be a great guy, but realize that a lot of people will be trying to latch on to the RP movement. Pick your candidates carefully.
Terbolizard?
Please, I hope all the collodial silver-drinking, druid robe wearing freaks don't come out of the woodwork now that Congressman Paul has a serious chance of winning the nomination. And this guy changed his name TO Terbolizard? That's just stupid.
HOLY COW, this is scary
I don't know if this has been posted before, but I just finished watching it and think everyone should see it. It means Ron Paul is more important than ever and we really need to protect him!! God help us.

No news
Neocons being socialists is not news, some are proudly admitting it. Christopher Hitchens, Irving Kristol and many others are admitted Trotskyists, anti-Christians and utilitarians (but different from Kissingerian realists, in that at least realists admit they're utilitarian rather than principalist or religious).
