"Ron Paul: He's going to do better than anyone expects. Look to Paul to climb into the double-digits in Iowa. Why? He's different, he stands out. He's against the war and he has the one in four Republicans who oppose the war all to himself. Libertarianism is hot, especially among free-market Republicans and 20-somethings. And he's an appealing sort of father figure. He's his own brand. All he needs to do is beat a couple of big names in Iowa, then New Hampshire is friendlier territory. After all, the state motto is "Live Free or Die."

[...]

There is a real possibility that there will be no clarity on the Republican side after February 5. The best-laid plans of front-loaders may have backfired. Figure out that mixed metaphor."

Great

This guy has been one of the more accurate pollsters of the past... I see his assesment as a very honest one..

As for the Polls however... I would simply reffer "pollsters" to the 2004 EXIT POLLS SHOWING A KERRY LANDSIDE..

That apparently was B.S... well something was B.S. that election... but polls are like holes.... if ya know what I'm talking about!!

Exit polls from 2004 were worthless

I remember looking at the Ohio exit polls early on election day, 2004. The exit polls in Ohio had 60% of voters being women and Kerry winning this pool by 4 to 5 points. I called my friends and said once the men show up after work Bush is going to win Ohio by 2% and about 100k votes.

I was right.

I'm angry at those comments...

Some people might like John Zogby's comments about how Ron Paul will do better than anyone expects. They make me angry.

As one of the top pollsters in the country, he does polls that the rest of country drools over. He knows what is really going on out there. If he were honest, he would say

"Ron Paul will easily double the published polls. Those published polls are crap but I'm going to keep putting them out there because it keeps my masters happy so I can make big bucks and get an occasional TV appearance which helps me with the chicks."

Hey Zogby, you say Ron Paul will do better than people expect. The people only expect he'll do bad because of your crappy polls.

So when will a Ron Paul supporter do an honest poll so we can put guys like Zogby out of business?

John

Just who is the "You" Zogby is talking about?

Perhaps the OM reporters and pundits?

But not us.

Well, let's hope the Zogster is right

and Ron Paul polls way better than anyone thought! It's possible, because you can't put a lot of stock in these polls, and Zogby even knows it. Let hope there are legions of people in Iowa that are fed up the "Government as usual", because, without Dr. Paul,,,,,,that's just what they're asking for. I wonder if they are aware of that? That would be one question I'd like to see in a "poll":
Are you happy with the way our government functions?
