who cares. just watch the

who cares. just watch the interview and dont worry about it, it doesnt matter. questions will be asked and answers will be given.

Why

Why isn't the question, "What do you think would be the most valuable (informative, cutting edge, timely, relavent, republican, democratic, worldly, difficult) question etc.....

This question is just trash. But I'll definitely admit this is the way the press goes after their interviews. We'll ask some pertinent questions, then we'll slap him with the zingers. It repulses me. Every time. This is repulsive.

You're right, but...

You're right, but this is Russert's infamous hard-hitting style. He did it to Romney and I can't imagine Paul will escape it. The idea of the show is now to have a sprawling openminded discussion about politics (though many more of those would be great) but instead to put you through a gauntlet and see if your views hold up. Then at the end Russert will ask a few cozy questions about family, marriage, and fatherhood. That's his style so far.

The most damaging questions

The most damaging questions Russert can ask are the ones that leave Russert looking like a dope. I think the interview will go alright. I'm sure there will be some tough questions, and RP will answer like he always does, honestly, and clearly.

Don't feed the trolls.

let me rephrase. the most

let me rephrase.

the most dangerous question is the one that implies the worst. the worst thing that could happen is not winning. it becomes as much a accusation as a question.

"you don't think you can win, do you?"

"That's not going to

"That's not going to happen"

When

When is this being aired?

Let's keep the freedom train rolling.

How do you attack a man with 30+ years of uncompromised integrity? You don't.

At best, you attack his supporters.

My opinions...

You will be 73 the very first year in office... are you too old to be president?

Do you agree with the late Barry Goldwater's suggestion that the religious right are destroying our nation?

Would you give the death sentence to Osama Bin Laden?

It has already been determined, the most damaging

question is-drum roll...
Will you run as a third party candidate?

HYDROMAN
Nothing that pinhead could ask would disturb the honest brilliance of Dr. Paul!

"Since 1789 the only government on Earth that has the power to crush the American people`s liberties across the board is the government of the United States"
Robert Higgs

If given time, there is not a question that Dr. Paul can't knock

out of the park.

"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win."
-- Mahatma Gandhi

um.

you dont really think you can win, do you?

If Russert handles this interview

the way the neo cons want him to, it will be 24/7 feeding frenzy news for the next three to four weeks or they will try to make it so.

At least that's what my crystal ball says.

I only hope that Ron Paul can cut them off at the pass. My crystal ball is a little cloudy when it comes to what Ron Paul is going to do.

The Most Damaging Question is ......

Why do so many of your supporters love you with such intensity and why do many of them feel like they would lay down their lives for your safety!!!
.
The answer to this question would damage the entire campaign of all of the other presidential candidates from both parties and have the mass media on its knees begging for another chance.

RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT

I think it will be the drug issue.

To those who are not on board with this issue already, does it help to frame it in relation to the War on Terror? The media is now reporting that Al Quaida and the Taliban are back to prewar levels. This is a Newsweek Article that I think makes an excellent point:

From Sept. 2006:
“NATO officials say the Taliban seems to be flush with cash, thanks to the guerrillas’ alliance with prosperous opium traffickers. The fighters are paid more than $5 a day—good money in Afghanistan, and at least twice what the new Afghan National Army’s 30,000 soldiers receive. It’s a bad sign, too, that a shortage of local police has led Karzai to approve a plan allowing local warlords—often traffickers themselves—to rebuild their private armies. U.N. officials have spent the past three years trying to disband Afghanistan’s irregular militias, which are accused of widespread human-rights abuses. Now the warlords can rearm with the government’s blessing. Afghanistan is “unfortunately well on its way” to becoming a “narco-state,” NATO’s supreme commander, Marine Gen. Jim Jones, said before Congress last week.”

I say that if you support the War on Drugs, then you support terrorists such as Al-Quaida, FARC and Hezbolla.

Why the hype

Maybe, boxers or briefs?

I was thinking

Do you like flannel or silk PJ's.

It's not a matter of dangerous questions,

but rather one of dangerous conclusions drawn by someone like Tim Russert.

Think about it for a moment. A show like this will obviously counter Ron Paul's desire to eliminate the U.S. Department of Education with a "you oppose higher educational standards." Granted, I believe that type of counter to be fallacious, but people like Russert tend to get in the last word.

All Ron Paul has to do is stay on the offensive, and not let Russert lead the interview. Luckily for us, I think our man knows this.

"Free government is founded in jealousy, and not in confidence; it is jealousy and not confidence which prescribes limited constitutions." Thomas Jefferson, Kentucky Resolutions of 1798

Exactly!

Time for Paul to be agressive and not let that status quo buffoon belittle him
.

Ron Paul'08

The opening sequence

Based on what we saw in Romney and Giuliani's interviews, expect for Russert to hit on the biggest "gotcha" topic he can in the first few questions. He'll start off by asking why he won't return the Don Black donation, then he'll ask why Black had his picture taken with him, then he'll bring up the newsletter article. Let's hope Ron's prepared.

Then he'll

ask about those quotes Dr. Paul made 15 years ago, then he'll ask why he did not vote to give Rosa Parks the Congressional metal of honor.

Then the interveiw will be over.

I agree I hope Ron Paul is prepared, because this will be about all he will be asked.

The only thing that will be missing from this interview will be...the waterboard. But it will be torture just the same.

I GOT ONE!!!!!

What could be the most damaging question Tim Russert can ask Ron Paul on Meet the Press?

Is it true your granddaddy was Adolf Hitler's bagman??

well *I* got it!

well *I* got it!

Does this post help Ron Paul get elected?

Nope.. Useless and trivial.. Please go to the search feature in the forums and search for Posting Guidelines..

He will be fine

Through all the debates, through every biased interview, Dr Paul has always done fine. He is well spoken, he knows who he is and what he stands for, and it is apparent when he speaks that he is honest and open. Meet the Press has a large and intellegent audience. My parents are older, and don't get much news off the internet; they don't have cable, but Meet the Press will get their attention. I think there may be a lot of seniors in a similar situation. I think this interview will be very good for the campaign... now hopefully somebody at the campaign has a strategy to keep ramping up the momentum. He should be scheduled in for *all* those Sunday morning shows... and more radio coverage too...

What if he FAILED to ask his position on Iraq?

It's the one issue that sets him apart from all the others. But that won't happen. The big appeal of Ron Paul is not the question and its answer, but the reason why he arrived at the answer. The format should be good for that.

Doesn't really matter, does it?

RP always lands on his feet, no matter what is asked. He has integrity and essential goodness and that covers everything.

So, fascism, racism, abolishing the various departments and so forth - they are standard questions. Day at the beach for RP.

However, nobody ever asks the following of Dr. Paul:

1. Who is your favorite Beatle?
2. Coke or Pepsi?
3. Ford or Chevy?
4. Hey, how about those Mets?
5. As an M.D., has he ever said, "Take two aspirin and call me in the morning?"

Inquiring minds... need a laugh now and then.
