Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold the phone, Farah!

I used to respect Joseph Farah for attempting to be a fair journalist. This, however, was the last straw:

I've often said America faces danger from creeping fascism.

I said that not because, as Ron Paul might suggest, too many Americans are proud to wave their flag or say their prayers.

On the contrary. The real reason we face this danger is because the American people are just too willing to allow their corrupt and clueless elected leaders to pervert, distort and undermine the Constitution in ways that would have been unimaginable just a few short years ago.

Care to send a letter to the editor and set him straight? letters@worldnetdaily.com

I would have forwarded this piece onto every person I know had it not been for his OBVIOUS intention to misrepresent everything Ron Paul stands for. I would have asked everyone to digg this article, but he'll be getting none of that. I will write my letter as soon as the steam of fury stops pouring out of my ears!

I just sent JF a very nice

I just sent JF a very nice email basically saying:

Ron Paul would agree with almost every aspect of your article; but your comment about Dr. Paul was not fair, since Ron Paul is a devout Baptist and a passionate lover of his country.

If anyone else rights to him, be nice and intelligent.

Read the article

Except for the one quote, the article had nothing whatsoever to do with Ron Paul. It was not a hit piece.

In fact, the article is one that should be near and dear to any Paul supporter's heart. It was about how our government is perverting the law to make all of us sheep behave better. Joseph Farah is calling our government, specifically the Bush administration, fascists. The article itself is a ringing endorsement of the message Ron Paul has been preaching when it comes to respecting the Constitution.

WND has been very fair to Ron Paul. Farah has said he is against Paul because of foreign policy (though he agrees with Paul on almost everything else), but he allows other editorial writers to openly support Paul on his site. I find this refreshing. Farah may not be one of us, but he's not trying to ignore or ridicule us, either. He is willing to let our message compete with his in a fair fight. That works with me.

I did read the article

And the thing that bothers me is that Ron Paul would agree with the content of this article more than any other candidate. The beginning of the article serves no other purpose than to insinuate that upholding the Constitution is of NO concern to Ron Paul whatsoever.

"On the contrary."

One reads the article with the idea of "Ron Paul doesn't care about the Constitution".

No, this article is not *about* Ron Paul, but Farah's opening words were chosen carefully, with intent. It was a loaded comment, and I believe his purpose in choosing those words were to undermine Paul. Like you said, this article has nothing to do with Paul, so why the comment? It served no other purpose than to spread misconception about what Ron Paul stands for.

Yes, I know Farah disapproves of Paul's ideas on foreign policy, but he should not have implied that Ron Paul doesn't support the notion that the Constitution is constantly being undermined in order to restrain our freedoms. This article echoes the heart of Ron Paul's message, and I am going to write Farah a letter to remind him of that fact.

Jesus is my Lord and my God, and Ron Paul, champion of all things freedom, including religion and the free exercise thereof, is my choice for president.

remember this before you write:

"What is begun in anger, ends in shame."

Now... my suggestion is to remember that Farah previously discarded RP's candidacy due to... what else?... foreign policy. (They agree on just about everything else AFAIK.) He's now in a position of having to swallow his pride to reverse that decision -- and in his case, that includes years of zealously pro-Israel foreign policy. His poke at RP here may be an outworking of increasing frustration, as it is getting increasingly difficult to avoid the reality that RP is clearly the man for the job, yet to endorse him would mean reversing those years of hardline stances. Not easy. Have a shred of pity on him.

I don't know if he'll ever come around, but the best way to help that happen is to transmute your hostile reaction into something worthy of RP himself. Make like the r3VOLutionary in the famous pic and throw flowers instead of bombs. :-) Maybe with enough welcomes from us, Joe will eventually be pulled into the RPR out of sheer desire to join us!

Hey, a guy can dream. ;-) Anyway, nasty never wins anyone's heart.
