Ron Paul as independent candidate if he does not win Rep. nominationSubmitted by hayekian on Mon, 05/16/2011 - 01:31
While talking to Neil Cavuto on Fox news on Friday 13th 2012, Ron was asked if he would run as independent should he not get the Republican nomination. He said he would not because it is supposedly virtually impossible for a third party candidate to get into debates and all that jazz.
Can someone enlighten me as to why even if he would have a hard time getting mainstream recognition would it make sense to simply abandon the intellectual revolution, to turn off the thousands of meetup groups that would be spreading the Austrian econogospel and other key ideas of freedom? Running as independent costs Dr. Paul nothing and keeps the revolution going and educating which is what is really needed. I think abandoning his campaign was a great mistake in 2008.
Can someone tell me why it was a good idea for him not to continue his run as independent 4 years ago , or to not do it again in 2012 should he not get Rep. nomination?
