Did anyone see today's AP article on the Republican field? Outrageous!

The title of the article is "With Huckabee Out, GOP Field View For His Backers." It goes on and one about Huckabee needing "God's full blessing" and other such blather, and I'm only posting the part here, taken directly from the article, about the rest of the field. Un-freaking-believable! Of course, this has been published in every newspaper across the country. Fortunately, after some 40 years, I finally just quit paying for my local rag, but they keep delivering it anyway. The marginalization begins in earnest.

The announcement makes an already wide-open Republican field even more unpredictable.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has been making a concerted effort to reach out to the right. Although he's been noting his recent conversion to Catholicism, he's hampered by two divorces and an adulterous history. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney must explain his change of heart over the years on positions on guns, gay rights and abortion; health care also is a problem for him. Minnesota's ex-governor, Tim Pawlenty, has had to apologize for backing climate change legislation. Donald Trump? Highly unlikely.
With so many social conservatives looking for a home, the void created by Huckabee's decision could prompt 2008 vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin or Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann to get in the race. Palin has yet to say if she will run, while Bachmann is inching toward a bid. Several other possible candidates, including Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, are in waiting mode.

I say, Associated Press,

I'm so glad you left out any reference to that youth icon, prodigious money raiser, and prolific book author Congressman Ron Paul. There is simply no place for a gentleman like him in the Brave New World police state the power elite are planning for us -- for our own good of course. Yeah he was right about the economic crisis but so what? Any fool could have seen that one coming, right? And his farcical idea of foreign policy: leave other nations alone. Quit spending trillions overseas. Ha! Sheer idiocy and a big majority of voters are even agreeing with him! Hurry up and consign him to the dust bin before he makes a laughing stock out of 50 years of US foreign policy mistakes.

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

The strategy used to be to

The strategy used to be to ridicule him, then they discovered that people will find out he exists, and that's too dangerous.

I read this crap too, and as

I read this crap too, and as soon as I did, I sent a "news tip" to the editor, raking them over the coals for their deliberate omission, and asking them seriously about their creditials for trustworthy newreporting.

Dr. Paul makes enough television appearances to make up for it

Dr. Paul makes enough television appearances to make up for the total lack of acknowledgment in the print media.

That's why print is dead and even typed words are fading.

"Cowards & idiots can come along for the ride but they gotta sit in the back seat!"

totally pissed me off this morning

I read it in the main newspaper here the Toronto Star and seeing not even one mention of Ron Paul made me really upset...to say the least.

Love won! Deliverance from Tyranny is on the way! Col. 2:13-15

NPR

NPR had a quick mention of Ron Paul this morning. It wasn't very good at all. They interviewed a 16 year-old. They basically called Dr Paul's stances uncompromising, as if that is a bad thing. They they basically claimed that he was unelectable.

______
"When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty."

And...

They must have a Ron Paul filter on CBS(where I pulled up the AP artl.)

Nice one, no wonder there were only 2 comments on the editorial.

The fact that this author has

The fact that this author has failed to mention Ron Paul speaks volumes. They surely are launching an all-out campaign to de-legitimize Ron Paul as a strong and viable candidate.

Especially...

when he's one of only a few to officially announce his candidacy. Do these people just write this stuff without doing any research whatsoever? No wonder print media is dead and anyone with a brain scours the internet for the truth.

yea, its obvious now.

Lame Media is working hard

Lame Media is working hard (again)to get Obama reelected.

"From 2007 until last month, some 300 liberal journalists and policy wonks exchanged ideas and commentary on a secret, off-the-record Internet email group called JournoList. It was shut down after portions leaked, leading to the resignation of Washington Post writer David Weigel last month over his intemperate criticism of conservatives he was covering.

But someone who belonged to JournoList continues to leak information from its archives, providing a fascinating glimpse into how some liberal journalists coordinate their story lines to protect their favorite politicians and ideas. The Daily Caller website reports that at several times during the 2008 presidential race, "employees of news organizations including Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Guardian, Salon and the New Republic participated in outpourings of anger over how [Barack] Obama had been treated in the media, and in some cases plotted to fix the damage."
