Ron PLEASE start speaking STATES RIGHTS in the Debates!!

Ron you know the questions are being lined up to distort you as a heroin, prostitution, gay marriage "supporter" and more are coming your way.

I love that you educate people 24/7 ... I truly do. My words in this short blog cannot tell you thank you enough from the bottom of my heart. However, it's crunch time!! We need to start hearing you winning people over that are still on the fence rather than allowing the media to paint a distorted picture of your Constitutional positions. It is to easy for you not to bring up the simple phrase "states rights" while defending the Constitution and promoting individual liberty.

We need to hear you say simple phrases the people can get.

Such as:

"THAT ISSUE SHOULD BE LEFT UP TO THE PEOPLE OF THE STATES TO DECIDE ON"

"THERE IS NO AUTHORITY FOR THE BUREAUCRATS IN DC TO BE DICTATING TO THE PEOPLE OF THE STATES ON THAT MATTER."

"I BELIEVE IN THE PEOPLE TO GOVERN THEMSELVES AND THEY DON'T NEED A FEW IN WASHINGTON SETTING POLICY FOR ALL"

"I PERSONALLY DON"T ENDORSE THAT BUT IT'S AN ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE LEFT UP TO THE PEOPLE OF THE STATES TO DECIDE ON."

"I TRUST THE PEOPLE TO MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS WITH THEIR LIVES LIKE THE FOUNDERS DID"

"IF YOU ADHERE TO THE CONSTITUTION LIKE I DO, THAN THAT IS A CLEAR STATES RIGHTS ISSUE FOR THE PEOPLE OF THE STATES TO DECIDE ON"

To any one who would question this, it's my opinion you are not blogging enough for Ron and spending too much time on the DP where we all get it. The Media is looking for a small crack to turn into a trench. A couple more rounds of heavy distortion and we are going to be hurting when there is no reason to be.

We have the Champion of the Constitution

Ignore this post. I somehow

Ignore this post. I somehow put it in the wrong spot.

Dont care

Paul needs to talk about the things that will get him elected at debates.
We have the luxury of the internet to know his views on deeper issues, and that is all that matters!

That is what I am saying. He

That is what I am saying.

He needs to win the base over so he gets the nomination. The media is more than happy to spread disinformation to discredit him.

Repeal the 17th Amendment

At least talk about it on the campaign!

RON PAUL 2012

Its a more gracefully way to deflect the legalize drugs question

By saying.... that issue should be up to the states to decide, not the federal government.

"Take hold of the future or the future will take hold of you." -- Patrick Dixon

Fact!

The problem is the users do not want any control at all,on any level,Period!Ron's stance on the issue is not enough for them.To push this will be Ron's down fall in the end because of two directions of thought. It needs to start small and work up to what they want.As the wise "Q" says "Baby steps".

"Better to get there slow than to not get there fast".

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

South Carolina Taking Light Bulb Ban into Its Own Hands

Fed up with the federal government’s ban of the traditional incandescent light bulb, state representatives in South Carolina are pushing for the state to produce and use incandescents solely for its state.

Would this be a positive example of State's Rights?

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.
Ron Paul - The Revolution

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

We all know the state at any

We all know the state at any level should not be producing anything. But the idea of getting the Federal government out of the picture is a good one.

If my post is not clear enough, I am talking about the social issues that Ron is getting smeared on in the media. (heroin, prostitution, gay marriage as a "supporter") when all he is saying is that the Federal government does not have the authority to regulate these issues and the people of the states are to decide on these matters.

There is no reason we should be getting smeared like we are, and Ron can tie it to personal liberty any way he wants.

I AGREE

if you STRESS STATES RIGHTS, it will make you seem less "kooky". We know why you support the legalization of drugs...but all the dumb ppl don't. STATES RIGHTS!

Ron Paul is doing good

Its ridiculous to criticize him he isnt stupid. If you want him elected BECOME A DELEGATE DUH. you wont see him as president without becoming a delegate and nominating him at the RNC>

I don't hear average

I don't hear average Americans clamoring for more state's rights issues to be addressed. I only hear "our side" talking about it. You have to address the wants and needs of voters and give them what they need in the context of something they want.

If you want him to speak

If you want him to speak about state's rights, spend several million of your own dollars to host a debate where you can ask the questions you want him to answer. Beggars can't be choosers. Personally, I don't care if the federal government or the states survive to dictate to us. The only things that matter to me are individual rights. When you harp on states' rights, you still aren't honoring the individual. He spends most of his energy explaining individual rights, and that's why I plan to vote for him. If he switches to state's rights and starts sounding like a state-level collectivist, he'll lose my vote. I do understand your point, but I think having states dictate what individuals can and can't do is only a small improvement over federal tyranny. I want him to keep hammering people on individual rights, because those are the only rights that really matter. He drops a line now and then that the states could handle this or that better. To me that's plenty. I don't want an all-powerful state to replace the federal government. I just want my freedom.

Ron would lose your vote if

Ron would lose your vote if he sounding like a state-level collectivist? Could that even happen? Start sounding like a state-level collectivist? We are talking about Ron here.

Well I would vote for Ron no matter how he gets his message out. I am pointing out the attacks and distortions from the media will be minimized if he starts bringing up states rights as he backs his Constitutional positions of individual liberty. I will try my hardest to win delegate for him. I won county last time in SLC will be fighting to win for him again.

Has Ron Paul ever talked about what he wants legalized in Texas?

Since he lives in Texas, I'm curious where Ron Paul stands on the issues for his state. For example, has he said anything about wanting to legalize gay marriage in Texas? Prostitution?

I seem to recall an interview once where he stated (or at least implied) he wanted to decriminalize marijuana in his state, but I'm not sure.

I don't believe Ron has any

I don't believe Ron has any interest in making gay marriage in Texas legal, nor has he been active about legalizing drugs or prostitution in Texas. That is interesting.

Exactly, But the media is

Exactly,

But the media is hammering on him because of his statements (which are all true) have been used to spread disinformation about Ron as a "supporter" who "endorses" these lifestyles.

There is a big difference in allowing others to live how they want and personally endorsing it which is being spread all over. Ron can put an end to it with getting back to the base by speaking about states rights and then go into personal liberty.

I hope he gets back to this simple talking point because we need to win over those on the fence who might be leaning Ron's way

My point was more that I find

My point was more that I find it interesting that Ron Paul doesn't appear interested in making Texas a freer place, such as by legalizing drugs and prostitution or by removing the government-mandated heterosexual marriage monopoly.

nothappy He holds a Federal

nothappy

He holds a Federal office.
The people of TX are to come up with the rule of law under their state.

What more could he do other than not oppose the peoples wishes at the Federal level?

States rights are for the people of the state to decide on.

i understand that

I totally get why he doesn't want to get into these issues while running a campaign for federal office.

But I do find it interesting as a resident in Texas that he is not particularly interested in bringing freedom to his state. Maybe he is and he's just keeping it under wraps for the campaign's sake, I don't know. But it would be very interesting, perhaps after he retires from Congress, what direction he thinks Texas should head.

Agreed!

I've been wishing I could tell him the same thing personally every interview he's given this campaign season. There's nothing wrong with holding the libertarian viewpoint that NO government, at any level should be in charge of some of the things Paul opposes. However, he doesn't have to harp on the idealistic element saying that the government has no right telling you what to put in your body (though they don't), but he could simply wrap the argument up by saying, "do you think the states are going to choose to legalize heroin? no. but it doesn't need to be a Federal issue. The states have enough ability to rule for themselves and citizens can figure out these issues in the way that best suits their individual state's interests." And everyone will sit back and stop attacking him for views they cannot understand.

I 100% feel the same

I 100% feel the same way.

Plus many on the fence republicans have their own phrases they use that Ron Has to tap into and there are few if any better than talking states rights

bump, good post. I've been

bump, good post. I've been thinking the same thing. thanks for posting!

thanks,I was thinking this

thanks,

I was thinking this the whole drive home. We shouldn't be up against the fence like we are with the heroin, prostitution accusations when when they are such easy subjects to refute when you get it like Ron does.

All Ron needs to do is bring up the catchy phrase "states rights" over and over. It's also an opportunity to show his strong Constitutional positions while being able to point out that the others want to dictate from DC when they don't even have the authority to do so Like "Obama"...

Ron cannot bash Obama enough to the the republicans turning in to the TV. There are many who are putting their thinking caps on for potentially the first time ever ....but they know something is not right and simple things will click.

I sure hope he does or this next round of is going to have us in a hole when we should be running circles around these clowns.

States rights til you are blue in the face Ron!!
