Sometimes when I read through or watch the videos on the Daily Paul, I feel discouraged. The corporations own the media, and of course, they don't want him to win. I think, on one hand, it is good to know what the opposition says, but one the other hand, I don't know that we should look to them for any vindication of the cause. I keep wondering what is practical in terms of campaigning. I think the plan last time around was to get into the Republican Party on a local level. That worked here until the state convention. We flooded the convention with Ron Paul supporters, but I think we only succeeded in sending one RP delegate to the national convention. And I remember Michael Nystrom's blog about his experience at the national convention, not exactly encouraging. Being a Christian, I've been praying a lot for this campaign. I would like others to pray with me. Other than that, I'm at a loss.

Let me say again, I don't think it's wise to look to the media for any support. Any thoughts?

Ron Paul for President's picture

Pray for Dr. Paul and his family

In most of her appearances to whomever, Mother Mary says if we change our ways, we will survive. OK. We need good people here to lead by example. So my prayer to God is to send angels to protect Dr. Paul and a clear mind to make the right decisions.
We are not fighting anything less than the evil that rules this earth. We must do both our physical and spiritual part.

I do not believe anyone is better than anyone else. It is what we do with the talents we are given.

We must plan to do without them, they'll help the highest bidder

"The r3volution won't be televised" was the motto of a website during the 2008 election. It's still true.

But if we don't depend on TV for success, TV can't pull the rug out either.

The endorsement of a million gentle-hearted, thoughtful and prayerful Americans, will be more help that $10 billion in TV ads.

You and I

You and I think alike. Is the website still running?? That's very encouraging to me!!!

Don't be like that...
We know what "they" want to do for us. Notta.
Sure it gets a little disheartening. (is that word?)
But we never let the mainstream media mass mind manipulation machine get in our way before.
We have made some rather impressive in roads since 2008, that we should all be proud of. I have never quit campaigning since 2008 myself. And it has been quite the educational experience here. We WON! Remember?
Like Ron Paul told Snufilupigus...we always win.
Our number's have grown, and the young people that were with us then are still around and a little older and more mature this time around. We know what it is going to take, and what to avoid now.
The republican party, though still wishing to ignore Ron Paul, and praying for someone...anyone to step forward and be the "new leader" with that star quality that will "play the game" and still be acceptable to that dang TEA party movement. Well...they got nobody. Notta...ZIP!
They have this champion of the constitution that if they would just get behind him right now could wipe the court with Obummer. But ohhh nooo, not that guy.
He won't march the march and lock the step to the tune of the establishment party system. Can't have none of that now...can we?
Never get excited. It's early on still. We got nothing but time to do what we do best. Get the word out. And then hit the street's.
One good thing, which the republican party may soon wise up and realize is that Ron Paul is the only candidate they have who can and would pull all of those disgruntled Obummer vote's from the democratic party. He's the man in that position. It sure isn't Mitt, or any of those other no name who's on first candidate's. It IS only Ron Paul that those democrat voter's are looking at. He has that one edge that Obummer had...but lost. Which is something we all can thank Obummer for by not keeping his word. That and the FED and their failed economic policy which is about to fizzle...again. There is no way out but the Ron Paul way out. And I don't see this administration doing anything near as radial as needs to be done to save it.
So don't get all down about the mainstream media.
Not yet anyway. It could all come back to haunt them.
Lord knows, that they have pretty much lost all credibility already.

I Love

I love your response.

Ron Paul's real victory

has nothing to do with an election.
Ron Paul is resetting the whole game.
a day is coming when we won't have to place all our hopes on one man and one election. men and women of good character will rise up, they already are. there won't be an election anywhere in the land that does not include a Ron Paul Republican on the ticket.
that will be Ron Paul's legacy.
we will all be a part of that.
how could i possibly be discouraged?

"The two weakest arguments for any issue on the House floor are moral and constitutional"

Another kind, warm-hearted response.

Mountain Meadows: Report from the Territories. Dust it off.

Dear Quiet.Meadow,

Subject: Meadow Mountain from "Roughing It" by Mark Twain

Take 'em. Dust 'em off. It ain't gonna cheer you up right off. If you get us a cup of tea & set back a spell, I'll tell you my tale. Got pictures. Many a library has my "Rounging It" book. I thought these original pictures might set your imagination at ease with how skillfully, tragic events can be set straight.

You will see those that take to doing us so wrong can be properly dealt their own undoing. This historical account does mention "Christian" a heap of times. But, that is not what got me to thinking about it. It was not that I forgot. Mercy no; I was the reporter. No, it was your moniker, "Quiet.Meadow."

If you are American Indian, all the better.

Take a listen. Leaf through the photos. Some are tattered. No matter. Telling takes but 10 minutes if you are not distracted. My hope is that you will know how just a few hard-scrabble determined folk can right a whole Territory.

I don't know the speaking voice... but by my solemn word, it was my report near as I could write it down. Goodness prevailed. Take it to heart.

Now, whether we are witnessing another miracle today is not rightly for me to say. We are forever witnessing the unfolding of what we do not expect.

I do expect we will know soon enough... I will be there to report it as it happens. But that is just me. You got your part too!

Roughing It!

Thank you

You are very kind. I wish I could please you by telling you I'm an American Indian.

1857. Mark Twain on the Mountain Meadows Massacre

Dear Quiet.Meadow,

Mark Twain on the Mountain Meadows Massacre. Narration: 10 minutes.

This is the link to the narrated version I was rambling on about. It has the pictures too! You may keep this copy.

You may read a heap more about the veracity of claims made in my account of this historical event. My account is accurate and first hand from folks present to tell their story at the time it was fresh in their minds. I am aware historians come along by & by to refute this or that. They might be right. What I am wrote stands. What others investigate stands for what they saw & believed at the time of their witnessing. Though stories may conflict, it is up to you to improve yourself by the telling.

You may balance out what I report with a modern Mormon version. It contains story telling worth considering. Either version confirms there was a massacre. Brigham Young set out to cover up complicity. Who done it? That is for mystery novelists & higher orders.

It's unfortunate

the Mississippi doesn't run through Texas. I'd have a place to dock your boat, and have you over for dinner.

I saw you "boating under the influence" the other day, with Jerry May. Nice work.

Glad to have you on board the DP. Your thoughtful posts add a unique charm and character to the place.

Much obliged. I really like visiting.

Subject: Thanks & Jerry Day - Ron Paul endorsement

Right back at cha! Thanks.

I especially like lazy rivers, big enough for a boat. Rio Grand gets a bit too lazy for useful work. But ain't complaining.

Small village atmosphere city scape suit me just fine for provisions.

Thank you for your kind words. I do travel by & by. Not so much as I used to. I'll keep you posted.

There will be no loss in this

There will be no loss in this battle. The victory might not be the Presidential win we are hoping for. Sometimes you have to tear down the house and start from scratch when the walls around you are crumbling. If Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination and the prospect is that he will lose, we should all vote for the destruction of this nation by re-electing Obama. (I think I just threw up a little). The awakening we are seeing for 2012 is the result of the loss (win) we had in 2008. I'm not sure this country can survive four more years of Obama.

Thank you

I wish I could show everyone how nice they are!!

Discouragement comes

when you loose focus. Be of good cheer for HE has overcome the World and their miseries. Their yoke is heavy.

Very encouraging words!!:)

Whenever I get discouraged

I try to remember that it is not the ELECTION that should be the focal point, but rather, the changing of social mood or outlook. It is getting the message out to more and more people that is really the most important thing we can do in this election.

With enough of the populace properly educated... it wouldn't matter who is in power... the people would simply STOP COOPERATING. A massive "no", would start being heard around the world. People would refuse to pick up arms to invade other countries, people would refuse to pay their fees and taxes, people would begin living their lives without government help.

It isn't as satisfying as winning one big moment.. but it actually makes the change stronger and deeper. Don't give up the fight, because as Ron Paul says... he ALWAYS WINS. That is because his goal is much bigger than the election.

Thomas Jefferson: “Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever."

Viva La Revolucion!

You have a very good point.

Same plan

Get local, get the precinct leaders to be Ron Paul supporters. Take over your state convention if you can. Look at all the progress we made in Nevada over the last 4 years!

People change, and we've had four years of people changing the local level. The national stage is always the slowest to move, but we'll change them too. Look at Dr. Paul. 30 years he's fought, and we've only found him in the last 5. If he can keep going, we owe it to him to do the same.

Eric Hoffer

That is encouraging. But I think we need prayer too. People's hearts are so hardened by war. A friend of mine had to sit through a prayer praising God for the murder of OBL. People's hearts need softening, and that is something only God can do.

Agree, don't expect

much from the MSM. The occasional bone they throw is an attempt to keep us grateful for their attention.

Poppy-Cock...we need to be in a position to NOT NEED their attention.

The Internet will have to be our media to get the message out there.

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.
Ron Paul - The Revolution

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

But what more?

I think that is true. Yet we already have active forums, and how do we get more attention? The talking heads are in some ways so hypnotizing. I worry that people who support RP will believe the same hype as everyone else, not taking the campaign seriously.
