How to Register Republican in California
Dear friends,
In CA GOP (916-448-9496) they told me that one has to register republican to vote in the GOP Presidential Primaries and to call the county for registering instructions.
According to my county Register of Voter Office (Alameda county: 510-272-6933) those who are already registered voters have to submit a new registration form to register republican. The registration form can be found either at the post office or at the county web site (www.acgov.org/rov for Alameda county).
I’m going to register ASAP.
Dr.P.
To register in California
You can use this page:
https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/register-to-vote/
You can fill out the form online, print it, and mail it in.
The form needs to be received and processed by May 21st (which is a Monday), so time is running out. If you cannot get it in the mail by May 18th, you might want to bring it to your County Election Office yourself.
If you've already received a vote-by-mail ballot without Ron Paul on it, you can ignore it. Just get your registration in by May 21st, then vote at the polls on June 5th and you'll be able to vote for Dr. Paul.
California Primaries must register as Republican
here is the link regarding prop 14 here in CA. It does NOT include Presidential elections. We must register as R to vote in the primaries to vote for Ron Paul.
http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/2012-elections/june-primary/...
I believe we have up until 2 weeks before elections to switch but the sooner the better.

Thank you for the links, Latins

Why again are primary
Why again are primary elections being conducted by the government and at taxpayer expense? Is that even legal?
And why are they collecting party affiliations on voter registrations? That's really none of the government's business.

Thanks for posting this info. Some info for Montanans:
The Montana info that I found was interesting enough to post.
"There is no party registration in Montana. Individuals who vote in a primary election are given all the parties' ballots, and can choose in private which party ballot they wish to vote. They return the voted ballots to an election judge in one sleeve, and the unvoted party ballots in a separate sleeve. Voters in a primary election cannot vote more than one party's ballots."

Thank you - thank you - thank you
This is why I love this site. I am going to use the Ohio link to spread to ALL of our Ron Paul 2012 groups so they can spread it to all they know who may not be registered yet.
It helps to always carry registration forms with you when you canvas for Ron Paul as well.
We'll get-er-done this time.
RON PAUL or NOT AT ALL
HOLD IT! Not too early please!
OK. Here in AZ the judgement call as to whether or not we get to keep our party status is in November/December of this year (2011). If you jump to GOP before that, we could get de-listed as a party...and trust me, that would be very, very bad because only political parties have election oversight rights and both the GOP and Dems stink at it right now. In fact there's a major lawsuit going on regarding the Pima County AZ election process that the Dems pulled out of leaving the LP as the sole plaintiff of record - and we just won a round at the AZ Supreme Court when they upheld this appellate court decision:
http://www.apltwo.ct.state.az.us/Decisions/CV20100001Memo.pdf
If the LP loses party status, this lawsuit is dead. Capische?
So, switch to GOP for Dr. Paul in EARLY 2012 - any time in the first three months will do, plenty of time to vote for him in the AZ GOP primaries in September of 2012.
Arright?
This issue may also crop up in other states.
Will somebody please re-post this to the Daily Paul site? I want Dr. Paul to win too, I'm a huge supporter, but can we please not kill off the Libertarian Party in the process when it's frackin' not necessary?!?
Thanks!
Jim March 2nd Vice Chair, Pima County AZ Libertarian Party
Further...we need to prepare to
throw out the congress who have betrayed the people. Make plans now to run freedom candidates. No 10 tea parties. Rather a freedom platform.

This should be a major strategy in the next few months
Think of how many potential RP voters are out there that are simply unregistered, or registered with another party. If we reminded these voters that they could switch their registration back after 2012, and maybe created some sort of handouts/literature with voter registration forms, we could really get out the vote for RP.

Californians MUST REGISTER REPUBLICAN
not only to vote for Ron Paul, but in most counties, Californians must have registered Republican A YEAR IN ADVANCE of an election or appointment to their county committee.
That means RIGHT NOW if there's any hope to be on your county committee.

I'm in Virginia
and in Virginia, you don't have to register Republican to vote in the primary.
And to register Republican, the 1st question you have to answer is, "Are you a US citizen?" thus revoking your Virginia citizenship, thus invoking your corporate straw man, and perpetuating a legal falsehood.

Facebook Page Updated
https://www.facebook.com/RR4RP
Hey everyone. New to the site. I actually made that Facebook page and noticed a lot of traffic coming from here. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know I updated quite a few of the links you have posted here and I re-did all the links on the Wall tab. So if you would recopy/paste the links, that'd be really cool. Also, I now have direct links to all the registration forms for each state listed on the Wall tab.
I also found this site while putting this all together. I think it was put together for Obama back in 2008, but I think it'd be pretty funny to use it against him (: It can be used for all states but New Hampshire and Wyoming.

Thanks for the tip. I've been meaning to switch my registration to IL anyways, so this was still helpful. I've been registered in my hometown even though I haven't lived there for 10 years now. Wow.

I have actually read that NJ
I have actually read that NJ is slightly different. Independants can vote in one or the other primary. So I am now registered Independant because I don't want to be assoc. with Repubs, but it shows some Ind. favor Ron as well :)

We Need Democrats!!
This is the year that Ron Paul can destroy the two party system. Instead of Democrats vs. Republican it will be Big Government vs. Small Government.
If you are Democrat you can register Republican just to vote in the primaries, and then reregister as Democrat for the national election.
To all democrats: Imagine having no neo-Con Republican voice in the November elections. Just Ron Paul advocating bringing the troops home and civil liberties!
I Democrat just registed Republican so I can vote for Ron Paul!!
The easier way to register is online via http://www.rockthevote.com.
I just registered Republican, and I will stay Republican if this party gets more candidates with views very similar to Dr Paul's, especially on the Economy and Foreign Policy.
Foreign Policy: We should stop killing people who are not attacking us. Stop bombing innocent civilians. I can understand a young man who wants revenge against US and join al qaeda, if his family was bombed by US. We, the American people, can reduce this Cycle of Violence. Electing Dr Ron Paul for president is a step towards greater Peace. Obama further alienated the rest of the world against America by promoting the wars we don't need to be in.
Ron Paul for 2012!!! But also other people who think like Ron Paul to Congress!!! Don't let Obama make everyone more poor by contributing to inflating our currency, worsen American economy, kill more private sector jobs, and then pass the blame for it on
