Paul A Palooza 2008

Supporter-Bomb

in

Las Vegas, NV

January 12-13, 2008

This is a supporter-bomb. Instead of donations, we are going to import Ron Paul supporters into Las Vegas by the thousands. Events will kick off Saturday, January 12th, 2008 at around noon with the biggest Ron Paul march ever. It will be on the Las Vegas Strip. You saw all the videos from the Tea Party marches. Imagine thousands of Ron Paul supporters in full regalia parading the famous Strip.

Saturday night will be an evening of fun-filled entertainment. We are in the process of securing a venue and some great entertainers. Tickets will be sold for this event, with the proceeds being used for activities targeting registered Republicans in Las Vegas in the lead up to the caucus. The caucus is Jan. 19th. Anyone that comes for Paul A Palooza is encouraged to stay for the week after and help us win.

Sunday will most likely be the first ever Ron Paul Las Vegas Convention. This is where we’ll get a chance to network with supporters from all across the country, plan strategy, and conduct training for the upcoming caucus in Nevada. It is our hope that ideas generated here will translate into political victories in other states.

Please get the word out, and keep this weekend clear on your calendars. www.paulapalooza2008.com is the official site of this event, and if tickets are sold online, this is where it will happen. All official news about this event will be posted here. If you don't see it here, it is not true. Contact info, and a great website design are on the way. Come back often for updates.

This event is brought to you by the creators of the Las Vegas Tea Party '07 - members of the Las Vegas Ron Paul Meet Up.

Paul A Palooza

Hey guys, I was one of the creators of Paul A Palooza 2008. I don't know how this thread got re-uped, but since there are comments I figured I would make one of my own:

There are no plans for 2009. Although i think it would be success, as it was in 2008, it is frankly not worth it. In 2008, we had to not only battle our enemies, but we also had to fight with the campaign, as well as all the naysayers, complainers, and whiners out there. It is really really hard to have success under those conditions, so for the future, I think it should be left up to the Campaign for Liberty to just do whatever it is that they are going to do. Who knows, maybe they'll contact us and try to organize something for '09.

Anyway, here are some links from '08 for your enjoyment:

Or---

There is no campaign now, nor many enemies because they have blinders on that we still exist, maybe some whiners, and complainers but who doesn't. It could just be an old fashioned grass roots Restore the Republic convention to meet, regroup, broadcast the message, and have some fun. The C4L has not announced anything like this so maybe we should organize on our own. There seems to be some genuine interest reading through the posts that thought it was for this year.

So, this is a joke?

Why not really do one in 2009?

dooped by the old post

woops

I do not fear death, I fear life without liberty.

Ancient history

This is nearly a year old. The event is ancient history.

Oh good...

catch. I thought about last yrs. (which I went to) & thought not there again! thanks!

Ummm

The Texas Station is not that nice & nowhere near the Las Vegas Strip. You may want to mention how much cab fare will be for supporters getting to the march on the Strip & then back to their hotel. Unless you plan on renting buses or shuttles.

I could never understand why Ron Paul events were held at such gross or out-of-the-way places like Arizona Charlies, Texas Station or that disgusting pizza joint where he went to sign autographs. McLame got the Venetian & Obomba got the Bellagio. While I understand those caliber of places might be out of the budget, places right on the Strip like The Riviera or Harrah's or the Flamingo would have reasonable rates. Heck, why not The Rio, home of Penn & Teller? Penn Jilette could probably use some of his pull to book a block of rooms for a convention that would pull in guests. All are centrally located and A LOT nicer than the Texas Station which is not as nice & far away if you don't have a car.

I don't think your link works.

I get some generic go daddy thing, but nothing about what you're describing.

Hi guys,

I just got off the phone with Texas Station and reserved my room. Call 1-800-654-8888, tell them you're a Paul-a-Palooza attendee and you'll get at rate of 59.99 for Friday the 11th, 99.99 for Saturday the 12th and 59.99 for Sunday the 12th. You may reserve for either 1, 2 or 3 days.

How fitting that we'll be staying at the Texas Station in honor of the Texas Congressman! This weekend is going to be so much fun!

Don't forget to RSVP at www.paulapalooza2008.com and check back often for updates!!

Paul A Palooza Update

Hey Paul A Palooza,

Keep up the great work! The word is getting out. We are now featured on the Truckers for Ron Paul website (http://www.truckers4ronpaul.org/) and the Granny Warriors might be coming (http://www.grannywarriors.com/). Please don’t let up, as we are approaching the 2 week mark, and we want people to get the best deals possible on airfare.

The venue has been decided. I'll make an announcement tomorrow; 100 hotel rooms have been blocked for this at a fixed rate of $99 for Saturday night. This offer will be available from the time of the announcement to January 5, 2008, or until sold out. They are even going to allow Saturday night check-in, which almost never happens in Las Vegas. I encourage everyone to book at the location when I announce it. This place is going out of their way to help us, because it is a Ron Paul event. So even if there is a better deal out there, if you can afford it, please spend the money at our venue until all the rooms are sold. They have sucked up a lot of other costs for us. When I announce, I will include a special code, and link to book your hotel room.

I have procured an alternative for those that cannot afford a hotel, or who enjoy communal living. It is a vacant building, and I will have dozens of brand-spanking new cots (still in the box) for you. There are 2 bathrooms on site, but no showers. There is not heat currently, but if there is enough interest, I will work out a solution for that. I will create some kind of reservation system for this. We could easily fit a couple hundred people comfortably in this building.

I will also be making an announcement shortly on entertainment. Tickets sales will commence soon. Stay tuned!

140 people are coming to Paul A Palooza as of 3 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007

RSVP and Friends

Great idea on the mini blimp! We could have footage of our freedom march!

Also, don't forget to regularly check http://www.paulapalooza2008.com/ for updates and to RSVP!

Also, please add Paul-a-Palooza 2008 as your myspace friend! http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewpro...

Penn and Teller Update

I have contacted Penn to let him know about the event, and hopefully he will be interested in attending. If I get any additional information, I will post it here.

Ron Paul Blimp on Ebay!

I would be cool to have a mini-blimp at the party!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280186996194

Blimp Paul A Palooza

Maybe one of those mini-blimps they fly in the arena at NBA games. Add a video camera and it could be like the novel "All Tomorrow's Parties" http://www.amazon.com/All-Tomorrows-Parties-William-Gibson/d...

Paul A Palooza Speakers

Some of us may not realize that Ron Paul is not just the Lone Ranger, he is part of a long-term organized freedom movement. Former UNLV professor Murray Rothbard was a founding father of that movement. Other notables include current UNLV professor Hans Hoppe, Lew Rockwell of the eponymous website, Doug French who is a bank VP in Las Vegas, and Phoenix talk show host Ernie Hancock who is currently in NH campaigning for RP.

So, maybe we could get some of these freedom movement (and RP supporting) people to speak. I would especially like to hear long-time RP friend Lew Rockwell, who turned his web site to RP advocacy last summer at http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/.

Yes!

Great suggestions, any combination of these speakers would be amazing!

We are envisioning and planning for a two day entertainment filled weekend with the freedom march and Paul-a-Palooza on Saturday, January 12th and the first ever Ron Paul Convention on Sunday, January 13th. Then, we are encouraging all out of town supporters to stick around and help us with our activities geared to secure a Nevada state political victory for Dr. No!

I might consider flying in

I might consider flying in for this, looks like I could get a flight for a little over $200. What are the chances I could hook up with a local for a place to stay?

Chances are good.

The local Meet Up is gearing up for this. One person has room for 30, and there are offers from members to house individuals. As soon as we're ready we'll send out a FeedBurner blast and post details on the website.

Today is the day after Christmas, so I'm hoping the venue and entertainment makes great progress today.

Excellent Idea! Now that's being creative and innovative!

Can someone post a headline that I need volunteers in Charleston South Carolina?

We have a house here that was donated by a supporter. We need to keep the momentum going post NH. Please come to Charleston and help canvass. Hit the streets of Charleston and travel SC.

Just Courious

Is there any chance the main man Ron Paul will show up for this event, that would be really nice.

Is this event for sure, because I have a group of people from all over the USA ready to go

Depends on You!

That depends on you Jimbo. The campaign is aware of our activities; however, I have not contacted them about asking him to come. I am busy trying to put together the details of the event, and my hope is that all of you will organize, pledge to come, and then contact the campaign yourselves and attempt to entice Dr. Paul to come.

Today is Christmas Day and we already have over 80 pledges. Just wait until the end of the week....we should have a lot more!
