are you serious with that comment? You do know that ALL gas tax goes in the general budget and is not set aside for road improvements or maintenance don't you?
On a anti tax Ron Paul site and we still have tax cheerleaders here.
Up until the first GWB,
Up until the first GWB, gasoline taxes were marked to help improve roads. That meant that improving roads HAD to be funded via a gasoline tax. GWB wanted to improve infrastructe without raising taxes, so he nullified this. Clinton happily followed, and Bush the second continued the trend. So generally, spending on roads > gas tax income. I still see the correlation that was there pre-GHWB. I want to bring those closer (at the same time), not widen the gap with the hope that you can narrow it on the other side in the future.
