Helping Ron Paul Win: Why We Are Here
We have seen a lot of great stuff on this site, and a some stuff that doesn't ultimately help the Ron Paul Campaign. Somewhere on Daily Paul you can find Michael Nystrom's Guidelines about posting. They are reasonable; Michael is a good and tolerant person. This is his site. He pays for it; he owns it. He gets to decide what stays. This is a very old discussion, but many think they can write on any topic and then cry Censorship if it is removed.
This is not to say that the removed remarks have no merit; they just belong somewhere else.
The bottom line is helping Ron Paul win the primaries and then the general election next year. Sometimes there are great videos, articles in the media, goings-on from various people and groups - all this is good to post, read about and share with everybody else. That is why we are here: to help Ron Paul win.
.

Amen and amen
A house divided will not stand. Let's keep our focus. Ron Paul for president. Imagine the great posts that will happen on that day!
This site is not "public property". Let's respect the rules, as we would in anyone else's house. I appreciate the invite and hope to see lots of smiling, hopeful faces.

About those CAPS
.
I think it might be possible to switch off your CAPS LOCK for future posts. Unless you like screaming, of course.
Just do it!
As a fellow Floridiot... If we don't get him through the primaries, there won't be any real change in government...I changed parties, you can bite the bullet and take one for Dr. Paul. If need be, you can always change back. Less than 5 days left to change parties..
"I'd rather switch than bitch!"
ABC Facebook Debate
Don't really know how to do this, but wanted to make sure folks new about this.

Why are?? we here...
To discuss Ron Paul, seems like we could spread his word by adding this little ditty to the end of each and every post on this website and others:)

Uh...
Spamming and bumping are violations of the TOS that Michael Nystrom originally set out. Bumpers, those who suggest bumping, and those who spam articles with comments that don't pertain to the article will be flagged.
Freedom to control what gets put in my face.
Freedom of Speech includes freedom to control what I inflow.
I like this site and come here often. When I see negative or anti Paul, covertly anti Paul, I feel that my freedom has been invaded. Freedom to choose what I read and see. Freedom to listen to what I want to hear. Freedom to read the description of the forum. Freedom of speech has two sides.
Forcing speech on someone who does not wish it is as bad as stopping someone from speaking to a willing audience.
The nicest public restrooms seem to have their share of graffiti and willful mess, that’s not freedom of speech, it is messing up the intended theme and purpose.
Freedom of speech is not a license to mess up a speaking platform.
If the owner of this site
If the owner of this site wants to remove any comment for any reason, that's perfectly okay. He has the right.
But to say you feel your freedom has been invaded if you see people saying something on here not to your liking, is a bit of a stretch. I only comment on this because it seems to me to contradict the freedom message. I understand what you're trying to say, but your wording implies that you personally have the right to expect people to be censored because it somehow takes away your freedom to choose what to read (which of course it doesn't). The only person that has the right to censor people on the site is the owner of the site and whomever he authorizes to do so. And the reason he has that right is because he owns it, not because of the particular comments people make and how negative they are.
Maybe I'm being picky and semantic, but I want people to be on the same page philosophically.
exactly
When I first started reading this reply, i thought this poster understood the concept of freedom. Then I learned he/she does not.

Agreed
I'd like to know how flagging actually works. Is it how many flags a post gets? Is it just sent to Michael for his decision? Can't he appoint several folks to help him oversee the site?
I get hacked off at some of the posts, but am very picky if I actually flag one.
There are a few though that enjoy stirring up crap just for the sake of doing it. Most RP'ers are pretty good at putting most negs and trolls in their place, but some are just intolerable. We are getting a lot of new folks that are here to just look things over and learn about RP. I would hate to lose them because someone decides to have a bad day and take it out here.
Thanks for the attention to this.
There are a few
.
...people who monitor when Michael is away from the store. They are able to edit and delete posts. Mostly the posts stand if they have to do with Ron Paul and his campaign. If the posts stray into self-indulgent nonsense or topics that are just inappropriate, they go. It's like weeding the garden.
Ditto..
I just posted something similar but I don't think people saw it.
This is not the place to discuss your doubts about Ron Paul. If you are a supporter and you are here, you are discussing how to help him get noticed, elected and to share stories that uplift, not to cast doubts and criticisms. There are plenty of other blogs that are attempting to do that. Also issues that have been put to rest by the campaign (and you know what they are) deserve NO MORE INK HERE!
If anything, this site has been too tolerant of some pretty bad posts with pretty bad titles. Please watch how Mike and myself and a few others are posting on the main page and try to keep your posts more 'professional'.
ZenPiper is Right
.....maybe we are in Time-Out tomorrow while the DP is down to rethink how we can best help Ron Paul. I hope we will return to campaign news, media coverage, meet-up group info and stories. We are on the brink of historic things happening. Happy Holidays everyone.

I wonder..
I am still seeing numerous posts promoting other websites but with misleading titles such as 'New Post' to get people to look at them, sometimes within the same thread. People, this is SPAMMING so please stop it. If you want your site to be listed, ask Mike to put it in the links list.
Also, please do not put URLs in the titles of your comments or long lines of dashes or other characters in your sigs because they make the page width screw up.
All caps is also not encouraged.
