New to the movement!Submitted by stoffer4freedom on Tue, 05/24/2011 - 21:53
Hi, my name is Corey Stoffer and I'm fairly new to both the liberty movement and the political process. I plan on doing some hard reading over the summer on the issues we face and Ron Paul's view on certain issues and why he feels that way. I'm only 20, so when he ran for 2008 election I was only 16 and couldn't vote. Ironically, right around mid-point of the nearly two year (maybe closer to one half) process it takes to elect a US president, I was sitting in my government class in high school. We talked about the Constitution and I went home and did some research. Being a naive 16 year old, I thought "well all of these candidates must respect the Constitution". I must say, I was shook when I saw that only Ron Paul truly backed this document that was supposed to be the utmost law of the land. From that day on I strongly supported him. I made phone calls, sent out emails, etc. I strongly believed in all of his views. Mostly because they were what the Constitution said we should do.
Anyways, before I bore you all to death, I am very pleased to see him running again. I honestly believe he has a good shot at winning the GOP election. I'm very proud to help out in his campaign in anyway I can, even if it means making small phone calls to local neighbors.
I will try to post on here at least a few times a week, if not only to say hi. I'm glad to be part of a growing movement that wants this country to go back to it's roots...to follow the law our founders had created for us!
Sorry for all the spelling mistakes. I'm tired and hungry. Dropping eyes and a growling stomach makes it hard to write!
