Ron Paul Rising - 12% in latest CNN Poll - 4% behind frontrunner

This was reported all weekend by different sources and media, but to tout Rudy's standing.

The latest CNN Poll shows:

Rudy 16%
Mitt 15%
Sarah 13%
RON 12%
Cain 10%
Newt 8%
Etc......

Look how close that is. My favorite part of the article was when transitioning from what they called Palin's "bronze" showing in the poll to Ron's number they said..."Further down in the survey..."

A difference of one percent is not much futher down. These are small numbers for everyone, even the frontrunner, but its good news this early on. I would think Ron being only 4 behind Rudy, 3 behind Mitt, and 1 behing Palin would be a story, but then again what do I know? :) Here is the article:

Cain in double digits only

Cain in double digits only reassures me of how stupid most Americans really are.
Ron Paul has been fighting for us for decades and is only a few percentage points ahead of Cain.
Cain shows up at a debate last month, makes a few idiotic wisecracks, and suddenly, he looks and sounds "presidential".

Unreal people!
GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As we all know

If the GOP "handpicks" Palin, Romney or Giuliani, Obama wins.

Ignoring the obvious.

The media excels at dismissing reality.

These are great numbers for this early in the game. Everyday the economy is going to push more people into realizing Dr. Paul is the best choice. All we have to do is continue to spread the message of economic responsibility and personal liberty.

7% chose Ron Paul as 2nd choice...

Who are these people that have Ron Paul as fall back? Does that mean there are that many people that could easily be swayed to voting Paul? Or are they just picking a name at random?

Poll also includes Without Giuliani and Palin:

Without either Giuliani or Palin:

Romney 21%
Paul 15%
Cain 13%
Gingrich 12%
Bachmann 9%

With Palin, without Giuliani:

Romney 19%
Palin 15%
Paul 13%
Cain 11%
Gingrich 11%
Bachmann 7%

Age Demographics

If you look at the poll statistics as grouped by age ranges (see page 8 http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2011/images/05/27/rel9a.pdf), it is evident that everyone that was polled was at least 50 years old! The columns for age ranges 18-34 and 35-49 are empty! This poll absurdly dismissive of primary votes under the age of 50! What BS!

If Dr. Paul has 12% in this poll without the young people, he has to truly be much closer to being the front runner.

That is a good point

Young people aren't usually reliable voters, but I suspect ours are more gung ho that most.

Integrity means having to say things that people don't want to hear & especially to say things that the regime doesnt want to hear -RonPaul

Not only age Demographics

This poll has more question marks than Obamas new birth certificate.

No young people included, and all kinds of people who will not or cannot vote, or will not run, in Republican primaries included.

The truth is if this poll was not purposefully skewed to portray Ron Pauls support in the worst light possible, he would be far ahead of the other announced candidates.

If the young people were included and the non factors excluded we would have twice the support of anyone else.

This is why winning the Iowa straw poll is essential, it cannot be tampered with like this crap.

Everyone should go here to find a list of Iowa newspapers, post to the op ed pages do whatever you can to put us over the top!

I wonder how many times Ron

I wonder how many times Ron has won the poll and they have just neglected to publish it?

We can see how much these polls fluctuate, and since I have never contributed to one, I never give them much credit. Obviously Rudy shouldn't be at the top, but we all know who should!

So Basically, Paul and Romney are the frontrunners

Since most people aren't running.

AND HOW DOES ANYONE KNOW WHO HERMAN CAIN IS??

This is total misinformation...

There is no way this poll is legitimate at all. How can you have an accurate poll when people in the poll are not even running? Why not add JFK and Teddy Roosevelt to the poll! It's a complete lie! This is such an obvious sham!

um...

Here's the full poll result:

http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2011/images/05/27/rel9a.pdf

They also include a poll for without Giuliani, and without both Giuliani and Palin.

(might be a good idea to inform yourself before screaming misinformation)

ummm...

The poll is pure disinfo, misinfo.

It doesn't matter what questions they ask, it matters WHO they ask, and the people they asked were in no way representative of the actual people who will be voting in the upcoming primaries.

And adding all of these people who arent running is also a design of this phony poll.

I reiterate, if this poll would have only included likely voters and announced candidates, Ron Paul would nearly double the rest combined.

Rudy is ahead because of

Rudy is ahead because of local name recognition of a NY paper.

How in God's name can Giuliani be ahead of Ron Paul...

...let alone be in 1st place???

Are the republicans REALLY that stupid?

I guess so.

But they're going to lose AGAIN.

Love won! Deliverance from Tyranny is on the way! Col. 2:13-15

statistical 1st place tie at least for Ron Paul

This poll has a +/- 5% point margin of error, meaning Ron Paul could actually be ALONE IN 1ST PLACE.

In another cnn poll from 4 years ago Ron was under 2% and rudey was @ 27%.

http://articles.cnn.com/2007-09-11/politics/gop.poll_1_stati...

These numbers should make us all flush with excitement!

But like others have said the big poll is the Rasmussen Iowa straw poll coming quickly upon us. We must all focus our efforts to help the good people of Iowa get the message of the love revolution 1st hand, and not let Roger Ailes propaganda machines(FOX news, Bush Limbama, Sean Insannity) define us instead.

It is us against the machine and we are at least tied.

If the margin of error is +/- 5%,

The first four candidates are tied. The news media report these polls as if they mean more than they do.

Created and driven reality...

I know most folks here are younger and may not remember the "stick & carrot" skit. Well it is simple a carrot tied to a long stick. This was dangled in front of the donkey's head and it would believe in his ability to obtain it...so he would follow that carrot where his MASTER wished him to go.

These polls are exactly the same. The SAY that this is the reality...and once it is astablished to be so in the minds of the ""donkey's"" then they can play the numbers.

Rudy being a front runner is great news!

Because he crashed and burned last time around, even with the PTB supporting him.

And I don't see why he would get a different result this time around.

But Ron Paul needs to employ a strategy of Rudy, and that's go on the offensive, even ridiculing Rudy for all the evil and extreme stances he takes.

Obama is feeling pretty confident

The only one that can come out and smack down Obama will be Ron Paul, but the GOP would rather have Obama back than to rally behind Ron Paul. Quite a shame, but it seems to be the case.

Rudy? Rudy!? Rudy?! RUDY?? RUDY!? RRRRRRUDY?!

Rudy? Rudy!? Rudy?! RUDY?? RUDY!? RRRRRRUDY?! Are they mad??

Any time I hear that name, I think of that nerdy near-sighted pitcher from the Bad News Bears.

How does this guy get on top of the polls? Unless, of course, he was PUT there by paid operatives!

"Cowards & idiots can come along for the ride but they gotta sit in the back seat!"

He had to have paid for this.

He had to have paid for this. I know of not a single person who would ever want Rudy in the top 10 of nominees. Most people can't stand him.

Giuliani?

Don't tell me Giuliani is coming out of the closet to run in this race too? Yuck! Enough of him already.

Resist the temptation to feed the trolls.

the problem is

when you look at Ron's secondary support. Ron continues to score too low on 'who is your second choice' and this is why one should not discount Mittens - his numbers are very high.

Simply put - RP needs to expand the base. IMHO the best way to do this is to run a campaign like he intends to win and not simply as a platform. It is incredibly important to pick and chose the topics you address publicly as well on how you answer questions on topics for which you will garner much less support in the universe of Republican primary voters.

This is not about purity. This is about being smart and promoting your stengths, minimizing your weaknesses and hitting your opponents on theirs.

I sense this is a very wise post.

I hope the campaign is trying to win, and not just settle for being on stage.

Ironically, since Rand won big in Kentucky, perhaps HE should be advising Ron on what to do to WIN!

Yep. Us DPers love these

Yep. Us DPers love these polls but fail to realize that when the promotion starts and the other peoples' names get out there, they will surge and Ron Paul will still garner the 10% of voters who know his message, because there will be little promotion and little to attract and expand the base.

Maybe Girlyani could get a bump

if he dressed up in drag again.

Check out my new site to help promote and fund Ron Paul: http://www.bestronpaulvideos.net/

The only way Rudy....

could get 16% of any poll is if the poll only asked New Yorkers, or only asked Rudy's personal friends, or if they didn't ask anybody and fabricated the information.
