This advertisement is going to run as a full page in The New York Times. It will be in the News section. I do not know the date. In order to keep the cost affordable they have the option on the date. The range is Dec. 24th to Dec. 29th. It is also going to run in all of the major New Hampshire papers on Friday, Dec. 28th.

Yes, it is excellent!

I'm glad, also, that you included the URL for RonPaulLibrary.org!
Bravo!

Easiest way to pass the word about Jan 8th Sign Bomb Day...
Ha Ha ... is to post this little ditty at the end of each and every post you do on this website and others...
Ron Paul Jan 8th Sign Bomb Day... www.signbomb08.com
how hard can that be??
GREAT AD.... WISH YOU STICK IN JAN 8TH SIGN BOMB...
Wish it had one little blurb asking people to SIGN BOMB ON JAN 8TH... would have been great pushing this event....
Lawrence, you had me from "hello"...lol!
Thanks to Glenn Beck who has given us another "catch phrase" in the campaign . But truly Lawrence has shown his true colors and they are blatantly RED, WHITE & BLUE!
For those that refer to "eye candy" and photos and such, I disagree. This type-only open letter to the American public is just that, a letter, needing no decorative or visual aids. It is extremely heart-felt and should remain as such to insure its sincerity and thought-provoking nature.
Sir, I can only hope one day to shake your hand in person and salute you as the true American Patriot that you are!
:-)
NYTimes is a much better choice now than USA Today
Readers of the NYT have better attention spans and will read the advertisement.
THANK YOU LAWRENCE LEPARD!
Ron Paul Ad
All that needed to be said: "Are you a Loyalist or a Patriot?". I was thinking the same thing a few days back. How is the current plutocracy much different than George III's henchmen?
GREAT text; needs "eye candy"
I love the text. Simply beautiful -- heartfelt and truthful.
My only fear is that people will read the headline, but skip the five columns of dense text. That's a lot of reading (even for NY Times readers).
I agree with previous comments that it needs a big photo of Ron in the center, with some bullet-point text telling me why I should vote for him. Include the current text in small type at the bottom (trimmed, if necessary), but do something like the USA Today ad.
But there is some !
.
There are little bold-faced insertions all the way through, little eye-catchers. Not candy, more like a chunk of meat to chew on a for a while and maybe savor.
I thought it was pretty amazing, considering what it must have cost Mr. Lepard.
If only there were more citizens like him who could place their own full-page ads and speak so forcefully for Ron Paul. Still, one is often a majority and Mr. Leopard deserves a gold cup, a round of drinks and a hot night with Helen Thomas. Oh wait.
.
Thank you, Mr. Lepard
Thank you, Mr. Lepard. I think yours is an excellent example of what many of us could do on a smaller scale with our own local papers.
that's a great idea!
i didn't think of that! i'll ask my local paper how much it cost to run an ad for a week.
i think we should buy ad time from the washington post and the la times (lepard's already covered the nyt and usa today). i think the post and the la times would start positive coverage once we give them some money.
I pledge, do you?
Could have been better
This guy has too much money for his own good. He should have put a big picture of Ron in the middle of the page along with "Ron Paul" in large letters. Most people who skim past this page aren't even going to read the name Ron Paul. Besides, very few people read newspapers anymore. Radios ads would be much more effective.
Could have been better??

That statement chaps my hide. How DARE YOU! Who do you think you are? In all honesty, your comments should be ignored but I felt compelled to comment on your sheer ignorance and arrogance.
Most people back Dr. Paul because they cherish Liberty and Freedom and are willing to do whatever, it takes, peacefully, to get people to wake up from their slumber.
My mother taught me early on that if you have nothing nice to say--don't say anything at all.
Thank you, Mr. Lepard for your generous contribution--- I for one, appreciate all that you and the other patriots, out there in the trenches, have contributed to take America back!
God Bless!!

readers
People who read the New York Times often LIKE TO READ, and they like to learn things. There is a whole school of ad strategy where you put in plenty of text, let someone educate themselves about something. You're not blasting a slogan at them, you're offering a learning experience. And these readers are the exact demographic to match that ad.
Again, thought leaders read that newspaper, and there will be ripples we'll never even realize coming off these great ads.
You should be ashamed!
Putting down a man that has given so much to further the cause of Ron Paul is just plain stupidity in my opinion. What might be more positive is for you to run an add in your own home town paper for Ron, instead of criticising others.
Actually!
You should be ashamed! He posted the article on Ron Paul Forums and asked for feedback. This is a forum - are we all supposed to hold hands and kiss? Take the kool-aid somewhere else.

Thank you
I think it's fantastic what you're doing. I think USA Today started covering RP more after you puchased ad space w/ them. (I tried to quantify my assumption, but I couldn't. It's impossible to determine how much USA Today would have covered Ron Paul in December if the ad were NOT purchased.)
I think the rest of us should purchase an ad in the Washington Post. We can't let Lawrence Lepard shoulder the burden alone. Anyone?
I pledge, do you?
Thank You

Thank you (again) Mr. Lepard
You are a true Patriot to our country and will be written about in the (true) history books.
All my thanks to you! You inspire me to do everything I can. If we all play our part, the rEVOLution is already won.

You just can't write it any better than this!
Wow......he hit's the nail on the head on every issue. The oppostition has to be biting their nails. Blimp in the air and full page endorsements from people who give a damn.

Thank you greatly...thoughts from a designer..
Lawrence,
I think you are awesome to undertake this great effort. It is wonderful and we are all grateful.
I am a graphic designer and these are basic layout suggestions...if you have the time:
1. Need MORE white space.
2. Emphasize the NAME and FACE of Ron Paul. People need to see the man, and not just his message. This and the headline should be a FOCAL POINT.
3. LARGER subheads and LESS text....this gives the ad "color"...you are not just viewing a sea of "gray". When I see these sort of ads with a mass of type...I just want to turn the page. Noone is going to take the time to read all that...it's too much work!
4. BETTER typeface...try Garamond Condensed, the typeface associated with Apple. It's a beautifully designed, classic face. As a matter of fact, go to an Apple Store and look at their packaging. See what I mean by beautiful, clean design. It should be helpful. Good luck, and here is the typeface:

Thoughts from an American...
It's easy to find "constructive criticism."
Instead of critiquing Mr. Lepard's GENEROUS contribution to the rEVOLution, how about putting an ad (of your design) in your local paper?

Mr. Lepard is a very smart man...
In case you are not aware, before he did his USA Today ad, he produced at least 5 drafts, asking for input from the Ron Paul Forum.
He realized that he needed feedback to produce a good product...and he got it! I am extremely impressed by his efforts and am giving him feedback because I want him to knock 'em dead! I care.
btw, I love working on a Mac, but I do not work for Apple...I've just always liked their iconic advertising. Just remember, they "Think Different"...not unlike our man!.....and they came up with the very first superbowl commercial. That's thinking big. That's what WE are all about.

The designer is an Apple person...I think she did a great job. :-)
Great Idea
A NYT ad is a great idea. It will reach people who are willing to make an educated decision about who is the best candidate. Ron Paul is polling better than ever now according to www.wakeuplate.com
I think the Revolution is finally happening everywhere. He was great on Meet The Press this morning.
is it not a little too long?
is it not a little too long? I understand wanting to fit so much information in, but what is the average attention span? isnt it only like 8 seconds. So not to be a negative nancy, but should the ad be something that gets the point across within that time span. Maybe have a picture of ron paul or something so that people get the idea quicker.
Right on!
This guy is awesome. His ads will reach a ton of people, hopefully converting some of them into Ron Paul supporters.
