Tim Russert is NOT a disgusting vile piece of trash...

Before you send ANY email to Meet the Press ...
If you are UNFAMILIAR with the program then you should watch some other videos and educate yourself to the style of this program. Tim Russert's purpose in life is to find dirt, expose, and question it. It's tough by design and the Dr. did awesome.
I believe that Tim Russert was VERY fair to Ron Paul and allowed him to answer the questions fully.
HE HAD HIM ON THE PROGRAM... IT'S WHAT WE ALL WANTED. SEND POSITIVE THANKS NOW:

You are correct Sir! We need to kill them with kindness!
He really did us a favor! He emptied the chambers on Dr. Paul. Now their already out of ammo and the elections haven't even started!

This was an interrogation, nothing less.
I'm surprised Ron Paul was not water boarded.
Maybe not trash, but....
He's no better than Hannity, O'Riley, and the like. Every time Paul would address the question and start making sense or turning it around on him, Tim would interrupt and try to move on to the next topic. Our man picked up on it eventually and kept talking, not allowing the diversions to continue. This is the MO of most of the talking heads and Paul handles it alot better than he did a few months ago. If ya haven't seen him destroy Cavuto about the Black contribution, ya have to see it...

Good job
Dr. Paul!
Tim Russerts read questions verbotim... he's on our side!
I agree that Tim Russert is not a piece of slime BECAUSE.... I think he was trying to get the message across to his audience that he was having to read off his questions from a pre-prepared list of trash questions.
I think he *had* to do what he was told, and if you see how he had to look down, read, and I think purposefully stumbled over reading the questions to show it was all a hit piece.
AND I think his little quip at the end of the conversation/interview was a hint to Ron Paul to watch himself, the powers to be feel threatened by him...
Russert
Tim is a pit bull and that is why he is the best interview Ron can get in the msm, Phil Donahue is long gone from MSNBC so we need to take what they give us.
Tim Russert thinks Ron Paul
Tim Russert thinks Ron Paul is Presidential, and so do I! I don't understand all of the people here who seem determined to think Tim had smear motives. Have you not seen this video?

Three new Ron Paul supporters thanks to Russert.
I had three neighbors who complained bitterly to the homeowners association about my Ron Paul signs all over my yard. Today, I got visits from all three complainers asking if I had any more signs and bumper stickers (why, of coarse I do).
Why the change of heart? They saw Ron Paul on Meet the Press and changed their opinion. They were all very impressed on how he handled the assault and wound up being the victor. When media pundits attack our hero it isn't always bad. Dr. Paul just has a knack when falling in a dung pile that he comes up smelling like a rose every time. Who was it that said, "That which does not kill us makes us stronger."
Hey! Anyone see Ron Paul hug the supporter after the MTP show? That hug was for all of us.
"It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." Samuel Adams
“Just look at us. Everything is backwards; everything is upside down. Doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, governments destroy freedom, the major media destroy information and religions destroy spirituality”
I love this post!!
This is what Dr Paul is all about. I know that RP supporters are very defensive of him but you have to sit back and take deep breaths. Nothing will stop his message! How in the world do you think we all got to this point? Even on MTP, he got his message out and not matter what the media does, he will still get his message out! Your post is great and while some of us sit here worrying about every interview, every news article, it doesn't matter. What matters is his message and MAN does Dr Paul have a message.
For some of you younger Ron Paul supporters, the best president in my lifetime (before President Ron Paul) was John F Kennedy. Do some research on JFK and listen to his last speech before he died. He cared about American's and in that last speech announced that he knew about Secret Societies and asked for the help of the American people. Dr Paul loves American's as did JFK. We do have a chance to repeat history in a good way.
Yard Signs
Would you mind posting pix of the "Ron Paul signs all over my yard?" I've only got one yard sign in my front lawn. I wanna see what it takes to get all the neighbors talking about Ron Paul.
I pledge, do you?
Tim Russert may NOT be a disgusting vile piece of trash
Those who are reporting on the interview just might be for printing and saying things that Dr. Paul never said.
But we all know how morally bankrupt our American media is. If you want more honest reporting you need to look to the foreign press.
Isn't that a shame, when we are suppose to be living in the land of the free.
I'm sorry sir but you are wrong
After watching that interview I was nauseated by the slime dripping off of this piece of horse squeeze. My wife even commented that Russert sounded like a "soudruh" which is what the Czech people referred to the communist puppets in the political scene. This interview was a deliberate hatchet job in which he dragged up statements from 20 years ago to try to make RP look foolish and trip him up. Pulling in the position on the Civil Rights act to make him look like a racist right wing redneck from Texas. What an asshat. If you listened clearly enough the way the legislation was crafted was unconstitutional which is why he would vote against it not because he doesn't believe in equal rights for african americans. What a shithead setup question.
The supposed "earmarks" that were for his district and the huge 4billion number he threw out regarding the flood insurance were slimy tactics. The job of representative is to take requests from the people for projects and bring them to congress to be considered. When a vote comes around they then evaluate if it is Constitutional to pay for it from the treasury. If he did not submit the projects his people wanted he would not be performing his job. If he pushed the bill and got co-sponsors and then voted heavily for it on behalf of a group paying him off then that would be "pork" but submitting normal requests for worthwhile causes and then even voting against them because it is not constitutional to fund them does seem like a double-standard but if he did not submit the requests of the people he represents then he would be remiss in his role of office and probably lose his job so he in the end would be out of a position to make a change.
The majority of the money in that 4billion quoted was due to paying for required obligations of the federal government under the NFIP program. Then the slimiest part of that whole show was how the round table discussion they then threw up the latest MSM polls that either didnt show RP on them or showed him in dead last. The discussion follwing had nothing to do with the actual interview other than talking about the other people running on the R and D side. The show was a disgraceful piece of establishment trash propaganda journalism that would have gotten Russert a medal from Stalin.
The funniest part is when RP got fired up and went on about the corporate "soft" fascism and then it cut to commercial break and it said "Meet the Press, sponsored by GE."
What irony eh?
What I think he should have done on MTP
I'm not sure why he didn't have the figure on how income tax or if he did why he didn't say.
Then Russet Potatohead, kept interupting him, and Ron Paul let him. He tried to overtalk him for a minute to finish his point but then he stopped and went on to the next question.
I think Ron Paul should have STOOD UP and shook his fingure at timmy and said "listen here boy you show me some respect and shutup and let me finish the answer to the question!"
However, I still love you Ron!
Give me liberty or give me death.
I beg to differ, yes he is.
watch how Russert really deals with tough questions, himself: inteviewed by Jack Blood, while peddling his book, sidejob from propagandizing for the military-media-tainment complex.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6ucTsF6ldQ
Russert, only a tough guy, when it doesn't count, and when he is on the other side of the mike. Sure, Russert, phone problems, hanging up on his host. What a hypocrite!
If we know anything about MSM, they lie, smear, constantly. Fair is the most we can ask for from them, but they'll never even give that. Even Beck who called us "terrorist" only budged after we harangued him for sometime, even then they couldn't hold back from having "Paul is dead, Paul is dead..." quoting Huckster under the kyron.
Run away, Russert. Mr. I was invited to attend the Bohemian Grove. What a laugh!
Tough questions would have shown what criminal liars neoCONS and Cheyney were and are, what criminals the 109th and 110th were in misprison of treason for abdicating their Constitutional duty to declare war and investigate the warmongers and the WH. Tough questions would have cemented a seed of doubt in the hearts and minds of the sheeple who actually still believe the boobtube that this war/occupation in two nation and Iran on the horizon was built on lies, and is in fact illegal, unConstitutional, and violate existent international treaties that we have signed onto with consent. Plus the fact that we are technically there to enforce UN resolutions. Those would have been tough questions posed against powers that be.
Tough questions get the nation thinking. Tough questions stops wars, occupations, murders, and rape. That would be tough. So is Tim a worthless piece of trash, shill, hack and sycophant for the oligarchy? Short answer? YES!!!
Could the Doctor handled the "interview" better for those who are tuning into his message for the first time? Sure. Bringing up Eric Dondero, misquoting him about Reagan, utter ineptitude on the part of Tim to understand that most historians and academics worth a grain of salt today all concur the Civil War was fought to stop secession, not slavery. That was the legal issue and justification. The MSM always bring out this fallacy to inject emotion to steer the misinformed. Again he votes against other feel good sounding doublespeak titled bills like the Patriot Act, medal for Mother Teresa, for the same reason he would if anyone actually bothers to read the bill, vote against crucial bills like the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and 65. I mean after all who'd vote against something that frees and ensures the rights of people right? But as we all know, NO bill ever passed in modernity actually only contains legalese that the title refers to. They always add useless crap, like bridge to nowhere for Ted Steven Mr. Corrupt I pay myself with campaign money, I accept bribes of Alaska did in the War appropriations bill.
Can we all wake up from the stupor for once?
RON PAUL 2008!!!

My thank you message is in the mail. Or rather, the e-mail.
The only thing that matters
The only thing that matters is did this help or hurt us? Ron Paul did not LOSE supporters today but I know he gained a few... how many? None of us know. Worried about his negatives though....

THIS was the pin in the Grenade...
... and the MEDIA pulled it- oh sweet irony. Bravo Dr. Paul. We all knew you would excel as usual.
As for the big debate as to whether or not to send the customary hate mail to Tim Russert--- DON'T!
Anyone who watches Meet the Press knows that it has the reputation of being the meat grinder for all candidates. It's like the Rite of Passage that'll make or break you. The Good Doctor bore it well and in fact made the MSM look horribly stupid in the process. Mr. Russert did his job. Unfortunately their traditional slamming backfired horribly. His support will grow exponentially now.
This was exactly what he needed to boost himself into the eyes of the people, and you can always count on the media to deliver. If I didn't know any better, I'd say the Campaign Team planned it.
Wait 'til you see what this guy stands for......
A very pedestrian attack on Dr. Paul. “Well wadda ya goin to cut?” – A de rigueur challenge that any politician who questions government spending gets. The answer is bound to offend someone - not a very original tactic. Most of the rest was based on quotes from RP’s Libertarian run 30 years ago. Russert (who has always been a big Zero in my book) had a tactical victory in that he overwhelmed RP with questions, with the result that RP was reduced almost to sound bites answers. RP failed to slow down the interview and answer more fully…and yes, Tim looked sleazy with his head down, buried in his (attempted) assassination notes.
Ron was blindsided by the
Ron was blindsided by the frequency of attacks by Russert, as is Tim's style. Ron was left sputtering by some of the outrageous assertions and Ron's responses were equally difficult to follow on a number of questions. What really irked me was Russert's three-pronged attack against Ron and then not allowing him time to refute any of the attacks. That was a chicken**** move by Russert. To be fair, Giuliani was left a quivering mass of jelly by the end of his interview also...

Thought it was Fair
Just watched the Meet the Press interview twice. I thought it was as fair as can be expected from MSM. The problem one has when he actually has/voices opinions (as Dr. Paul does) is that it provides ammunition for hard-hitting questions. Dr. Ron Paul says and has always said what he thinks. That is so unusual for a politician. He is an honest man. Consequently he says things that irritate some people; that's just the way it is.
Dr. Paul stomped down every question Tim tossed at him. Some people on this site seem to think Ron needs defending. He does not. Dr. Paul speaks honestly, competently, and clearly on what he thinks. That honesty is what makes men like Tim Russert look bad, and look bad they should.
This interview was a definite "win" in the good doctor's column.
You missed douchebag!
Yes, he's all those things. He represents GE, the Military Industrial Complex, the Big Bucks, lobbyists, those who want to own D.C. and our lives!
It was a great interview because it was RP being interviewed!!!

Yes, he is.
You can stop pasting your post into every thread discussing the Russert-Paul debate (it certainly wasn't an interview). You're not going to change my opinion, no matter how much you spam yours.

As I said in another thread..
What struck me and will strike others who saw this is the level of confidence our guy has now that he knows how he will be attacked in these interviews and the level of conviction he showed when he answered the questions. Standing tall indeed and he never hesitated as if he didn't know the answer.
Yup!
I thought he was relaxed and even kinda funny... when he smiled and kinda called B.S. on T.R.. hehehhee
Yes Tim is a tough interviewer... but this interveiw was EASY for our guy!!
And it will bring MORE new voters to Dr. Paul
Right on Jane!
The Dr. is cool as a cucumber! He knows he's going to be needled by almost all interviewers, but his convictions run so deep, they're unflappable. And it doesn't hurt his confidence to know that he has the US Constitution on his side, as well as throngs of supporters now allied in his camp. The others run on principles of George Bush, Richard Nixon and even Reagan, but Ron Paul is running on the principles of Thomas Jefferson, John Hancock and Benjamin Franklin. Go Ron Paul!

I agree with this post! If
I agree with this post! If you send anything to Tim Russert it should be something like this:
"Tim! Thanks for a really informative interview with Ron Paul. I was glued to the screen the whole time and I'm really hoping to see him on your show again soon.
Thanks again!!
-__________"
KILL THEM WITH KINDNESS! That Ron is getting tough questions can only be seen as a good sign. This is how all the other candidates (except Huckabee who is being shuffled into the GOP nomination because the left knows they can kill him in the General) get treated, especially on Meet the Press.
Ron Paul was awesome, and Tim Russert was not unusually obnoxious. He prides himself on trying to make politicians squirm. I bet you'd love him if you saw any other candidate on that show. Try not to be so sensitive when it's our guy in the hot seat.

speaking style
To those who critic Dr. Paul's talking style. I know why he seems to pause a moment and says uh before he speaks. As someone who also explains technical information to laymen, Ron Paul is thinking, "how could I dumb down this information in a short answer so this guy could understand what I'm talking about." Granted, Paul could be smoother, but think about always having to find simpler ways to explain complex thoughts, you would say "uh" once in a while too.
